We visited on a Friday night and had an amazing time. The food & drinks were great, everything came to the table quickly. Our server was sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant’s aesthetic is fun and it's tucked away in a quiet part of the city. We had the birria tacos, enchiladas, spicy & regular margaritas, street corn and tres leches cake. They also have a late-night happy hour during the weekend called “outlaw hour”- so cute! Everything was great and we look forward to coming back soon.
This place hits the spot for brunch (and other meals I assume) - we had great service and the food/drinks were excellent. I got the jesucristo sandwich and would highly recommend! Looking forward to coming back soon
We were visiting DC from Texas and we've been burned before by so called "Tex Mex" restaurants, but this one is a true gem. You want authentic Tex Mex, definitely hit this place. Frozen margaritas, great queso, fajitas were so tender and delicious. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could. Great atmosphere, great service. You gotta go.

My honest review will not be a great review on this restaurant. Although this location has such a beautiful setting on the inside and outside of the perimeter, the customer service aspect was lacking. I had such high expectations the first time I visited this place, but one of my orders was missing and I had to return to the restaurant. Today, I gave this restaurant a second chance and I ordered from to-go again. While I was waiting for my food, I informed the bartender of my last experience and as expected, something else was missing from my orders. Both times, I went back to the restaurant after opening my food at work. I had such a poor experience that I will not be returning to this restaurant.

Had brunch on the patio. Great spot tucked away just one block from New York Avenue. Our server Hope was phenomenal - she was super attentive and pleasant. She recommended the brisket hash special which was great. The big portions made great leftovers to serve on top of nachos the next day. Can’t wait to go back to try the breakfast tacos.

From beginning to end, every moment was enjoyable. The Bartender Danny was really cool and generous. We were a party of 4 and a baby, he was very accommodating and offered great suggestions. Drinks were very good, we each had margaritas and shots. For food we had a few appetizers and Tacos. I specifically had the Putacos which should be a regular item on the menu considering how delicious it is! At some points the music was good and we got up to dance. And lastly we finished with more shots and dancing and pictures with the neon signs. Such a great time here.
Great Tex mex and happy hour deals. Cool vibe on the inside and cute patio. Margaritas were spot on.

Airbnb host recommended this place. The salsa was better than most and all three of us enjoyed the food. Would come back again. Sound level inside was getting higher at 2:02 Sunday afternoon as more people were arriving. Could still have a conversation, but if you use hearing aids outside may work better. Lots of outdoor seating in the shade.
Man, I wish I had tried this place sooner! I walked here after the zoo and truly enjoyed the chicken tacos & had 2 mojitos that were to die for!
Oh how QDOBA use to be so good…I recently thought it’d be a good idea to go here instead of Chipotle since Chipotle is always giving small portions.

It gets busy in here but the employees are rockstars! We've been here several times and it's always fresh and delicious!
The one star is for the food because it was good. Now. The service….the hostess was inattentive and almost seemed bothered to show us to the table. The server came and it continued downhill. She went back and forth multiple times when we asked about separate checks. She stated they’ve never done separate checks and we were mistaken. Literally I was there with a party in January (2024) and November (2023) a different party and checks were split by the restaurant. She continued about it and I literally said if that is not the policy now, that’s fine. However it definitely was. To which she replied no, not in the years I’ve been here. Ok. Again, I have no issue with that being the current policy. But myself and others in the party absolutely have done it as recently as this year. Once the food came out, that was a wrap. She didn’t come back until almost every single person was done. No refilling of the drinks or asking if we wanted a refill, nothing. I let her know we had a came and she seemed bothered when asking what I needed. I asked for small plates and forks. Now, each time we have an event here, we’ve always been asked what we were celebrating or was it a special occasion. This has been a trend as the food has brought us back. She never asked and clearly wasn’t concerned-and we were celebrating a huge milestone event for my child. . It literally felt like she took the attitude of “it’s a party over a certain number, so I get my tip automatically built in.” That’s a horrible way to service people. It ended with not even a thanks for coming or anything. Her just chatting with co-workers and ignoring us after she took the paid bill. Sad. I guess we will have to find another spot for our quartet functions.
We visited Lauriol Plaza on Mother’s Day. It was crowded but we were seated quickly. The young lady that helped us was attentive and the food arrived quickly. The tamales were tasty. The salsa had a little heat to it which was good. The carne asada was sizzling when it arrived. I liked the Mexican butter. The shrimp tacos were good. Overall, I would go back again to eat here. We also had the Margarita swirl which was good.

