Well priced and convenient. Get tickets in advance. Be ready for airport type security screening. The ferries ran about every 20 minutes, stopping at Liberty Island and Ellis Island. A must-see if you're in NYC.

It was nice to take a second cruise with them to show my mum the sights for her 1st time. The crew was kind, and security was quite intense; more so than at than at airports. PS: Don't form a line to board the ferry. Bunch up, they will tell you the same thing...

The cruise in itself was very pleasant. The only the crowd can be better managed. The queues were 1 miles long for general admission and there was no staff at the back of the line to direct and guide. They should mention that we need to come 3 hrs in advance to board at booking time.Tip: always book the tickets with Pedestal or Crown visit. It’s the same price just need to book few days in advance. These tickets holders have a different queue which is much faster.

Before I write anymore - if you're reading this - BUY PODIUM (or crown) tickets... Or go early.
I had no idea we would arrive and there would be a 2.5hr queue... Fortunately (but definitely luck than judgement), I brought podium tickets a few days before and literally allowed us to walk to the front of the queue...
After that, it's a proper airport security setup before being boated over to see the lady herself.
If I'm honest, the "podium" isn't all that spectacular... You're not up THAT high and views up are pretty limited. But boy is it worth it to jump the queue!! I think the crown tickets would have been something worth buying but these were sold out several months before we even decided to go to NY.
The island itself is lovely (currently got a fair bit of maintenance) and there are plenty of benches and spots for a picnic or a lunch from the cafe.
The cafe is chaos (at least at lunch). The same queue for food (and or just drinks) and as you'd expect - not the cheapest but was more than acceptable.
We got distracted and missed the audio guide coming off the ferry so look out for that if you're interested.
The museum is worth a look around with some fascinating artifacts and information about the lady, the torch etc. Arguably better than the museum at the podium.
Definitely a must do... But plan ahead is my advice.
We had some poor weather when we were visiting so crammed the 9/11 memorial in on the same day so skipped Ellis Island unfortunately. If you get there early it's worth trying to do both. It's only about 15mins walk from the ferry terminal.

We have experienced lots of New York on guided bike tours / on foot under our own steam. We took the Tenements, Tales, and Tastes tour to see and hopefully learn a little more about the history and lower east side.

We were very lucky in having our guide, Erik to ourselves. Erik was a charming, friendly and very knowledgeable individual who added to the experience.

Great insight into both the previous and modern happenings in the area. The food stops are well chosen and excellent fare.

Highly recommended - be sure to layer up if taking before May /June as it does get cold in the wind!

The 2 Islands I'd give 5 stars. Loved going into the museums and reading the history of Ellis Island. However to get there is a huge pain, crazy long lines, waiting and waiting for a boat to come. We felt trapped waiting over an hour at all 3 stops to get on the ferry. I would definitely do it once, but be prepared for it to take all day.

We took the Lower East Side food tour with Eric. Eric was a fantastic guide. He was knowledgeable, interesting, and patient. He kept not only the adults attention, but also our four children from ages 5-14. He was patient and gave us wonderful recommendations for the remainder of our trip!

Be prepared to wait at least an hour. During cold season dress warm as it can be drafty on the boat and on the island! Felt safe as they continue checking boats in and out of the islands. Great views of the city. Book at least 2-3 months in advanced if you want to go to the top of the Statue Of Liberty.

NYC: The Story Of Lower East Side's Food Culture:
Excellent tour of the food and history of the immigrant communities of the Lower East Side. We learned all about the history of (primarily) the Chinese, Italian, Jewish immigrant neighborhoods, with a focus on their foods including some yummy samples along the way. Our guide Erik was fantastic, and I can't recommend him enough. He was incredibly knowledgeable but was able to pass this along in an easy-to-follow and interesting manner. He also added a good amount of humor, which was perfect. If you take this tour, I highly recommend you ask for Erik to be your guide!

Mayever Trip Report

I traveled twice this year to Israel, once with family on a Bar/Bat Mitzvah tour with my wife and two 13 year old kids and a second time alone, on a volunteer tour after the October 7th tragedy. I will discuss the 2nd recent trip as we wrote about our first wonderful, touring and spiritual trip already.

The pre-trip planning was perfect, I was understood, and a trip was created for me to do what I wanted to do, which was to volunteer and physically work with and for the Israeli people. I wanted first class accommodation and day trips to the various activities at local charities, Kibbutzim, towns and with IDF soldiers. I met hundreds of people and soldiers and came away with a real understanding and appreciation of how hard Israel and its people were hit by the devastating attack on October 7th, which lasted a couple of weeks in Israel and is still ongoing today in Gaza.

