I mean it's a bridge....
I'm a big fan of the Martin Olav Sabo Bridge over Hiawatha Avenue (Hwy 55) on the Midtown Greenway in south Minneapolis. It is the first cable-stayed suspension bridge in the state of Minnesota. Opened in 2007, the bridge provides a pedestrian path and a continuous biking connection across the city. Happened upon this delightful group of preschoolers exploring the bridge on a Greenway bike ride. Such joy watching the mesmerized kids listen to the cars and trucks honk their good wishes as they passed by below. A sunrise followed soon thereafter. One of my favorite spots to stop and catch a view of the pre-dawn blue hour... it's a nice view at all times but looking into the eastern sky just before dawn cracks is especially nice from this bridge.

I absolutely love this place! The view, the trail, waterfalls, even the graffiti they keep painting over! You guys, whoever you are, aren't appreciated for your art!💯 Even though, it's a great place to visit when you need alone time. Take the whole family, even your pet! See what's under the bridge. More than sunrises, and sunsets! Top 5 favorite places in the metro!😍🥰🥰🥰😍💖💖💯💯
One of the locals' best sunset spots of Minneapolis, MN.

This is totally a real bridge so you don’t have to swim or ferry across…just drive over it
Really gorgeous, I always stop here and watch the city during my bike rides
Nice view of the city. Places to sit and take a quick break before hitting the connected bikeways.
Great view of downtown Minneapolis
Connects the Camden community on the west side of the Mississippi to 37th Avenue Northeast to Minneapolis on the east. It links Webber Parkway (on the west) to St. Anthony Parkway on the east side, completing a link in the Grand Rounds. It was built in 1977.

So I'm not much of a bridge guy. And I've never really had a use for one, or even a good excuse to use one. But one day I set aside my beliefs and tried this bridge and it wasn't that bad. I can't believe I actually drove across this bridge without incident. I mean, who would have thought this bridge would Span the Mississippi river and get me from point A to B...
A rare Fausto Veranzio cable stay bridge design first imagined by the Venetian in 1595 that honors 14 term US Representative Martin Olav Sabo. Sabo who comes from the old Minnesota Scandinavian liberal traditionan was a major cycling advocate, hence the bridge being named after him. It is one of the best urban vistas in Minneapolis, and a great place to watch the sunset, or a thunderstorm roll in. In the evening it is often a gathering place for local cycling professionals; messengers, mechanics, bike shop workers. In 2012 the cables on part of the bridge failed due to the wind creating violent harmonics on the cables. That's the official story, but there are others you may here if you ask people on the bridge. On the west end there is a sign that describes the cantilever design that is worth reading if you like engineering.
The pedestrian bridge offers a great view of the Minneapolis skyline and is a favorite spot for watching the sunset.
