The security guard working on February 3rd was really rude and didn’t let me in . I went to the next market . But I wouldn’t recommend to go to this place. They are losing money for not letting people go inside .
Walked across the Brooklyn Bridge to explore DUMBO and we were excited to visit the Time Out Market for lunch options. Definitely a variety of things ranging from barbecue to Italian to Thai food. Not as many options as I expected for the NYC location but still very fun with interesting art around the building. Lots of places to sit and enjoy the lively environment. The view of the Manhattan Bridge from the food court was amazing!
Great selection of food ! Why queue 1h in Manhattan when you can get it in 15-20 min ? Pancakes, fried chicken and Texas bbq are super good. Go upstairs for rooftop and great view
They have good sales. It's too small not enough space to move around with the shopping carts
Such a cool vibe here. It made sitting down for a meal a little more relaxing and fun. The breakfast we got was good. Coffee was excellent and the French toast was good. The B.E.L.T. I had was really good.
Pricey, very small store and some of the meat don't look to good which was a big disappointment. It's only good to go there when they have a sale.

Foodtown is a great supermarket by me . Plenty of parking ,nice layout inside with a lot of fresh products . Also staff is very kind and pretty helpful .
Nice service no long waiting time for yur food to be delivered
Fresh Products, clean, professional and Friendly. Great prices.
The ramen was good, the atmosphere is marketplace like. It was still pretty pricey for what it was and I would recommend checking out some of the restaurants in the area that would cost around the same. If you’re settled here, the broth was good and the portion was good. It was difficult to find a table.
Amazing market. Tons of food but we didn't eat there. Five floors includes rooftop with amazing views of Manhattan, Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, Dumbo, etc. West Elm there too. Walking to other great spots as well. Tell 'em Barsnobs sent ya!
So many better shopping options in the neighborhood. This place has gotten severely more overpriced than everywhere else. Everything here is $4+ dollars more than every other supermarket for the same exact items. Most vegetables especially organic options are always near rotten.
5 star dance music at all times. Excellent prices with membership card considering every other surrounding grocery store ( I have personally checked) I cried tears of joy when I found this place
Though the store has variety, I've come home with mouldy products – which should never happen. Products should be thoroughly checked.
Always a pleasure shopping here. Everyone is always pleasant and helpful.
The prices at this supermarket are notably higher compared to other Foodtown stores in the area. While they do offer more organic products, the selection is quite limited and pricey. It would be great to see a broader variety and better quality of produce, including organic options. Additionally, there aren't many choices when it comes to grass-fed and organic meat.

One unique aspect is that it's the only supermarket in the area that asks you to check your bags. However, it would be nice to see more diverse ethnic brands and a wider range of international products on their shelves.
Been shopping here for many years so I can almost find anything blindfolded. They have free delivery for purchases over $50. Clean and organized.
This spot offers an unbeatable view of the Manhattan skyline from Brooklyn. The location couldn’t be better. The food and drink options are top-notch.

The only hiccup is the petite terrace. Some folks were enjoying their fare outside the designated area, despite glassware rules. As for pricing, non-American visitors might find it a tad steep. Oh and they have very looong line for the washrooms.

Overall, a memorable experience!

Lots of variety and delicious foods at reasonable prices. Great Asian food market and upstairs there is more shopping, collectibles, pottery, arcade claw machine games and more. My only caution is not to show up in the last hour that they are open since many vendors shut down early if they're not busy.

The younger guy that is Hispanic is hella RUDE!!! All I want to know why the sign says $2.99 and I was charged $3.99 before tax. And he kept repeating “it’s tax”. Sir, maybe it’s time to go back to school… Tax is listed on a separate row and does not scan to be $3.99…. and 8.875% of 2.99 does not bring it to 4.35. He started making faces… Nasty attitude. The guy who seems to be a manager needs some training also. Sure don’t know how to be one…
Great selection of produce, canned goods, meat, and more! Everything is fresh, employees are fantastic and very friendly, this place has a parking lot + food deliveries are available. They change the window decorations monthly, and they look wonderful, as shown in the photos below. I’d definitely recommend coming here as you won’t be disappointed by the variety of food.

Edit: I've been having issues regarding the freshness of products, beef I have bought here were going bad in the packaging. A watermelon gone bad was also pre-cut then packaged, beware of this because watermelons gone bad may look or smell fine but they taste sour or have a "fizzy" feel to them. I spoke to the manager and returned the meat and watermelon for a refund, Staff are always friendly, but I'm really disappointed by the lack of freshness.
Great place to buy groceries but a very small to get around in especially if you have a wheelchair 🦼.

