Clueless staff, Mediocre food, Loathful drinks.
Would give them zero stars if I could, fr the deceitful answers over the phone.
The place is cheap for a reason.
When I called, the phone attendee said, all the chicken, lamb and beef is Halal. After a long drive and hustling fr half an hour fr a an expensive parking. Upon arrival, we were told only a few options were Halal.
We were told there's no table available before 8:30 and when we arrived it was a ghost town and were told to sit anywhere we want, without asking if we had a reservation.
We had already wasted so much time, so we ordered what was available.
If my knife is struggling to cut a medium rare steak, it's a thumbs down already. The lamb was very hard and chewy while lacking flavour. The burger was ok, but it felt like a hasty job done, given we had to remind them as one of us had already finished eating.
The superstar of mediocrity was there mocktail, it literally felt like they had put some cheap cordial with ice and fruits, served in the same vain too, in a tacky container just slapped it on the table lol. They put apples in it even after asking fr mangoes. I was too exhausted to argue, just gulped it down as my fate. 😆

P.S. the waiter serving us was a very fine gentleman, but that couldn't change the overall experience, unfortunately.
Situated in Barangaroo and facing the harbour this place just had the right vibe for a perfect romantic evening, we tried a variety of dishes including crocodile meat and kangaroo besides the chicken salad which I had, there were happy hours too for drinks which worked well for the group, the onion rings were simply yum and married well with cocktail.

Here's my honest review:
✨Location✨
I think the location is ok. It's close to the water and there's some outdoor seating with a view
✨Price✨
I think it's a little pricey but not super expensive like a steak house
✨Ambiance✨
I think the place is elegant and has lots of decoration.
✨Drinks✨
On the pricier side but I did not have one unfortunately
✨Recommendation✨
I would not go here again. I had an awful experience with customer service and that's enough for me to never want to revisit. The truffle mashed potatoes were amazing and so I would be open to trying the food again maybe at a different location.
✨Food✨
I went in for a burger but got the kangaroo steak instead. I will say kangaroo is not for me. It's a relatively chewy meat and I prefer more tender cuts. I would have rather to ribeye but at least it was an experience I was able to check off my list.
✨Customer Service✨
This is why I scored them so low. The customer service was absolutely awful. When I first got there the waitress came up to me and I had been sitting for less than 2 seconds so I didn't know what I wanted. She didn't come and bring me water for over 5 minutes. She checked on the table next to me three times while I waited for her to come over. When she finally returned I told her I wanted the crocodile burger and she explains to me they were out. I was very sad and she recommended the kangaroo. I asked if that was a burger, she said no and then it was just offered silence. I feel like as a good waitress your job is to then recommend things in line with what your customer wants or at least care to ask. I felt super uncomfortable so I just went with the kangaroo even though I had my heart set on a burger that night. I was also sitting by myself and it's just customary that if someone is dining alone you should be mindful of that. Sitting and waiting while you're driving alone is extra awful. And we can all agree that dining alone isn't always the most comfortable experience but having horrible customer service makes it way worse. Not once did my waitress come check on me while I was eating so I felt so horrible that I got it to go box and took my food back to eat it in my hotel. She didn't even come back for the check so I ended up leaving cash on the table and walking out. Literally worst customer service I've ever experienced and I know this isn't the Aussie way because I've had nothing but great experiences since I got here.

The manager (i think) ruined the vibe.

At entry, the lovely hostess said that we will have to be seated upstairs because we had no booking which was fine specially because we ended up being the only ones upstairs.
The food was also good, came out quickly. We had the medallion and sirloin as well as the truffle fries.
The guy waiter upstairs was also nice.
What ruined the vibe for me, and i almost wanted to leave before ordering because of this, was, who I assumed to be the Manager. Following the hostess upstairs the guy starts yelling where are you going repeatedly. I ignored him because excuse me? Were we supposed to walk back to speak with him? Or did he expect us to yell across the restaurant that we’re following the hostess?
3 mins after being seated he finally goes upstairs and starts talking loudly to the hostess about why we are being seated upstairs. I would hope that he’s usually more professional than this, but not too sure like I said, we were the only ones upstairs and only the downstairs area was full.

