Well stocked proper bike shop with lovely staff/owners
As an ex trek store manager i was shocked when i walked in store and wasnt welcomed or asked what the reason for me visiting the store was by the yound lady at the front counter. It took 5 mins of myself waiting when a new employee who was there for a meeting with the store manager came up to me and asked if i was ok. Thanks mate. I got my bb cups knocked out by the mechanic in store who was great as the store didnt have a door buzzer. He came out and saw me waiting he welcomed me to the store and the proceeded to serve me. But the store was well faced and stocked. Cheers guys
Bashed and bent my crank as I was cycling through Withington, chain wouldn't stay on so was pretty stuck. Popped into Withington Cycles where the lovely guys bent the metal back as straight as was possible, which was just enough to get me back the few miles home. It will need a proper fix but they saved my homeward journey and didn't even charge. Very kind, excellent service!
I have recently bought a Trek Sport 4. Liam could not have been more helpful when discussing options and recommending the best bike for me. He has spent time to ensure that the bike suits my needs and has adapted it to suit my riding style. He has been very patient and considerate. I can not recommend Trek Manchester more highly .

Excellent service, I bought my Trek Fuel Ex 8 from the store around 3.5 years ago now and have only ever had work carried out on my bike by the in store mechanics.
I've never had a problem with any of their work and find them very honest. Recently I had it serviced ready for a big trip away, and they took a nice discount off the service cost as they said the bike was already in a good condition.
Would definitely recommend.

I went to the shop for minor stuff. Tightening screws and things like that and guy was very helpful and nice!

Oh dear. Took my bike in on Tuesday, said they'd look at it that day. Phoned on Thursday and said they were waiting for a part that they expected that afternoon and they would sort it either that afternoon or on Friday morning. No sign by the end of Friday. No phone call. Went and took it home. Not fixed. Googled the part and 5 places immediately came up that would deliver the part the next day. They were very nice but my front derailleur still doesn't work

Also, you will find rather few businesses in Manchester with such a character and personality. Going for a coffee and sitting in one of the sofas whilst enjoying the workshop’s atmosphere is precious.

Yesterday morning my cycle broke out.. I was getting late for my shift .. I been to this shop . The guy fix my issue real quick didn't even ask for money ,he said it's free... a big thanks buddy..

Excellent service, great shop to take your bike for repairs or maintenance. superb knowledge of all things bike and well worth the travel from the other side of town.... Thankfully no more Halfords for me now just POP-UP BIKES......... Oh they do a cracking brew aswel as cakes.

Bicycle doctor gave me by far the best service I have ever received. Incredible staff, incredible service and nothing but helpful advice throughout the whole process of getting my Surly bike frame. Would absolutely recommend anyone looking to get a custom bike build to go to these guys, the will give you your dream bike. Would give them 10 stars if I could!!
Very honourable machinist. They gave me the choices about first and second hand parts when they went to fix the brake. They told me about the details of the problem and how to solve it. highly transparency.Thay spent about 40 mins to fix it. Then it looks like the new one and good in functions

I recently bought a used bike and took it to Popup to be serviced. They were quick to see me and carry out the service despite me dropping in late the day. The technicians also replaced my bar tape with some I had bought online, which was done to a very high standard. Everyone was very friendly and professional, I will be returning to Popup bikes in the future for all my maintenance needs.
Helped me for free with pedal that'd come off and gave great advice. Beautiful setting, friendly staff, and played good tunes! Shall be coming back.
Absolutely ridiculous policy regarding e-bikes. Wanted a simple puncture repair for a flat that occurred on my way to work. I’m an NHS worker and waited for 40 minutes in the pouring rain for them to open. Staff member was extremely rude to me, told me to go elsewhere and that nobody would touch my bike despite never having an issue previously with any other bike shop I’ve visited. Gave a vague excuse about how it was “more complicated than a regular bike” (it’s not) and how it was a fire hazard (ridiculous assumption based on illegally modified, illegal overseas e-bikes with unsafe charging practices. Mine is a completely British made and reputable brand). I bought a couple of tools off him in order to fix it myself and he still dismissively went “good luck” and closed the door in my face.
To add insult to injury, they were advertising an electric Brompton in the window. I suppose they’re fine to get e-bike related custom when it’s from people who can afford the extortionate price of those. Disgusting.

My only place to come to check and fix my bike, they are very friendly and helpful, always explain what to expect and the prices before agreeing on. I usually leave the bike for one day no problem.

The staff here are really friendly and helpful, and were able to take my bike on short notice and complete a wheel change and truing by the next day. They showed me the damage before doing repairs so I understood exactly what was wrong which I appreciated. Very handy location in Withington village. Would highly recommend, it's a nice smaller local business too.
Really helpful, came to just pickup mudguards for bike, and was given advice (and a few p-screws) to attach it. While I was there I realised I wanted to replace my pedals as well, which was easy and simple. Can't recommend them enough, great shop with friendly staff. I'll be coming back for bike-related needs :)))
I went into Bicycle Doctor (BD) and asked Mo ( one of the co-op team ) to simply loosen the lock-ring on my cassette as I wanted to remove and clean it. I had the correct lock-ring tool with me for my cassette and a wrench, my chain whip was just not suitable as it kept slipping when I tried it myself. He said fine but that he would use the shop's tools and it would cost me £5. I thought he was joking about the charge, but he was not. It would literally have taken him a minute to do.
Now in the last few years my late brother bought two bikes from BD.
He was a regular customer for bike parts and bike services up until his passing, as am I for bits and pieces I needed for my bike.
I couldn't believe after all the custom BD have had from my late brother and myself that he was being so mean and stingy.
I told him he was well out of order and left.