This location was a storage place for many many years since we moved into this neighborhood in 1995, but now it’s home to many stores including this High end supermarket which my husband visited today 09/03/2023 @ around 4:40 pm. As soon he entered he was being stared down by 3 male Spanish employees. As he proceeded further into the store he was being followed by one of the Spanish male. So my husband turned around and asked him “are you following me”? and he answered “no I thought you needed helped”. Do they do that to all customers? or is it only the black man? Black people being living in this neighborhood way before this gentrification started happening. So we are not going anywhere. We will visit and shop at your store anytime. This is our home and we are not going anywhere. We shouldn’t have to feel that we don’t belong.
I was very unhappy shopping in this store today. When I went in, I was called out by the doorman of the supermarket and asked me to store my shopping bags on the outer shelf. However, only my bag was placed on the shelf, and then the doorman gave it to me. A white round card, I entered the supermarket and found that many people had their own shopping bags in their hands, and some people were carrying large backpacks. I'm not in the mood to buy anything, I feel humiliated here, I don't know why Mr. Supermarket doorman is not being treated fairly.
this is the only grocery store near me where stuff costs a normal or okay amount of money and they got focaccia pretty often, which is important to me. focaccia is necessary to me.
Two day search succeeded thanks to brother Eddie I had an absolute blast here a bit pricey however family and friends are in and out that makes for a great experience thank you.
I think they turn off the refrigerators at night. The ice cream is always clearly refrozen and the meat is questionable.

I mostly go there to shop on the second floor- that part of the store is amazingly well stocked at reasonable prices. Whoever is a buyer for that section of the store is doing a great job at it.
Love that they have WYNK

Great store

Had a good experience at this place in Dumbo. We came on a weekday and had a lot of good food options. We first went to Clinton St Baking to order an Iced Chai Latte and Mixed berry scone then I had pork belly buns and my friend ordered a vegan Indian dish. Food was delicious and they are a bit expensive but worth it. Went to the rooftop and had a great view and there are other food options to try as well. It was my first time here and will be back to try other places to eat there!!
Not one of the better stores, deals can be found but many deceptive advertisements and misleading signage makes it easy to spend more than u should. Owner not nice, frequent staff turnover, they even make u check ur bags as they must have a theft problem, probably due to folks feeling ripped off too many times. Wish it could be a whole foods instead!!
way over priced, mr. kale on franklin has better veg and fruit and is about the same. this supermarket is for the gentry that live in the glass residential part of this building.
Great neighborhood spot. The owner supports kids

We thoroughly enjoyed visiting this little patch of Japan culture! We tried some of the food court restaurants and everything was delicious. Highly recommend!
Honestly the best supermarket I've been to in Brooklyn. The food selection is very good. The prices aren't wholesale, but they're not outrageous. The produce, bakery and deli are always fresh and clean. They offer alot of great services including delivery and pick up. Both are done professionally for reasonable prices. I love shopping here.
Store is really big and nice looking. I was excited to go in! The inside was as i expected. Then i started shopping, saw some tags and the price seemed alright.(sale items) Then as i walked each isle, the real prices were showing. Omg, i cant afford the food here! Prices were crazy!! oh, the meat was expensive too. I bought cup of soups and anything i could by at sale price that I ate. Was a real disappointed, just moved here and now I have to find another place to shop. Anyone know of another food store in this area? Reasonable prices??

This place is of the area, I went in for regular roll and deli meat. I saw specialty beads and a cheese and olive bar, (I got some smoked guda cheese - which was very good). If you are looking for a specialty grocery store, this is the place.

Went to 3 grocery stores, including Whole Foods, looking for Fresno peppers and Napa cabbage, and this place had them both! Very clean, nice looking produce and friendly staff. This may be my new go-to grocery store in the neighborhood.
The store has many options of food that are friendly for everyone. (;ie vegans or people with nute allergies) But checking out is where most troubles are if you remove an item from the platform it will say something if you put down something on the platform it will say something. Aside from that the store isn't too bad but it is extremely overpriced.
Nice people who work there. Great variety of items. Good hours.
Good morning I have a very bad experience yesterday with the Mexican manager. he is very bad educated and has no behavior to talk to customers. I go there because it is close to my house so after work I pick what I need. I purchased two packs of soda Coca Cola and sprite they both tasted sour. I called the store and they said I can change it or take money back I told them I did not want money back I can take something else they said ok. when I was at the counter He came out with his bad attitude on front of every body. I told him you can keep the money and the soda. I end up paying for the things I took. my question is why we keep going there. this have to stop. also all the meat they have are very old,

