Beautiful 360 views of the city and not crowded at all.

Beautiful panoramic views of the whole city on a clear day. Have to climb stairs to get up there and tends to be windy at the top. They have a couple benches for people to sit on and enjoy the view, and some parking available near the bottom. Have only ever been when it’s clear think it might be cool to check out when foggy as well!

This is a beautiful spot for panoramic and breathtaking views of the whole city. Right from downtown, to the Presidio where you can see the Golden Gate Bridge to the wonderful ocean that lets you capture three realms of the world. Climbing up the stairs is absolutely worth it. I had gone during evening and stayed up until the sunset which was really mesmerizing. The terrain on the top is little uneven and so just be watchful.
Carry some layers because it can get really windy.

Goodness, this place is amazing. No photo can do it justice--you really have to see it for yourself.

One of my most favorite views while I was staying in sf. I would definitely visit again when I come back to sf. I could see both ocean views and the city 360°. The view from the top of the park was amazing!! It was so windy so I couldn’t stay there that much but I wish I could just sit on a bench and chill for a longer time.
Had been to this place twice, once in last year and one recently. The last time I was here, there were 100s of sea lions offering and unimaginable view. But surprisingly the recent trip witnessed hardly couple of sea lions. I believe the sea lions come up only during summer the most. Irrespective of the sea lions, the pier offers an incredible view of the ocean, pier, golden gate, scenic mountain and great wheels - all of them offering a scenic backdrop sxreensavers. Will definitely keep visiting this mesmerizing place.

Excellent views of the city from the Sunset stretching all the way to the skyscrapers downtown, plus of course a great look at Sutro Tower. You really get a grasp of the size of Golden Gate Park relative to the rest of the city, plus a good workout going up the stairs, especially if you start at 16th Ave. I went in the early afternoon but honestly, I wish I'd seen the sunset.
A picturesque Marina with a grand view to downtown San Francisco, Golden gate, Alcatraz Island & Treasure Island. You can find Sea Lions having a good time most of the year. The Pier 39 has a lot of good etaries, souvenirs and other window shopping options. They recently introduced the fairy wheel which gives a nice birds view of the entire area.

You have a lot of local site seeing options like whales watching, Golden Gate ferry, and other small boat rides available from here.

We never heard about the sea lions in San Francisco and just heard them as we walked by. They were amazing to view while they were playing in the water and with each other. Well worth going to see if you are in the area. Amazing.

I had a delightful time at the Sea Lion viewing area at Pier 39 in San Francisco.
The sea lions were absolutely captivating to watch as they frolicked and interacted with one another.
The viewing platforms were strategically placed to provide excellent views from different angles, allowing me to take some incredible photos. I also appreciated the educational signs that provided interesting facts about sea lions and their conservation.
The only drawback was the occasional strong smell that emanated from the area, which is expected given the presence of a large number of sea lions. However, it didn't detract significantly from the overall experience.
If you're in San Francisco, don't miss out on this unique opportunity to observe these playful creatures in their natural habitat!
Crowded, but worth it! Sea lions are hilarious to watch and the dock is the perfect place!

We were also lucky enough to see the Blue Angels fly by for fleet week!
Really amazing views of the bridge. It is a quick walk up there or you can drive or take public transit if you want to. The views up there are unmatchable and I wouldn’t live anywhere else in the world. The sparkling ocean and the big red bridge are awesome. I wish they had a better name for the big red bridge though idk maybe just me
It’s is as you can see in US movies! So fun to be here excepted the unsafe area. Indeed, each parking lots in the neighborhood are commonly visited by criminal people who smash the cars windows to steal tourists stuffs. Be very careful.
I ask myself what is the police and authority doing for this? Are we in the USA or in third world? I’m not surprised why people are avoiding these places.
It is a very good spot where you can walk around and take photos of the famous and glorious Golden Gate bridge. There are seats available, you can take rest and drink coffee enjoying the view. There are also public restrooms. You can find miniatures of the bridge showing the physics "behind the scenes".

One of the best vista points to view the Golden Gate Bridge. This is the location to capture those Instagram pics of the bridge between the two tree trunks.

There is plenty of parking space. However, several signs posted warning visitors of window smashing and vehicle break-ins.

