Fantastic! I dropped in late on a Friday with a slipping chain on my commuter everything bike and you had me back on the road in a flash with a repaired chain at a very reasonable cost. And you gave me some great advice for keeping me running all weather all seasons. AND you made me feel good about my 14 year old bike which I was starting to sour on. I really appreciate it.
I've been doing the trade up program for both my boys the past 4 years and everyone that works here has been great to deal with, espcially the GM, Kevin. He is awesome. I look forward to getting my next bike here...
This place is excellent, definitely the finest bike shop in the greater Clarendon area. Love the selection of bikes and accessories, but the repair team really sets this place apart. Jon is the best kind of mechanic - smart, kind and willing to explain his repairs in detail. Very lucky to have this place in Arlington.
Even though the Trek store closest to my home isn’t this one, I always choose the Clarendon location because it's simply the best.

The staff are incredibly friendly, especially Kyle and Kevin. Kyle is patient and attentive, helping me find the perfect bike based on my needs. When neither the store nor the website had stock, he made an extra effort to source the bike from another location. Once it arrived, he went beyond by teaching me how to ride properly and adjust the seat to fit my height—something I haven't experienced elsewhere. Kevin, the technician, is also very impressive. Every time my bike has issues, he inspects it thoroughly, and after repairs, he checks for any other potential problems, treating it like his own baby. His advice on maintenance is always spot-on.

This store is my go-to in the DMV area. The only downside is the steep hill you have to climb from Rosslyn, which really tests your bike’s uphill power, but Trek bikes handle it effortlessly.
Everybody that works there is very friendly and helpful, and really goes out of their way to help you and answer your questions, even if they are really obvious. Even compared to other Trek stores, the people that work here really just seem like they want to help out.

This is an awesome bike shop the train young people how to maintain bicycles. They sell restored bikes and used bike parts at extremely reasonable prices

The guy taking the phone refused to let me speak to the manager after asking several times. I am not usually someone to complain but he really didn’t seem to care that I needed to speak to the manager. (They’re a great store and they seem like nice people).
My 2 dearest cycling friends recommended I come in an speak with the owner and see what the road bike inventory looked like. I finally did in early June 2024. I was not disappointed. I was shown several Domane models and decided on a Project One Domane SLR model. Kevin spent several hours assuring an EXACT fit based on the geometry measurements from my existing Project One 2012 Madone. He carefully and meticulously matched the fit. A test ride confirmed the fit. Then he assisted me in selecting ONLY the exact Garmin computer and other components that met my needs with NO pressure. He did not let me take the bike home until all the requests on my list were checked off and the components explained. He also was kind enough to help write up a precise "ad" to help me post to sell my Madone- that goes above and beyond! And it immensely appreciated. This is the definition of customer service. This is why I drove from Frederick to Arlington!

Phoenix Bike's youth program, the Earn-a-Bike program, provides an exceptional educational experience. My son participated in the program, learning bike mechanic skills that he will remember forever. In this program at Phoenix, he created a bike from used parts and with the help of the Phoenix Bike's most amazing bike mechanic mentors. Once he completed the bike, Phoenix gives it to a community member in need and then they allow him to build a bike for himself. Phoenix and its staff of mechanic mentors (both paid and the volunteers) who helped him gain these skills are simply wonderful. I encourage anyone reading this to truly consider participating/volunteering for Phoenix Bikes. And if you can, I encourage you to donate as well. Thank you Phoenix Bikes.

Bicycling is more than just a sport; it is also a means of social justice. Providing access to a bicycle can have significant positive economic and health impacts for all.

The youth who refurbish the Give-a-Bikes learn about area non-profits/social service agencies who have clients who could benefit from receiving a bike and get to observe their hard work make a direct and positive impact on the lives of members of their community.

If you are a current Give-a-Bike partner, please submit requests for bike donations using this request form. If you aren’t a current partner and would like to explore a possible partnership.

Phoenix Bikes is an Arlington nonprofit that uniquely combines youth educational programs with a full-service professional bike shop and retail store.

Our mission is to harness the power of bikes to help youth build passion, purpose and a place in the community.

Our friendly, full-service bike shop has the most affordable selection of both high-quality refurbished bikes and bike parts in the DC metro area.

From basic bike tune-ups to complete custom builds, we repair and refurbish bikes and provide mechanical services.

Youth ages 12-17 get free, hands-on instruction in building and repairing used bikes. This gives them exposure to retail work in our full-service bike shop and empowers them with skills and confidence to take into their futures – all while making bikes more accessible to our community.

When a local student comes through our shop doors, they learn more than just bike mechanics. They learn life skills and leadership lessons to help them grow into successful young adults. Your gift helps us to offer all of our programs 100% free, so all students – regardless of income level – can take part.
I went in a little over a year ago to buy a bike. Ordered it and everything, but changed my mind due to unexpected expenses. A year later, they were still happy to see me and gave me the same service they had a year before. They're helpful, knowledgeable, eager to assist and provide excellent customer service. My favorite Trek store by far, and I was impressed with other stores before them

The greatest location for youth programming ever. Their instructors are very good. The personnel is courteous and experienced. Volunteers are also present and will assist the students. Get your bike here if you wish to ride one. The front desk staff is really pleasant.

I love Phoenix's mission so I'm sad to have to write such a bad review. I bought a used Trek there after my beloved bike got stolen, and was excited to have found exactly what I was looking for. BUT pretty soon, a bunch of glitches became apparent, but I was outside the one-month warranty window. They did not even have a paid appointment available for several weeks, so I took it to Conte's. I'm glad I did because the bike actually needs *a lot* of work done -- the mechanic showed me how a derailleur gear had been INSTALLED BACKWARDS, as just one example. This is not at all what I expect when buying a refurbished bike from a reputable shop. I would have been better off buying a new Trek than patronizing Phoenix, but I'm the sort of person who tries to buy used and, anyway, what's done is done. Profoundly disappointing -- I miss Papillon already!

I came in to have a tire problem looked at (bead wouldn't seat properly). The guy at the counter was able to fix the issue in less than 5 minutes and didn't charge me!
Great service from kyle Roman. He helped me a lot with choosing the right bike for me. He was so friendly and offered genuine advice and took the time to actually understand what I needed, and answered all of my questions.
I arrived to the US about a year ago, and this is the first time I experience such wonderful customer service and professionalism.
I will definitely be taking my new FX 3 back home with me when I go back.

I am a brand new adult learner to biking and picked up my first bike from here! Jonathan was amazing and taught me more about bikes and how they worked! He really went the extra mile in helping me pick out the right bike. I could not have asked for a better experience. I would recommend this shop to anyone and will be returning for more purchases! Also, their impact on kids in the community is the cherry on top. Kids are able to learn how to maintain and fix bikes here and at the end of the course, they get to make their own bike to take home! Wow! Thank you, Phoenix Bikes!
Absolutely amazing service and excellent for the community! It feels like family here every time we walk in, and the staff is excellent about communicating clearly price and options. This is a company you can absolutely trust, and your bike will feel brand new after getting service!

Bought a used bike here and I have been loving it so far. They even let me test ride all the bikes around the block before choosing. Really friendly employees who know what they're doing!

Highly recommend.

The only thing is i didn't know where to park (so i used the commercial lot across the street and hoped not to get towed).