Super neat place to visit if you're around. Took the kids there for the japanese comic book store. They have vintage video games on sale there with tons of anime figures and gifts. They also have a food market on the first floor although the things were a little overpriced. But considering there isn't another japanese market around I guess the higher prices are expected. There's also some restaurants and bar in the connected buildings. It's a cool place to visit if you're around. They have these cute little toy vending machine like the one's in asia. There's a few other neat little shops in there and a video game room that's $5 person. We didn't have much time so we didn't visit the game room. The decor is very nice and it's a nice place to take pictures or just enjoy a little afternoon time relaxing with friends and family.

This is probably the best supermarket in Bay Ridge. It's very clean organized and the shelves are fully stocked. The prices are okay. But I watch out for the sale items since we have several mouths to feed. The meat and chicken appear to be fresh and well stocked. Occasionally, we'll buy sandwiches and prepared foods during lunch. The fruits and vegetables are always fresh and well stocked. Checking out is easy. I usually do the self checkout and the staff is always willing to help if I have a problem. The cashiers are are also very good. Always polite efficient friendly
and professional.

I love this as my local go to. Lots of variety packed into a small space with everything you need. Great vegan options! Has a huge beer selection for those that imbibe. Prices are moderate for the area, best if you can catch sales (they do always have deals). The staff are super pleasant, and I seem to walk out of there laughing or smiling after checking out. Always say an extra hi to the security guy because he knows me by now. The best part though is the soundtrack! I always catch myself boppin’ and sometimes find the songs stuck in my head later in the day. I’ve even seen dance videos being made in here, ha!

Great selection of food, just wished they had more registers other than that everything is great about this place versus the other supermarkets in the neighborhood
Secruity is rude. You can’t take any bags or backpacks into the store (which I’ve had zero problems with anywhere else). Most workers act like you don’t exist and treat you like it’s a hassle to help. Meat section is questionable. I’ll give my business to other stores locally that are happy to have customers in their store.

SO CLEAN AND FRESH INSIDE THE STAFF IS VERY POLITE... NICE FAMILY SUPER MARKET
Very nice supermarket with great prices.
This is probably one of the worst supermarkets in Brooklyn! I was unfortunate enough to buy rotten fish here. Not only was it sold as "fresh salmon" with a shelf life of over 10 days, but it was actually spoiled, and the packaging even stated that it was tilapia. Clearly, the store manager is trying to minimize losses from expired fish by repackaging ones that have already gone bad. On top of that, I'm constantly being deceived when the price at the checkout turns out to be higher than what was indicated on the shelf tag. Of course, the manager refunds the money for the poor-quality items and the price difference, but there is no compensation offered and not even an apology. I do not recommend this Foodtown or any of their stores to anyone!..
cashiers ALWAYS have attitudes!! Angry that you have to do YOUR job.. if you don’t like it then quit
I haven't had any problems with the store. I love the food. It is fresh. Every thing is good. Thankyou.
One of the main managers of the store is extremely rude and tried to convince me that yellowing frozen fish with freezer burn that is loose in the bag is safe for consumption and that I shouldn’t buy frozen fish if I don’t want that. If you look it up on any reputable source those are clear signs that it has spoiled due to not being properly stored. The way he spoke to me was unacceptable and showed his severe lack of knowledge. He kept cutting me off and raising in his voice in a way that was extremely unprofessional. It’s a shame that he feels so comfortable with selling spoiled food. So many of the produce are also spoiled. I will not be supporting them anymore and highly suggest that you shop elsewhere if you have another option.

Love how this whole neighborhood of old factories and warehouses have been revamped to Loft style buildings that host shops, game themed businesses, food and arts. There are multiple buildings and each one connects via a courtyard passageway. Japan Village is Building 4 and contains an amazing food court, Japanese Supermarket, Daiso, and Book Off - a lot of Anime goodies and Manga. I wish I lived closer, I'd come every week!! Indoor and outdoor seating, restroom areas are plenty and clean. Very trendy and fun for the entire family. Each building has so much to see and on multiple floors. Enjoy!
The store is big and clean but, the management of the store is questionable🤔. I went there with my shopping cart and was told to leave it 🙃up front with security🙃. However, I had placed it inside the cart that I was using and was told by a "guard" that carts aren't allowed in the store. What kind of bs is that 🤔? I go there to buy food, not steal. Uncomfortable with all the security from front to back of store😐.
They have amazing deals with exotic products! Literally can't find them anywhere but here. Family owned, and they treat me well!