The food is good but the attitude of the manager sucks. Came with a big group and they seemed overwhelmed, stressed, mixed up orders, and she threatened to make us pay for the correct order. The other staff was kind, but she seemed annoyed and wasn’t welcoming.

The lemonade (with lime added) receives the same regards. Fresh, the right amount of tartness and sweetness. 10/10

Happened past on a Tuesday at dinner time. I am so thankful we stopped in. The food was delicious, portion sizes were great, and it all came out hot. The atmosphere was phenomenal and the staff from start to finish were friendly and professional. This will be a favorite location and I can't wait to share with visiting family and friends.
Unfortunately food was not that great at all! Even tho was not super busy we still have to wait almost 40min. I have the tamarindo margarita which was horrible. At list the Ceviche was good.

Everything ordered was delicious. Only Problem was that portions were super large, too large to finish in one sitting. Taking home leftovers is a necessity. The service was friendly & efficient. The decor was rather cold & not really inviting. The prices were very reasonable.
It felt so good to have a plethora of choices for both myself and my partner. He's vegan. I'm not. Food was delicious. Service was outstanding. Great date night!
I am reading all these negative reviews and feel like I went to a different restaurant. I really enjoyed the visit. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, our drinks were good and the food was delicious. The restaurant has a beautiful Mexican decor, and one wonderful thing I noted was that it was quiet. The dining room has only five tables, so you have an almost private dinner unlike at the majority of other places where the dining area is so big that there is always a group of screaming people that ruin your whole experience. We are definitely going back soon.

This place was amazing. The food was extremely fresh NOTHING frozen. There drinks are amazing are worth the money. They gave us complementary shots before we got our checks and they were VERY generous with what they served us. Food is also reasonably priced. My friends and I are grad students and it was excellent.
Had a wonderful dinner here with friends on a busy Thursday night. Get here early, or make a reservation. The aesthetic of the building doesn’t scream Spanish Restaurant, but it’s comfortable and dim. The fresh chips and salsa are great. We had many rounds of margaritas, all consistent. The menu is vast and fair for the location and portions. We spent over five hours here and our server was constantly filling drinks and taking good care of us. Thank you for a wonderful dinner.
Me and my girlfriend come here all the time! This is our go to spot for margaritas and delicious Mexican food. The staff is really friendly and makes you feel like you're at home. The owner works hard to make this place one of the best in DC.

Incredible food with one of the best brunch deals in town! Bottomless drinks and bottomless food that you’ll eat too much of (in the best way 😉). Make sure to save room for the churros because you’ll think you’ve died and gone to heaven after one bite. If Tony (the manager), Ana or Misty are working then you’re in luck because you are guaranteed consistent friendly service throughout your visit.

In from New York and after some walking we stumbled upon this gem. The service was very good. Misty made sure we had everything we needed and even made sure my take out portion of our order was put in later in the evening so I could have it hot.
The food is a flavorfully authentic adventure for your tastebuds. You will most certainly appreciate their food options and their vegetarian accommodations. The inviting setting, scenery and music of the establishment was the cherry on top.

This restaurant is lovely. The food is out of the world and the drinks were phenomenal. totally worth the price. We had platter that could literally feed 6 people! The margarita pitcher served 6 full cups. Rafael took great care of my party of 9, who was celebrating my moms birthday. It was our first time visiting Lauriol Plaza and I will definitely be coming back to try more things on the menu
Got together here with my cousins for brunch yesterday and have the most amazing experience. We could not decide on doing the bottomless versus just doing individual entrées. We all decided on the bottomless brunch, and did not regret it at all. The food was absolutely excellent. All of the meats were seasoned to perfection, favors galore. There wasnt an item that we did not like! Service from our waiter. Donovan was outstanding. Will definitely be back.
Great for large group orders like getting food for the office. I scheduled my large order in advance and it was ready on-time and the staff was really helpful. I appreciate Alicia's help with sorting out the payment to reflect our tax exempt status.

