It's a good bridge that keeps the trains dry as they go across the river. I often sit in the park and try to use my mind to make the trains go backwards. It worked the one time but the guy on the train yelled at me so I had to stop.

Not a big fan of this bridge. It was $11 million over budget, and it is out of place. Ooh, it changes colors, big whoop! The previous Lowry Bridge had way more character in NE Minneapolis. MnDOT and the CI of Minneapolis would have come out ahead financially if they had repaired and restored the previous bridge, built new piers, and made it a historical landmark.

Visiting from out of town and wandered into the are during a walkabout. The stone arch bridge immediately took my breath away upon arriving in the area. I spent hours walking on and around the bridge and the surrounding area. Minneapolis has a lot of incredible sights and this is just one of them. Great views of the falls and the nearby lochs and dam. Highly recommend planning a day in the mill district. Tje nostalgia and views are quite enjoyable.

A very fun and easy walk over the Mississippi on the edge of downtown. Plenty of space on the bridge for walkers, bikers, strollers, etc. Easily one of the best places to go watch a sunset in Minneapolis.
Honestly, this is a very peaceful bridge to be on. Usually, I am uncomfortable being around water, and heights freak me out, but I enjoyed being on this bridge. It had some nice views to look at the city.

Great place for walking as they have an asphalt walkway across the bridge in a long down the side of it where the ruins are. Can also ride a bicycle in a dedicated lane across the bridge

I grew up in North.Minneapolis and walked over the rusty green bridge all the time.I moved to Texas and when I came back this beautiful bridge was here it was well overdue. Good job!

It's poorly defined and hard to see. I tried to go across it and fell off into the river. Fortunately I landed in the shallow section, but still. I went back to complain to the bridge's manager and he just flicked cigarette ash at me. I emailed the city and they just rickrolled me.

One of my two absolute favorite places! I mise well call it home, without living there.. It is so beautiful and relaxing, especially if you find the trail. You can go down to the river and just regulate yourself. Sometimes there are artist that are playing music on the bridge, I've seen photographers, dancers, "moped parade" yesterday. Some of the things I don't like? How many scooters get thrown over the bridge, or carts or strollers! Parking is really cheap if you do the street parking, its only $1/hour.
Linoleum floors, cool to take pics from.

This is a great spot to take in the splendor of the Mississippi River as it flows past downtown Minneapolis. Lots of benches to relax on with plenty of nearby restaurants and cafes to enjoy. It’s well worth a visit.

This place is just so beautiful and free of cost! (Parking does have a cost though).

You can cross over the Mississippi River, look at new and old buildings. There some parks surrounding the bridge.

There are locals running and exercising. Tourists taking pictures and videos. Young people dancing and recording fun videos.

Early morning or before sunset are the best times to visit.
Incredible walking experience. Brought me right over the road. Excellent!
Such wonderful views of the city and of the falls. There were a lot of people but it never felt crowded. So much to do right in the area.

Beautiful bridge. Definitely worth visiting to take a light stroll down the bridge. Just down the bridge is a park and cute cafes to grab a bite. Mill ruins museum can also be seen from the bridge and the Minneapolis skyline can also be observed from here. Ticket is not needed to visit this bridge. There is lock and dam tour available which may require advance ticket purchase. I would suggest strolling here in the evening since you would be able to enjoy the evening colors here.

Yes it's a bridge and it does what bridges are meant to do: 1. Get vehicles and pedestrians across the river, and 2. Not collapse. This particular bridge, however, is highly aesthetic and and it's fun to take pictures of it, especially when it's all lit up at night!

I love watching Canada Pacific here, especially when it's 146, 147, 148, 149, 444, 445. 242, 243, J42, J17, J21, 540, 541, 576, 577, 644, 645, 340, 341, 342, 343, 345, 346, 348, 349, 350
Historically Beautiful- slow slow slow down and appreciate our MPLS history.
Very cool railroad bridge to take pictures of, but it is to be respected as it's still very much an active train bridge.
The bridge itself and it's architecture is nothing special, and to be honest it can be a little creepy walking underneath it when there's no one else around except a couple sketchy looking guys standing under it while you approach, with a third guy following you from behind (yeah that happened... scared me to death but I took a detour and came out unscathed). That being said, the area around the bridge is beautiful and you can get some really good skyline pics from it. There's also a line of parks following the river as well as the Mississippi Walking Trail so there's lots to see around it as well!