I love visiting this place! There's Daiso, which has just about everything for great prices. I love Sunrise Mart, they sell all kinds of Japanese products—from cosmetics to groceries. I also had lunch at Hachi and enjoyed the takoyaki and okonomiyaki.
I've been going there for over 35 years. It is run by the most kindness family who just love what they do -- feed and provide you with whatever you need to keep healthy and not poor. A perfect example is before closing everyday, they announce that their delicious sushi that is meticulously prepared are half price. It's not just that they believe that worldwide food waste is a problem and that is primarily the reason why there is starvation in other countries that sell all their resources for profit while most of the people have nothing to eat but because they want to give their neighbors a break during these hard times. Thier philosophy is contagious. There are times that neighboring stores bring their food over to be given free at the end of the day so it does not get wasted and at the same time promote their goods. Kindness is not dead yet.
Clean market with really great staff. Very helpful. Deli, meat and fish counter staff is great. Management is always visible and ready to help. Register Cashier team is quick and also great. You've won our business time and time again. Thank you.
1. Overpriced
2. Produce is not fresh. Bought baby kale that had a week before expiry and it was mostly yellow
3. They treat you like a criminal by forcing you to leave your bags at the door.

It was my second time visiting Japan Village and loved it even more! Don’t miss out in the other floors and building. The Daiso was better experience than some others I’ve been to around NY. There are so many cute shops, and well curated stores for anyone who likes unique boutique food stores, home goods and clothes shops. The Japanese food court is fun too for a quick meal, but I like the restaurants. Just remember they take a midday break between lunch and dinner. It’s a foodie heaven. Enjoy the ramen, onigiri, takoyaki, and more! Fun for all ages!
Food is always fresh and store is clean and well organized. The only thing I dislike is being followed around the store. It almost happens every time I go there so taking away 2 stars. They should be aware of who their regulars are and also change their policy on following people of color. Cashiers can also be rude and speak in Spanish about you so be aware.
Great service they have a good selection of fresh fish and other seafoods! And the rest of items are pretty reasonable prices!

Japan village is fantastic! Their grocery store has so many wonderful items that are hard to find anywhere else. I lived in Japan for 3 years, so this store is perfect for finding all of the things that make me nostalgic ☺️
10/10 local co-op grocery store. Very competitive with produce pricing, which is what I primarily buy there. Checkout is always quick

I always come here to grab a lunch or coffee on weekdays. I like the food here and friendly staff. But today there is a women who stepped on my foot on purpose and push me! She was standing in front of the hot food bar without buying anything or taking any lunchbox. She looks so suspicious and I argued with her after she pushed me. I asked her what are you doing here? She said she was ordering online but I stand in front of her. I was so mad because I was just chose my food and even not touch her. So why this women come to the store and standing in front of the food bar but "order online". Just excuses. Just wanna bother people or ruin their days? And when other customers and staffs noticed we're arguing, she showed her middle finger to me. I don't want to waste any time with her and the staff indicated this women always did something strange to the customers! My friend was buying coffee there and heard the noise and came to comfort me. I just think about the possibility that she might spitting into the hot food bar everyday considered her behavior and the food is open to the air. Please be aware!
Everything is so over priced. Or the cut things in half like cabbage and fruits and still charge full price. They never have good sales. And it really reaps in the meat department. Which makes me skeptical to purchase meat from there.

Japan Village in Industry City is a hidden gem for anyone seeking authentic Japanese cuisine and groceries. The curry rice is a standout dish, with rich and complex flavors that are sure to satisfy any craving for comfort food. The generous portions and reasonable prices make it an excellent value as well. In addition to the food, the grocery section offers a wide range of Japanese products, from snacks and sweets to household essentials. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the overall atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. I highly recommend Japan Village for anyone looking to experience a taste of Japan in Brooklyn.
Looking for a supermarket that has everything you need? Look no further than this one! With a well-organized layout and a wide variety of products to choose from, you'll be able to find everything you need in one convenient location. And if you're not interested in shopping for yourself, they offer online order and in person pick up. Whether you're shopping for groceries or just browsing, you won't be disappointed at this supermarket.
Nice clean store. Has a nice variety of products. Friendly staff. Owner is a gentleman, always listens to customers when he's around. Upgrading some dairy refrigerators soon.
Good selection, definitely go for whatever is on sale that week because it will be DEEPLY discounted. Owner is great and the staff and employees make you feel welcome.
Wonderful theater, staff are great. Very clean, and you can't beat these prices. It's so nice to have a fantastic small theater in the area. It reminds me that I love going to the movies!