This long-overdue review is a testament to the exceptional service we experienced. Despite being in a different time zone, the communication for our wedding reception was flawless. They proved to be a fantastic space for any event, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. The food surpassed our expectations, earning praise even from our Mexican family for its authenticity. The only drawback was the challenging parking situation, with limited options for larger vehicles. Nonetheless, the overall experience deserves a well-earned 5 stars.
First time at Surfside Wharf and the tacos/rice were just okay. Only tried the Al pastor tacos, which are normally my favorite. Service was friendly and quick. Perhaps just need to try a different item on the menu!
The food was delicious, service was great and the atmosphere was perfect. We went there to celebrate my birthday and will totally do it again next year. Food from different latin american backgrounds is always an excellent option when getting a group of people together.
If you have read the other reviews, ranting and raving about how much they enjoyed the tacos and how inexpensive they are. Believe them, I tried the Nevis and Birria taco. They were both very good but the Birria was something special. That's not taking anything away from the Nevis though. I will be back to try the others!
Quick service, excellent and flavourful, generous portion size. Overall great value for money, and can be taken down to eat by the waterside. We had Bora Bora and Cabo San Lucas tacos - both great.
Their happy hour is pretty awesome given it's location. Had several Hellbender IPAs and my wife had a few cocktails. The guac n' chips were freshly made. The flautas (happy hour deal... GET THEM!!) were also solid. Wife n' I bought tacos (carne asada n Baja)...but forgot to take pics...but they were the best tacos we've had on the East Coast.
Another outing with my ladies group. We hit up this place just off Connecticut Ave in NW Washington. Ample seating inside and out. The establishment is very colorful and eclectic in its decor. Quite beautiful, and I loved it.

Surfside at the D.C. Wharf is the perfect location for tacos along D.C.s beautiful waterfront. On a beautiful day the obvious option was to take away and enjoy Surfside along the waterfront. The Nevis tacos were great and I highly recommend the tres leches cake and strawberry lemonade. The order process was quick and easy at the kiosk and the food came out quickly on a busy day.

It's good. I love that they prepare their black beans from scratch daily and always order the enchiladas with them instead of the refried beans. Their margaritas are top notch. The fried platanos with cream appetizer is very good.
SOLID spot for taco Tuesday!! There’s $3 tacos and drink specials and dancing later in the evening. The manager, Mariah, RUNS that place! She’s doing such a good job! It’s noticeably different than other times I’ve been here! Such a fun vibe! 100% recommend and will definitely be back! :) I love the blood orange drink!
Good Food overall for a 3 time visit. The breakfast burrito/taco is very good. The place is designed to get you in and out. My past item is the Birria Taco. This was good the broth is flavorful. I'd personally like it to taste more beefy. Squeeze the lime you get in the broth for a different experience. E-TEA is beside the place, finish your meal w/a green tea, or bubble tea to settle your stomach after a good meal.
I found this hidden gem in DC near the Zoo, they have a variety of cuisines and you can see the flags on the menu next to each dish which I think is really clever; We had the Patacón burger, a passion fruit juice and a beer michelada Mexican-style, and everything was delicious, the atmosphere was nice too, can't wait to come back and try their Bandeja paisa.
We went into this Tex Mex Carribean Bistro 3321 and ordered dinner. I got the vegan tofu rice black bean pineapple bowl. It took a while before it arrived at our table; but it was such a beautiful presentation I thought I must be in Hawaii! It was georgeous and totally delicious!! We will definitely return.
Really just an awful experience start to finish. Ordered ahead on the app and the food was ready 20 minutes after the promised time. The restaurant was dirty, the sanitizer was empty, the soap dispenser in the bathroom was broken. The quesadilla was extremely disappointing. The whole thing was so mushy & wet and just not appealing at all. The chips & quac were great. They appeared fully staffed & everyone seemed to be working hard. But maybe not working smart? Oh, and the address and the pin absolutely do not match the actual location. Took me forever to find them. I've submitted an edit that will hopefully get approved. It's been a long time since I've been to a Qdoba, and I don't think I'll be going back.
Really great place overall, we had a very enjoyable bottomless brunch here.
We started with some virgin pina coladas and they were decent, not as good as mine but fine :)
The tapas style brunch was good overall, some great items and some just ok. The standout was their crisp and succulent empanadas with a delicious dipping sauce. Their patatas bravas were spicy and tender with just the right crispness. The Mexican omelette was just ok, but I enjoyed the accompanying salsa. The huevos rancheros was good, mostly the flavor of the beans was what I enjoyed.
Service was friendly and attentive. Place was spacious enough, a little dimly lit but still warm in terms of vibe.

My first time here I was visiting, and wanted to try something new. I got there just in time before they was finna close, and the young ladies where very nice with great customer service. The atmosphere was very clean, food was hot, and they was very nice to take my order last minute.. Food was Amazing, and the portions are huge😘
I'm from Texas and I can say they have very good Mexican food, but the service is lacking, even though they were not very busy. We arrived early afternoon and it took a while to get drinks served and take the order. Then, when the order came out there were only three meals for the four of us. We waited while they cooked the other order and brought it out. We had a good time and especially enjoyed the soft beef tacos, but we did a lot of waiting. They should have made the fourth meal they forgot complementary, but all they did was say they were sorry it took so long.