Awesome atmosphere coupled with a great service and friendly staff. Steaks, Ribs and burgers were on the point. We ordered different cooking options (medium, medium rare...etc) and all the steaks were cooked just perfectly....Highly recommended !!

BBQ menu. Very good quality cuts. Nice staff. I come here often but this was particularly good. The staff work hard and are very attentive and precise. Proper equipment. $99 dinner x 2 pax. Will keep coming back.
We went last night for a birthday dinner celebration! We ordered onion rings and truffles fries to share, and they were delicious! Almost everyone on the table ordered meat, and it was well cooked and with good flavour. I tried one of the meat medallions with red chilli sauce and yum! I didn't even take photos of the meals.
I also ordered myself a cocktail whisky amaretto sour, and it was really good.

Came here solely to try out the exotic crocodile burger. Set on the riverfront, the restaurant offers variety of meat dishes. We went straight to business with a crocodile burger for me and a beef hot dog for my friend with a large portion of fries to be shared. The croc burger was nicely done and the meat tasted like slightly tough fish meat but I loved it. The fries were good too and a huge portion for two people. No drinks or dessert and the bill was 60 AUD for two. The sad part is the unwillingness of the venue to want to split bills, never understood why.

First dining experience in Australia and I’m very satisfied about the food and the customer service. I didn’t even know you could eat Kangaroo until my first day in Sydney coming from the states. Come out perfect mid rare with aïoli mashed potatoes and fries. Can’t remember which dipping sauce they gave me with it but you only needed a little bit. Would eat here again. Decent view too, relaxing atmosphere

Love their lunch time bbq set menu. High quality meat and quick service that you can visit over an hour lunch break. Wish they gave a little more rice but a great meal.

Highly recommend beef tongue and any of the other thin cut meats as they’re much easier to cook. The wagyu beef rib finger is much thicker and takes longer to cook through.

Really great place for an all you can eat. $79 pp as we got there at 6pm on a Thursday. The selection is top tier with varying meats and side dishes including sashimi, sushi, udons etc. the staff were really accomodating and store a surprise birthday cake in their fridge. Can’t beat this place

Best Japanese bbq in towns. Great portion variations, tasty drinks, and good quality rice. Also cheaper than lots of other Japanese bbq places and yakitori places. Will come here every month!!

I'm generally not a fan of meat but I enjoyed eating here since the meat was delicious and marinated well. I 100% recommend the flap meat which was very tender and reasonably priced. The meat in the chicken karaage wasn't very lean, but I think that's simply my personal preference. The ordering system with the ipad makes things simple and also allows to you call over staff on the floor. At one point our BBQ did go out but the issue was fixed promptly by two members of staff. The restaurant was a little crowded but seating was still comfortable.

Had early dinner here on 28/12/2023. We had reservation so the waistaff took us to our table without delay. Fast and efficient. Atmosphere OK but a little bit too crowded for my taste. You order your food via the iPad that is mounted on each table. That iPad is is FIXED position without ability to tilt the angle and without ability to pass it around. So, those wo sit far way from the iPad MAY have difficulty in seeing the screen. When you order, you have to press "order" on the iPad for your order to be sent to the kitchen. Food came out quickly and they are good. Price is OK. We spent $112 for a family of four (without beer/sake/softdrink). They give you 5 percent discount if you pay cash.
Came here for my husband’s birthday, it was busy restaurant. Booking is must, otherwise will wait with hungry tummy:). Overall the service is fast, food was great, busy place, really happy with everything. Definitely will be back

Has a wide range of medium grade Wagyu cuts available to order, but limited top grade options. Buffet is $100 / person, all you can eat on selected menu items within a 2hr window. Cocktails are $20. The menu has many alcoholic drinks including beer, wine and speciality drinks. The main menu has lots of good choices available. The dessert items are somewhat limited, and need work on their presentation compared to higher grade Wagyu restaurants like Choji Yakiniku in Chatswood who offer limited dessert options yet have a strong focus on care and attention to detail. The atmosphere is very noisy inside and the place was packed full of people. It's a great set-up, though not recommended if you are looking for a quiet night out.