The staff are crooks. They will overcharge you. Ring you up for a pound of apples even though you only have one apple and it is not a pound. They close at 8 and will rush you out at 7:45. Staff is rude. Prices are high. Quality is poor. Go somewhere else.
very clean and tidy store, it has a lot of things, and good quality! my daughter Michelle works at the cash register, she is wonderful and very professional at her job! I am very pleased to hear from strangers good words about her! And I love Italian music in the store!

Very upscale, friendly staff, amazing selection and reasonably priced with most things it seems. My salad was $13 but it was custom and I got a lot of stuff. Medium soup was only $5 and slices of pizza were 2 something and 3 something with toppings. Lots of premade food too. I came in for a salad and left with a lot more than I expected.
Shop Fair is run by Cubans and Columbians and has an amazing selection of hard to find condiments such a Wasabi Mayonnaise, Siracha Mayonnaise, Barbecue Mayonnaise, Honey Mustard, Both Grey and Brown Poupon Mustard, Jewish Deli Mustard, Home Herbs Cooking Wine, Japanese Condiments, the largest selection of any local store of West Indian Items, Whacky Mac and Allegra Vegetable Flour Pastas, Grape Seed Oil, Freshest Smelling Meat Section, Coldest Grocery Store, Largest Selection of Every Known American Beer, Largest Selection of Local Wines, Best Variety of Hard to Find Coffee Brands. Best Price on 18 eggs $4.99 12 eggs 2.99... Best Family Deli.

This place is really cool, lots of great food options. The courtyard area is nice, there’s some seating. They had heat lamps out and a fire pit. Definitely, recommend checking it out.
My go-to neighborhood grocery store for the last two year, since moving into the neighborhood.

Clean, well stocked, well organized. Very helpful crew who can always point you to the correct aisle for a specific item. Much better than doing your grocery shopping in a bodega. (why do people do that?)

Their fresh deli meat counter closes about an hour before the store does. (~7pm) Just refurbished the deli area too. They have pre-cut meats as a backup.

Bulk coffee and dried nuts are nice to have. Prepared salads and other items are sometimes expired and still on the shelf, and produce can be hit or miss.
I only ever go here because it’s the closest grocery store near me so if I ever need anything quick I can just walk over however it’s so overpriced! it’s a small danky little grocery store you would think it would be cheap but no they literally will mark up items 50 to 60%. not cool. i will only go here if I absolutely have to. check out the markup on this Parmesan cheese

I visited Japan village in Monday night. It was odd because all the stores closed at 7:00 pm .
I guess may will be open later in the weekend night.
I had the ramen inside of the Japan market .
It was very authentic Japanese style ramen 🍜
Spicy miso ramen is $16 per order was good
Classical ramen also is $16 also good .
The vibe is so romantic and very suitable for dating.
🥰😍
Friendly staffs, Good selection of foods, sometimes fresh veggies/fruits. They do not offer alot of vegan options, Nor options for diabetic. They do sometimes scan items twice. Sales are decent but it’s overpriced sometimes.
Good service. Friendly deli service. Very friendly cashier. Up from North Carolina but grew up across the street.
Was able to be my latino products not available in NC to take back. It was a pleasureable experience.
Thank you.
Great produce section and really good prepared foods including a pizza bar. Really big inside and a well organized checkout. Not clear on when the butcher is actually around to make special cuts.
We are so glad you have come to our neighborhood. They have managed to pack a huge amount of items into what seemed to be a small space. It is a beautiful store and the people working there are very friendly.
It's a good place to shop for anything you might need, it'll get five⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars (when they start putting out more sales instead of trying to be slick with the sneaky price🔖 charges for certain items.... You buy a can of soup or something when They scan the products, most of the time the price that comes up is wrong. They scam too much.

Super-impressed with this store - family owned since '56. Not big, but well stocked. Neat as a pin. At opening this morning, an army of employees straightening and cleaning. Wonderful produce, bakery, and meat departments. Great selection of fresh ready-mades. Really first rate effort form these folks
Smaller than some of the larger supermarkets in the neighbourhood. Great selection of fresh seafood makes it worth a regular visit.
This Market is very convenient fresh produce and fish, price$$ good as well, location excellent costumer service on point I buy every week.