It's a good alternative spot compared to the visitor center on the opposite side, but I'd recommend both as you get different views of the bridge from both ends.
Sea lions are very funny, you could see them pampering each other here, playing with each other, throwing the other sea lions into the water, etc. Some sea lions are just relaxing and enjoying the sun all the time. Overall a lovely sight

World famous bridge for a great reason. Would’ve loved to see it during some sunshine but can’t complain!
Sea lions are majestic! They are so lazy and fun to watch. I could spend hours here and still want more time. It’s so calming and entertaining to be in this area. They sleep, move around, yell and play with each other. Must visit spot if you’re visiting San Francisco.

Wonderful viewing spot for the Golden Gate Bridge. Free parking and an interesting visitor center.
Good view to Bay bridge
I never get bored with the views from here even though I have been here 100s of times. The parking is getting progressively harder and harder here. I wish there was good public transportation to this location from main points within the city. Also this place is increasingly getting very unsafe. Please make sure you don't leave valuables in the car, specially with them visible from outside. Expert thieves can get in and out in seconds. That's amazing, in a perverse way.

One of the best views overlooking the Golden gate. This is where all the locks are on the fence for people that have either passed away or people that got engaged in married it's a lovely sentiment there are locks everywhere that date back years and years ago I recommend at least seeing it one time and bringing locks for yourself and leave one behind.
What a great spot to take a picture of the bridge.

This is a great spot to take in views of the bridge and old fortification. It's a high spot, so you can see quite far. It wasn't crowded at all, so it's easy to find free parking. There are a lot of good spots for photography.
It was good spot where you can roam around and take photos. There was seat available, you can take rest there. You can grab coffee and enjoy the view.

Very nice experience to enjoy the view of sea lions just chilling. It’s free, no need for any tickets. It’s a side of marine where sea lions resting.
Must stop for a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge and a quick photo opt.
Came here a few weeks back.
A great place to see the bridge and bay.
Even nicer to walk part of the historical bridge.

Not much to say that others haven’t but it is quite simply so fun, engaging and worthwhile going to see the sea lions. Constant joy, humour, and would recommend to all regardless of age.
One of the best places for photos of the Golden Gate Bridge, I highly recommend going in the morning and checking the weather before. Once you come more of a midday time it could potentially be crowded and be harder to get photos in your desired location since everyone is trying to do the same thing.
Does this review page need another picture of the Golden Gate bridge? Don’t think so, so I’ll spare you.
Anyway, of course its a great spot to view the bridge - super windy of course as you’re near the Pacific ocean - ha.
Bus stops nearby with some parking.
Lots of “kite surfing” near here for extra entertainment.
Tucked out of the way and uncrowded, with excellent views of the bridge and the shoreline along an easy walking path, plus interesting graffiti on the old bunkers. Worth a stop!

It was so much fun for the entire family to just watch the Sea Lions play, swimming around, sometimes fighting over spots to lay. There are a lot of them lying on the dock, and it's just enjoyable to look at them.
The Golden Gate Bridge.

Famous bridge. Well maintained. Lots of visitors. Not too crowded. Small parking. Need more things to do.

Beautiful Day.

FYI, this is the main visitor parking picture spot. There are plenty of other spots which are free. Different angle pictures. This was taken from the South side. You can also take pictures from the North side. The "Battery Spencer" is another famous spot to take pictures. The Battery Spencer is a higher elevation shot.

Highly Recommended.

If you're an animal lover, you won't want to miss the Sea Lions at this location. These adorable creatures have made the area their home, and it's an absolute delight to watch them bask in the sun, play, and interact with each other.

What's great about this location is that it provides a safe and welcoming environment for the sea lions. The area is clean, and there are barriers in place to protect both the sea lions and the visitors. Signs are posted to educate visitors about the sea lions and their behavior, which helps to ensure that everyone can enjoy watching them while also respecting their space.

The sea lions are a reminder of the beauty and diversity of the natural world, and it's heartwarming to see them thriving in their habitat. If you're in the area, I highly recommend taking some time to observe these amazing creatures. Not only is it a unique and memorable experience, but it's also a great opportunity to appreciate the importance of protecting our wildlife.

Overall, this location is a must-visit for anyone who loves animals. The sea lions are a joy to watch, and it's great to see that efforts are being made to protect them and their habitat.
Stretching 4,200 feet and towering as high as a 65-story building, this well-known bridge is the gateway to San Francisco.

The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world, and for good reason. Spanning the Golden Gate Strait, which connects the San Francisco Bay to the Pacific Ocean, the bridge is a marvel of engineering and design.