Yummy meat, very tender. Price is reasonable. We come here many times. This is one of my daughter’s highly recommended restaurants. Staff are very nice.
Only one thing we concern is Yuzi ice cream and lavender ice cream are not longer available. We were looking forward to those ice creams each time we come here.

Went there for the first time tonight, went with my partner for my birthday. And what can I say, the food was downright amazing and the quality of the beef was just exceptional. The fresh scallops were so sweet and juicy. At first I was a bit worried about the food coming out a bit slowly, but honestly it was just the right speed and by the time our time was up we were full.

Only downside is the drinks I think are a little bit expensive ($4.50 for a can of coke) but overall I would highly recommend this place, one of the best Japanese bbq’s I have ever had. Just make sure you book, and pay cash to get a cheaper price :)

Even with the price increases, Kobe remains reasonably priced after visiting several times. Although I usually enjoy exploring to new places, kobe quality always hits differently. I like the wide options they have. Sashimi are always fresh, including the meat. I also like the side dishes. To fully appreciate the experience, set aside some time for dessert.

Had lunch BBQ here. Lunch meun is about $35 with a choice of 3 options of different meats or seafood for BBQ. The quality of meat is excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Recommended.
Food was better than average although I feel that there was no star quality nothing specific to go back for. Service was definitely amazing and quick. But I feel that $100 is understandable for the quality of meat and service but at times not so understandable.
Had an amazing dining experience at Yakiniku Gyuzou! The ambiance is cozy. The menu is extensive with a variety of premium meats and seafood, alongside other Japanese delights. The Wagyu cuts were exceptionally tender and flavorful. Staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring a smooth dining experience from start to finish.

Just came from a tour, went straight to this highly acclaimed yakiniku. And boy! It did not disappoint!
The choiced Kobe boneless short ribs, premium short ribs, LA short ribs, outside skirt - were all soo soft, tender, and melts in your mouty goodness!!
Dry seaweed rice soup, fish and tofu nuggets, karaage, and downed with the refreshing Yuzu lemonade- what a combo!!
Very good experience!

Recently visited this Japanese BBQ spot and was completely blown away! The quality of the meat was top-notch, and the flavors were authentic and rich. The staff was friendly and guided us on how to properly grill each cut. The ambiance added to the overall dining experience, making it feel like we were in Tokyo. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic Japanese BBQ experience!

Went in for dinner and had the deluxe buffet with drinks. Surprisingly, the wagyu here surpassed the quality of the wagyu at our usual go-to Japanese BBQ spot, Kobe Wagyu Yakiniku. The portion sizes of some dishes were a bit ambiguous, leading us to click multiple times. Fortunately, a staff member came to our table and clarified the serving size for the wagyu, preventing us from ordering more wagyu than we could handle. On the other hand, some dishes, like the gyoza, arrived with just a single piece. The service was attentive, and the food was served promptly. While the selection of side dishes was decent, nothing overly substantial stood out. Finding the restaurant can be a bit tricky, as it is tucked away in a laneway. The easiest route is to head towards Martin Place (when you see ANZ, turn left), continue straight, and take a right at Priceline. Follow the path until you reach the entrance, which is located after ascending the stairs. Overall, the customer service provided by all staff members was friendly. Although the older gentleman may come across as a bit brusque, I don’t believe it's intentional.

First up, cash is king. On a Sunday for all you can eat we paid 80pp cash (88 for card).

We are not big eaters so the first dishes of all cuts were decent quality (saying there may be not so good quality on the repeats on the other reviews). Makes sense as the first is usually the most photographed.

Sashimi and nigiri were heavy handed on the rice to fish ratio compared to a Japanese sushi bar but very good quality for 80pp.

Overall good value for money variety wise and highly recommended even if it's not quantity you're selling but quality selection.

We love yakiniku in Japan and decide to give this a try. We had the buffet $80 pp. The beef although wagyu is not always the best. The best cuts I found here was the karubi and the short rib. Short rib was marblelised and cooks quick on the grill, very yummy and meets my criteria of what a wagyu is. The karubi is not consistently good, it depends what piece they give. The rest of the beef was just average. Quite like having the sashimi and sushi options. Sashimi was the best here, big pieces and fresh. Everything else was just ok. Ice cream was amazing however, love the sesame and matcha flavour.
Overall experience is good but not outstanding. Enjoyed only some of the items but not all.