The reservations were all perfect, no problems or negative issues. I requested and got a wonderful and knowledge tour guide who also drove a comfortable SUV. Keep in mind I was not visiting sites but going to devastated places and volunteer sites. I also requested a guard for safety, just in case. I wanted that we all volunteer which made the experience fuller and more meaningful as I did not travel in a group. Sometimes we joined others in the work and sometimes it was just us, but it was all so meaningful, and I felt we were doing something real, useful and appreciated by my little group and the people we were assisting in small and very big ways. We helped prepare food, deliver food and other items to families and IDF units, visited devastated towns and Kibbutzim, cleared land and did yard work and talked or rather listened to soldiers and everyday people who were attacked or who fought or just experienced the October massacres.

I could not have done it alone. I could have joined a tour, but I wanted an individualized, personal and tailormade experience that I felt would be, and was, more meaningful and fulfilling. Mayever did all that for me. I am forever grateful and humbled by their enthusiasm to participate to show and learn with me. Each Mayever member I met I loved are now my friends. This is such a wonderful tour!! Our guide Joe was so knowledgeable and very thoughtful . . He made sure everyone was ok and really took care of everyone! Good historical experience! Weather beginning of January had a possibility of effecting ferry departures so we ended up getting tickets in person the day of, website has time schedules, so we just arrived before a time we wanted to go. Tickets are in a brick round building in the park by the water. For food or snacks on the boat they accepted cash only, pretzels were dry, found out they had more food selections on the island and they accepted card. General admission gets you both to the Statue of Liberty grounds only and Ellis Island and its museum building.

We had an absolutely incredible food/cultural tour of the Lower East Side ("NYC: The Story of Lower East Side's Food Culture"). Our guide Erik was passionate and knowledgeable and overall amazing despite the cold day - he even accommodated tricky dietary preferences. The mix of history and food was perfect. I had booked a private tour for my parents and friends who were from out of town visiting New York and honestly I could not have asked for anything better.

I booked a NYC Food Tour Greenwich Village for a company outing and Mason was so friendly, accommodating, and efficient with our booking process. Rick, our tour guide was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and so hospitable to our group.

The tour itself was great since it was a nice number of foodie destinations peppered with historical knowledge. The staff at each location was so well prepared for us, and made the tour seamless and super fun. You can clearly see the community within the neighborhood, which makes the tour itself so special.

My husband and I had a great time on this food tour. Our guide was Lydia (really nice, very knowledgeable). We used the Statue city cruises based out of Battery park, NY to visit the statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. It was a wonderful experience and we had the best time!
We purchased tickets online on the website and once we reached, there were many employees stationed at various points to guide us to our boat. The cruise was fun, we tried both the outdoor as well as indoor decks. There are snacks available for an extra cost. Restrooms are clean.
The timings for the next departing cruise are clearly mentioned everywhere and the staff is super helpful in answering questions. Overall it was well organized and a great way to spend your afternoon in NYC.

Recommended activity to see East Manhattan and West Brooklyn side

What an enjoyable, tasty and educational 3 hour tour! My wife and I had such a great time walking the streets of Greenwich Village. Our guide made personal connections with each guest, asking questions. She told the history of the area and specific eateries and buildings from the Dutch settlement in the 1600s right to today. The history was awesome, the sites and neighborhoods were so nice and full of energy. Of course, the food we experienced was fantastic - ingredients and tastes were incredible. We loved this tour and are looking forward to doing food tours in different neighborhoods when we visit again in the future.

This tour really gives you a glimpse into the origins of this magical place in NYC. Our guide was knowledgeable and made the experience come alive. The food was fantastic (and plentiful!! Don’t eat a big breakfast before you come!). Be aware that this tour focuses on the very early time period (late 1700s/1800s) with just a few touches about the 50s-60s. Also, consider bringing a water bottle with you. There were only 2 stops that included any sort of beverage-the first and last.

We booked the mimosa excursion. You set sail for 30mins just up to the statue of liberty, stay there a bit and return.

No mimosas were served, just cava.

Nevertheless we found it to be an excellent experience. Service was great. Refills all the time and good bites.

And you are guaranteed to end up with a few cool photos.

Super friendly, knowledgeable about the history of the area, the city in general, and of course the different food locations - and the food was fantastic! Just the right amount all around. I booked Wine Tasting Sail tour as a part of my best friend's 50th birthday celebration and it was unforgettable!
First, the crew were AMAZING, all of them! We may not remember all their names, but each one of them was great! Ben and Gabby (sp?) were great hosts and made sure our cups are never empty. A BIG thank you to all of you, you were awesome!
Now I did read a lot of reviews before booking this tour and here's my humble opinion:
If you expect a gourmet tasting with a sommelier on board, don't book this tour. It is all about the experience sailing on an historic, 1929 vessel while sipping wine and taking some great pictures. It is all about the company and good mood that you will bring with you. And for the love of booze leave your toddlers at home or book a (much cheaper) sailing experience that doesn't involve alcohol.