The bridge is an iconic symbol of San Francisco, and its bright orange color and sleek, Art Deco design make it instantly recognizable.

Visitors to the Golden Gate Bridge can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding area from its pedestrian walkway or from various lookout points along the bridge. The bridge is also a popular spot for cyclists and joggers, and there are several guided tours available for those who want to learn more about the history and construction of the bridge.

The Golden Gate Bridge is not only a feat of engineering, but also a symbol of human achievement and resilience. Despite facing numerous challenges during its construction, including harsh weather conditions and the Great Depression, the bridge was completed on time and within budget, and has stood as a symbol of strength and perseverance ever since.
Parking had me nervous as there were multiple parking spots with broken glass from car break in. Only a 0.2 mile walk from parking to the Golden Gate Bridge. Got some nice pics and the views were awesome!

Beautiful almost 360 views of the surrounding city. Wide panoramic view of Golden Gate Park stretching all the way to Ocean Beach with some glimpses of the Golden Gate Bridge and downtown SF. A few benches on the stairs and one at the top to take it all in. Perfect for an urban nature adventure. You can get to the park from two sets of stairs at either 14th Ave or Noriega St.
I have been to Golden Gate bridge for at least over two dozens of time with friends and family through the years. The views from the bridge and away from the bridge were always magnificent any time of the day, any time of the season! A true civic jewel for San Francisco! Cheers!
Been to San Francisco over 2 dozen times and I finally stumbled across this location. Loved the view point and angle of the bridge. Got some great pictures and caught it all during the golden hour or sunset. Please go, but lock your doors and take your valuables with you. Lots of break ins in the parking lot.

One of the San Francisco tourist bucket list items, visit the sea lions at the famous pier 39. The day I went there were only a few, no idea why, must be based on the time of year. I wasn’t disappointed though, I’d never seen them and they were cool to watch. It’s free, and you can stay and watch as long as you want.

Nice place to walk around, plenty of parking area with great view of the bridge
Went here at sunset for a beautiful view of the Golden Gate bridge. Small parking area but a larger one further down. Meter was not working, so we didn’t have to pay.😁
Beautiful spot to get some great photos of GG on the San Francisco side from various vantage points. Recommend walking along the trails as well. Reading other reviews I used rideshare to get here - it’s a popular place so you won’t wait long for a ride back either.
The globe, interesting, maybe also good for children and to know how is the planet and the oceans.
I came here by bike, not the easiest climb but the scenery is worth it. Overall a great spot: the view over the bridge is magnificent. The bridge is very close, if you are a pedestrian - just some more stairs, if you are a biker - 100 meters more under the bridge and another small hill to climb. At this spot several benches are available for resting and enjoying the view. The place is popular but not too crowded - people come and go. Definitely worth visiting.

Beautiful unprecedented views of the ocean and city below. From the golden gate park to downtown. The stairs on the west side are very unique and make for a quick trip to the 16th street mural steps. The views are phenomenal!! There is a lower ring below the top where everyone goes and it’s the best spot!!
Very easy to get to and one of the best spots to view the Golden Gate Bridge! Access to the visitors center and a coffee shop make it a bit more complete experience compared to the other isolated overlooks.

For one of the best waterfront views of the Bay Bridge walk along this well kept / clean pier. You’ll find a few people fishing, sitting in the bucket seats reading or people watching, and a few tourists. It’s not as popular as the other piers around the Ferry Building, but offers good views of the waterfront and downtown.

Pier 14 quickly became one of my favourite spots in San Francisco!

If you walk all the way to the pier in the end you will find a platform with turning chairs which allows a nice 360 degrees view on the Bay Bridge and the city.

Absolutely loved sitting here, as here is so much silence and not so many people.
When visiting the San Francisco Bay area, its a necessity to visit the Golden Gate bridge tourist hotspot at least once during your stay. The bridge is a brilliant and visually appealing work of engineering wonder. Although I must admit that it looks much larger in photos than in actual life. Was a good opportunity to take some nice photos and walk around. But that's about it. We left after about 30-45 minutes. That's all the time you need really.

This is an amazing view of Golden Gate Bridge at water level. We walked the pier and saw a seal swimming, people fishing and bikers all over the area. Cafe with touristy memorabilia, gelato and sweet treats is available.
The public restrooms were fairly clean and stocked.
There is paid parking and a few street parking spots. There is a fair sized beach area good for picnic and playing in the sand.