Went for the lunch BBQ and drink buffet and paid cash to take advantage of the discount. All the meat was super fresh and good quality and a reasonable price for what you get. I over ordered a bit but managed to eat everything, you have 2 hours and last orders cut off after 90 minutes. If you have meat left over they'll charge you an extra $10 which is fair enough. The orders come out pretty quick after ordering even during the busy time. The staff were nice when I asked silly questions. Will 100% come back when I'm back in Sydney.

Celebrated my birthday here and it was an excellent experience. Received half price on the all you can eat buffet yakiniku, and had no complaints with the food or service. The pace at which our orders were being brought out was amazing, and the staff were extremely attentive with cleaning up any emptied plates. The meat and seafood quality was worth the price tag— personally could not get enough of the sashimi, especially the scallops. The spicy miso flavoured beef rib fingers was also amazing.

I highly recommend this all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue restaurant. The quality of the various Wagyu beef options is excellent, and there are hardly any competitors at this price point. The sashimi is also delicious, with a strong recommendation for the raw beef, which has fantastic texture. The eel rice and sushi is also quite good. Additionally, they offer several flavors of ice cream, all of which are enjoyable.
Please note that beverages are not included in the buffet, but they do provide tap water. Cash payments receive a discount, and the best deals are usually available during weekdays' lunchtime. It's advisable to make a reservation on their website, as I once walked in at noon and was told they had no available seats until 3 pm!

Definitely it’s worth to try. We ordered the Deluxe buffet (includes sushi, sashimi, seafood, and premium meat)and drink and desert buffet too. It costs around 250$ for two people.
We didn’t have a reservation but I highly suggest to reserve your table in-advance.
The quality was among the top range Buffett Restaurants and they did not loose the quality because of serving in buffet.

In terms of atmosphere, the restaurant is quiet with dim lighting but it’s not a romantic place. It is good to sit, eat, conversation, and enjoy 😄

A nice atmosphere and good food. Love that they have some more usual meats such as beef tripe, chicken giblets and chicken soft bone which is not normally found in other yakiniku restaurants. They also have a good variety of alcoholic drinks and non-alcoholic alternatives. I like the range of high ball they have. The portion size are just right. The staff are polite. The ventilation is also good.

The food was great and really yummy. The service is 0/10 no customer service at all except the 1 lady on the second floor, mid hair length she is helpful and smiling.

The other lady who have a long hair, a bit curly at the bottom was so rude, unhelpful, no smile, not friendly at all. So expect the rudeness of the staff, when you dine in here. Even though the food was great it will affect your mood and appetite because you will not received any good customer service here in this restaurant. I hope a little customer service will apply here soon.

Japanese BBQ in the lower level of Regent place.

You will need to put your name down on a queue list before they open ... The restaurant is bigger than what you can see up front so there should be a good chance to get in even if there's a moderately big line... It's safer if you have a booking.

The food is fine. You order things on a computer. I liked the drinks, but I was also thirsty to begin with. There's a 90 minute limit to eat on the table and there's a timer on the computer.

A Japanese grill with a reasonable selection of choices on meat, vegetables, and drinks for grill barbecue. It is located right next to the escalator in the plaza. You must obtain a ticket for lining up to get seated. I'm not sure if they take reservations, but I would highly suggest doing so if u would like one.

Be noted of the beer you ordered. we got the small size ones for our first orders and didn't realize that until we ordered the third one, seeing the large size difference

We arrived at our booking on time and was promptly seated. Staff were attentive in terms of keeping our table clear of empty plates and ordered being brought out quickly after ordering.

There was quite a large selection in the buffet option we opted for. While you're ordering different types of cut, you couldn't really tell the difference between some of them. You can order your meat plain or with seasoning but seasoning was more like drizzles of what you order and not marinated, some might or might not like that.

Overall, a satisfying experience.

The price $104/person is absolutely reasonable because the meat quality is very good you can see the marble from photo. The highly recommend part are short ribs, rib eye cap and flap meat. 😍