As I write this the bridge is labelled the "Great Northern Bridge." This is completely wrong, it is the Soo Line bridge, now operated by Canadian Pacific. It was never a Great Northern bridge. It is a great historical piece of Minneapolis history, a city all too happy to destroy its historic roadway bridges.
Great views of the Minneapolis skyline and surrounding train lines. The bridge itself has a neat aesthetic steel beam design which makes for fun sunset drives, and interesting photography opportunities. Very walkable/bike-able area, there is an extra wide bike path over the bridge and designated walking sidewalk on the other side of traffic. Good place for fall scenery and train watching.
Yet another awesome bridge in NE MPLS. The arches are so perfect and beautiful, it's so eye catching! It's also really fun to photograph. The only part of it I don't particularly enjoy is having to drive over it, because there is a large bike lane and it can be confusing for drivers and also makes the lanes very narrow. But in my opinion the pros definitely outweigh the cons!
Cool historic bridge, nice views of the city on both sides of the actual street. I've never seen a bridge like this one, and despite living in the Twin Cities area (Eagan) for my entire life I only saw it for the first time recently. I feel like a tourist or something but the bridge itself as well as the surrounding area are just so fun to go to I can't stay away!
I did not realize you could review bridges lol. Okay-ish veiws of the city. Came here for the Target fireworks becuase we did not want to drive in downtown. View was blocked by trees and too far away to feel the fireworks. Did get a nice reflection in the river when the fireworks did go above the treeline.

The metalwork is overflowing with cobwebs though. The pedestrian pathway is decently wide and there is a dedicated bike lane. Overall a good bridge. Just not the ideal spot for watching fireworks.
Gotta give it 5 stars since the bike lane is separated with a concrete barrier instead of just being painted onto the road. As someone who crosses the Mississippi every day on a bike to commute to work this is way better than the Hennepin Ave bridge as a way to get North of the river. We deserve to have a SAFE bike lane on all river crossings but until then at least I can go out of my way a little to cross here and not feel like I’m going to get killed.
This is the oldest existing Skyway in Minneapolis. I hear it opened June 12, 1963.

Let’s say it’s a bridge.

I had high expectations. Once again, it’s a bridge.

Took a quick picture. It’s is nice. Romantic at best. Small bridge.

Recommend if you want to see a neon bridge. Better than some other bridge in MN.

Cool bridge. I Iike when they light it up for special occasions, such as it being lit up blue and yellow in solidarity with Ukraine.
Great place to watch trains ,also nice bridge to walk over..
Railfanning at the Northtown BNSF yard in Minneapolis MN on 4 July 2021
Awesome view of the city!!
Me and my buddy. We called this place choo choo jungle...there are piped in bird noises to keep the pigeons from roosting. We don’t mind.
This bridge provides spectacular views of downtown Minneapolis skyline, Boom Island activities and is an important cycling connection.
Nicely rebuilt with separated bike lanes and sidewalks with great views of downtown, i35w Bridge and the U of M.
This bridge was originally constructed in 1905 and is the main line crossing of the Mississippi River for the Canadian Pacific Railway transcontinental (Soo Line Railroad) line.
This bridge was originally built in 1887 as one of the four spans of the Broadway Avenue Bridge.
Nicollet Island Mississippi Bridge, is a 2 span bridge on 1st Avenue NE and Hennepin Avenue NE, at Main Street NE. It is much overlooked because people think of it as being part of the Hennepin Avenue Bridge, which it isn't.
Terrific view of the rail yards and Minneapolis skyline, plus there is a display of the bridge's history.
Great train watching bridge.

My regular walks lead me across this bridge regularly. The metalwork present invigorates the mood of any who traverse from St. Anthony Main to Nicollet Island. If you look closely in the springtime you just might notice the corsages from various prom experiences. Take a moment to think on the years this bridge has lived.
A nice rebuild of a classic design.
This bridge was breathtaking for me. It was set on my itinerary months ago for this vacation and I am so happy that I got the opportunity to see it. My pictures do the bridge no justice. I have found better photos online.

Dont be fooled by the rest, this bridge is the best. I made 5pm reservations at the bridge and we were seated on time. The wine was great and the steak was seared to perfection. Now we've been to the stone arch and the hennepin ave bridge. But nothing compares to the artsy romantic interior of the wonderous 10th ave bridge.

Great place to photograph at sunrise/sunset, grab a drink at Betty's afterwards.
Beautiful old steel truss bridge connecting historic Main Street to Nicollet Island. One of the few remaining steel truss bridges in the Twin Cities.
Cool bridge..needs some work
Wonderful bridge and a beautiful school. Shamefully, nobody knew who Berryman was while I was there.
Stay safe. Don't eat the hotdogs.

Side note: southbounders will appreciate knowing that the "10" turns into a "19" without due warning or process. Rude? Maybe...
