Get your pharmacy a computer at pick-up. It is insane to expect them to jot down or retain info and walk back and forth between the till and their computers. The employee and customer experiences are going to be worse off even for the most uncomplicated transactions.

On Sunday, July 7, 2024, at approximately 6:18 p.m., I visited Shoppers Drug Mart located at 1644 Hillside Ave, Victoria, BC and complained to the employee on duty, Miss Kennedy, about some photos they had previously taken of me, which were rejected by IRCC due to technical specifications. (low resolution, brightness, etc.).

This unfortunately caused me to lose valuable time in receiving my PR (Permanent Resident) Card... after many years of waiting and agony to achieve it! Now I have to buy myself more patience...!

Anyway, Miss Kennedy left me completely impressed with her professionalism and sense of customer service and she refunded the money I paid.

Not only is Loblaws a leader in retail in Canada, but they should also be proud to have people who truly listen to customers' needs and offer options to solve them.

Also, I really appreciate the customer service, the entire staff from the pharmacy assistant to the pharmacist was amazing. Honestly, I would like to work in a work environment like this!

My son needed a tetanus shot and even though they normally only do them on Tuesday’s they fit us in and did it anyways. Really appreciate the customer service all staff from Pharmacy assist to pharmacist were amazing

I’m absolutely done shopping here. The makeup department is the worst I’ve seen at any shoppers. Only the Indian girl is nice, the rest couldn’t care less about customers. The fat one with the glasses is just plain rude and unprofessional.

The pharmacy really goes above and beyond to assist.

Here is how the staff is treating customers with a child bleeding and just looking for a bandage. Staff asked three times to leave the store within 3 minutes before closure, in a very, very rude manner. I can understand we arrived just before store closes, but can we show a minimum of humanity and patience, and accept to be 1 minute late in some unusual contexts? No need to be rude and agressive.

Their pharmacy staff is the best! So friendly and quick. So glad I switched the whole family over :)

In the spirit of helping someone else who might need decent service while filling a simple prescription, please let me save you the trouble: choose a different pharmacy if at all possible. In the case of someone needing help with a prescription far more urgently than I did, the lack of professionalism and care here could actually prove serious.
After considerable delay and genuinely surprising rudeness at this location, I opted for a different Shoppers pharmacy and none of the same issues came up; everything went smoothly and politely. Hope this helps someone who just needs some basic service and not confusing, unnecessary hassle!

I have been there a few times recently, and I see significant improvement, night and day difference. More stuff, much quicker process.

Long wait time: I waited for 2.83 hours for a bottle of 20 tablets.

Chaotic management: More than once they gave me the old prescription and told me they received no updates, though my doctor had sent them the new prescription.

Poor experience: I lined up the first and left the last, it must be a stack!

Though I appreciate your kind service and hard effort, I must make this complaint, because perhaps, there just might be something wrong.

I love the pharmacy staff. Efficient, caring and helpful.

I have always had great experiences here while having prescriptions filled and sometimes buying other items. The staff are friendly and the store seems to be well-stocked. I recently overheard a conversation between the pharmacist and a woman getting her prescription filled where the woman was being quite rude (didn't mean to eavesdrop--she was loud enough the entire store could hear her). The pharmacist was so patient and professional with this woman, despite the pharmacy not being responsible for her issues.

Excellent Service especially all the staff in the pharmacy!! I would never go get my prescription anywhere else.

Huge rave to the pharmacist at Hillside Pharmacare. They helped my family member when the written prescription couldn’t be found after a visit to the hospital. Wonderful man who really cares.

Update 5 months later:
This week I was preparing to transfer my prescriptions to another pharmacy, it required me to goto Shoppers have them transfer my subscription to the other Pharmacy, but when I got to the desk I decided to just give it another shot.

Everything went smoothly and people in the long line in front of me was promptly served. The staff all seemed to be new faces since (5 months ago) my last visit... but I was pleasantly surprised when I went to get my prescription a few days later:

When arriving to pickup today, an elderly lady who was just about to leave, was very appreciative of the service of the pharmacist as she left, had thanked him profusely.
Then the same pharmacist helped me and he promptly got my prescription, and that's when he surprised me... as I paid, he told me he saw my review online... and that he was very sorry for my experience, and that he and his coworkers had reflected on it and wanted to improve.
I was very surprised! and told him I really appreciated it, and said I'm happy to see that they have really improved.

I felt a bit guilty after leaving so I decided to update this review.

I feel they deserve another chance to show their improved efforts =). I hope your visits were as pleasant as mine.

What happened to the pharmacy department here in the last year? I’ve used them for most of my adult life. Completely new staff with people who don’t seem to be interested in their jobs…

Told me my prescription expired, then had to have me come in person to speak to a pharmacist, no problem, after to wait 40 minutes to pickup, all fine but then I come back and turns out they didn’t even have my prescription and I had to wait for them to call me back next week.
Sure I’ll wait. Never called.
Come back later next week and they gave away my prescription to someone else? Wow

Talked to the pharmacist and they agreed there has been lack of communication and it was completely unacceptable she said. Fine I’ll wait til it’s in and theyll call me back. I’m patient. No call back next week either. What’s going on??

Try to call them and wait on the line. Line gets cut dropped call, call again and wait another 15 minutes. Someone pickups to say a code or something and hangs up. Nice. In total I spent probably 30 minutes holding for a lot of “one moment please”.

Guess I’ll come back in person since they won’t answer the line.

Find another pharmacy this one’s no longer dependable.

The staff are lovely, particularly the pharmacy staff. Always friendly, patient, and helpful.

My husband and I came in to buy a skin care product developed by a dermatologist in Victoria. We were assisted in locating the product by Lani in Cosmetics. Lani was very knowledgeable in the product and provided helpful advice to my husband on using it. She also helped us find other products like the magic Eraser which was in another department. She helped me clean my Apple Watch silicone band to bring it back to its original state. Lani puts her customers first and she went above and beyond to help us have an amazing experience!!! We will definitely return to this Pharmasave for future purchases. Thanks again Lani for all your help.

Staff stayed late and did a second cashout to rectify an error of another pharmacy and complete my prescription order. JJ was very patient, and understanding of my situation and urgent need for prescription.

I mainly get prescription refills at the pharmacy, and they have been easy to deal with and deliver right to my home with no issues! I’m very happy with the service at this pharmacy!

Failed to deliver essential inhalers to my aging, asthmatic mother with COVID along with her other medicine. Delivered so late she couldn't even arrange to have someone else pick it up before they closed, and they won't re deliver until late afternoon the next day at the earliest even though they made a mistake. Left her to struggle to breathe all night. If you rely on a medication being delivered, go somewhere else.

This store is amazing! I had to special order a prescription, and it was expected to take 4-5 days to arrive. While I understood the issue, I was not happy about it and was expecting 4 days of misery.
But the pharmacy managed to locate an alternate source AND they dropped the meds off at my house the next day.... Thank you!

Isles are crowded, hard to pass anyone standing in aisles.

It’s a cute Xmas excuse. But there were less then 7 people in the store the day I went there trying to get to the pharmacy section.

The staff here are so friendly - special shoutout to the very kind folks who work in the pharmacy who are personable and informative. Always seamless and medications are always ready on time. We used to live in the area but now live downtown, but we still continue to come to this Pharmasave based on our experiences.