We decided to spend our last afternoon in Central Park. We had looked up the Rickshaw rides online and found a price for $75 for 90 min. We walked down from our hotel ( Park Central. Read review!! 🤩) We found Ayun and he initially had different pricing ( you have to negotiate ) after starting at $200pp I got him to the $75 pp. I’m am really glad we got him tho. He was AMAZING. He was so friendly and gave a great tour. He also took a ton of photos for us ❤️

There’s a lot on the Mayever website that seems very pie in the sky- content written for promotional purposes. After going on a tour with Mayever, I now know it is all true. In fact, I could have written it all myself, because that is what I experienced with my family. I just completed a tour with family and friends. We were 12 people in all, ranging in age from 12-65, with varying levels of observance and experience in Israel. For some it was our first time in Israel and others had extensive experience that dates back to 1966 for one of us. We also had someone with special needs on the trip. Everyone’s needs were met. We actually did have the perfect tour guide for our group and we all learned and saw and experienced new things. It actually was an experience and not just a tour. That was possible because the team at Mayever communicated so well and listened to us all along.

Both our drivers were wonderful! They were very knowledgeable, gave plenty of photo opportunities, and were HILARIOUS. We really enjoyed it. One of our party said it was one of his most favorite things on our NYC trip. Highly recommend!

THIS SHOULD BE ON YOUR NYC MUST DO LIST! Sailing the Hudson on the historic 1929 Shearwater Schooner is an unforgettable experience. Beautiful skyline views, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are all checked off the list; but what sets it apart is the personable crew. Captain Allen, Madeline, Trevor and Gavi extend BEST IN CLASS genuine hospitality. Cold beverages, wine and beer are available for your enjoyment and are a nice touch to one of the most relaxing, romantic and chillest sails I’ve ever been on.
Excellent for small groups or couples and especially if celebrating a special occasion. I was celebrating my 50th birthday and was recognized with a complimentary round from the crew which I’ll never forget. You can even stand on the bowsprit!!!!! The schooner is immaculate, extremely well kept and they share its storied history protecting our waters during WWII.
Be sure to arrive at least 5 minutes early to check in as the sail sets off promptly.
FORGET the other sails and choose the Shearwater for an amazing experience….you will not be disappointed, guaranteed!!!

Chose this excursion with my Sightseeing pass, and I'm really glad I did! The crew is really nice and professional. They obviously know how to handle the boat and keep everyone perfectly safe when the wind unexpectedly picks up.

Of course the view is amazing. We sailed past the statue of liberty and since it was cloudy, I managed to take much better pictures than when I was actually on liberty island. And let's not forget the manhattan skyline on the other side. Definitely worth it, and I recommend it to everyone visiting NYC. Wether you're traveling alone like me, or with a partner, friends or family.

The Jewel is frequently used as a nightclub where the operators attempt to avoid following the same regulations placed on street nightclubs by not following New York City's sound ordinance laws. Loud club music can always be heard originating from The Jewel even at weekend and Friday hours past midnight; audible as late as 3 AM.

Makan represents the true spirit of New York. If you're a first time tourist of the city, you must book a ride on his pedicab. First of all pedicabs are much better than horse carriage rides for obvious reasons, but Makan puts his heart into his work and it shows.
His energy sets the tone for your trip with a smile and a sincere desire to give his customers the best experience possible. He was prepared for the cold weather and had a warm blanket available for us before our tour began and even tucked the blanket in to ensure our maximum warmth and comfort.
If you're expecting a "stereotypical New York attitude" from Makan you'll find yourself surprised by his sweet and compassionate demeanor. You can tell he wants his riders to enjoy their experience on his tour and puts so much effort and preparation into his service.
My traveling companion and I felt like we were on a ride with a friend the whole time. He stopped at the best destinations in the park for photo ops and took such great photos of us he could have a side hustle as a photographer along with his pedicab tour.
Makan provided a wealth of fascinating information about the park, the history of the park, and knew the answer to every question I had related to how old a structure was and whether or not it had gone through a restoration process. He described the outer boundaries of the park as well offering a greater insight into the surrounding city.
My favorite part of his tour was his sense of humor and his appreciation for our silliness. We can be over the top sometimes with our goofiness and he just encouraged us to have the best time we could have. I especially appreciated the research he's done in order to offer a more immersive experience, complete with a portfolio of photos and news clippings. I asked him if it was something he put together and he confirmed that he put the time into preparing his guide with a collage of news and pop culture that inspires a heart warming sense of nostalgia.
If it isn't obvious, I could go on and on about our ride but if my review thus far doesn't convince you that his service is indeed worth every minute and every penny you'll regret booking your Central Park tour with anyone else.

We lucked out and got a private tour of pizza spots and Greenwich Village. Janet was a great tour guide, entertaining us with the history and stories of the area and the beautiful buildings. We visited three pizza places. Quite different from each other and all tasty and filling. I’m glad we walked for a few hours to work off the food and beer. It was a very fun way to see the neighborhood and enjoy some of what it has to offer.

Awesome brokers site. I work in nightlife and must place clients at the right venues. Booking was easy as pie and their staff was very intelligent and definitely knew which vessels to offer to me (and vicariously to my clientele). If they keep this up, they will surely be on my speed dial. Too bad they only do boats (I need CLUBS!!