I went to the Charity Bike Shop in Chorlton. The guys there were great. One young guy stopped working to help me. He removed the cassette lock-ring, chatted amiably for about 10 minutes giving me advice and ideas - ( I have a noisy cassette ) and at the end when I asked him how much I owed him, he said no worries - NOTHING.
So much for Bicycle Doctor's workers co-operative.
It seems money is their sole motivation.
In the past I've bought items from them too which were twice the price I could have found elsewhere. I could have bought a lot cheaper but didn't.
So that's what you get for trying to support your local bike shop..

Really recommend coming here, especially for students. My bike needed a few minor repairs which were done the same day for a very reasonable price. Helpful & friendly

The garage is run by two chilled out blokes who seem like they're happy to cater for all issues. I turned up and one of them said I could either leave it with them, or do the tube swap myself with their gear. I needed the bike asap, so I bought a tube (£5, great price!), and went to work with their gear. He was happy to give me tips here and there, and I was done very quickly. Their pressure guage pumps were also quite handy.
Will be my go-to garage now if I ever need something done on the bike. Great reggae tunes too!

Sent my bike for assembly and the staff were very friendly. Alles (I think that was his name), in particular was very patient and explaining how the different parts work. Also willing to check the saddle height alignment and whether the gears and drive train were working fine. Overall a great experience.
One of the very best bike shops in the country, especially for commuting and touring bikes. The owners, Rich and Shona, are extremely experienced and knowledgeable in their field. The advice/support/service they give is consistently excellent. Highly recommended.

Excellent, a brilliant find. I was in need of a quick repair. It was the first time I’ve been to this place and the service here was fantastic - as was the price. Would thoroughly recommend. I will be returning, for sure!!
Really lovely bike shop. I know nothing about bikes so always get a bit intimidated going in to bike shops but they’re so nice and helpful here. The prices are very affordable and the service is fast and excellent. Shoutout to Hugo (or maybe Hubert, sorry my memories terrible) for sorting out my gears, bike handles and being super friendly whilst doing it
These guys did a fantastic job and very good advice given at a very affordable price. I'm well pleased with the results. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them. They have some great bikes for sale. Would definitely purchase one in near future.
Update to this - they finally responded and apparently they say in case of a flat don't change the inner tube (which they'd charge you £19 for, if you wanted one), because if you caused any "damage" to the rim or frame you'd have to pay for its repair. So basically, if you're on a trip and you get a flat you're stranded and you'd need to arrange your own lift back (do RAC offer breakdown offer e-bike coverage??)... Not sure what anyone else thinks, but that does limit the usage for me and the policy requires a re-think.

Poor customer service. I wanted to hire an electric bike as I need one for a relatively long ride I have planned, which is quite hilly. I won't be doing so now, regrettably. Poor and disrespectful customer service miffs me off, and so whilst I could go into the store and ask tomorrow, I don't think I'll bother now.
I was going to sign up, but I just wanted to know from their customer support if they supply spare inner tubes (worried about getting stranded on a long ride), and whether bike locks would be provided. I tried calling them, but the phone line was awful, and kept cutting out / going silent intermittently. The problem wasn't at my end either I don't think, because I tried calling from two different devices.
I subsequently sent a message to their WhatsApp asking to speak to someone. They sent me a message back with a YouTube video link and palmed me off to the website. I watched the video and checked the website but couldn't find anything to answer my questions. When I sent a message querying these specific points (as noted above) I was ignored.
The performance here is a real shame because they have strong branding, a nice website, and reasonable prices. The bikes look great as well.
It looks at the moment that (in Manchester at least) they have very little competition in this market, which is perhaps why they're not too bothered about responding to prospective customers. They're probably more focused on rounds of funding and increasing volume, which usually leads to worse customer service, because the systems just aren't in place for scale. Hopefully a new competitor emerges soon that realises this market is largely unsaturated to put these guys under a bit of pressure.

Just popped in to buy some chain and drive train degreaser, the owner who I spoke to was extremely helpful to answer all my queries about my bike, really honest guy. The fact that he is open on a Sunday for a bit is just brilliant, not many places do…

Service was excellent and efficient. The Zoomo representative is really friendly and very knowledgable. She made sure I knew all the important information.
Absolutely made up with the staff (Liam and a girl I forgot her name) and serviced i received in store. Listened to me with previous problems with other bike shops only going off side chart and how they never fit me. Ended up purchasing a new bike and it fits perfectly. Would highly recommend the store and hopefully I’ll be back in the future for another bike.
As I faced an issue with zoomo bikes, the team has reached me and helped me a lot in getting my refund back which was a great support.And the manager at the store has provided a great service today .. overall the service was great and finally kept me happy, hope I’ll use their service back again . What a fantastic shop staffed by fantastic people! They are totally customer focussed and offered advice aimed towards my needs NOT at their sales figures. Honest, sincere, helpful and knowledgable - what else could anybody ask for? The Bicycle Doctor points system is an added extra too - I was able to use my points towards the extras I decided to buy for my bike a week or so later. To use the words from "Britain's Got Talent", it's a big YES from me!

If possible, I would give this bike shop 0 star. My bike broke down halfway, and although I am a beginner, I knew my chain was stuck. I had to find a nearby bike shop because of the problem on the way. I did not make an appointment, of course, because it was an accident. At the door, I couldn't open my newly purchased bike lock. Fortunately, the boss appeared, and I asked if he could help me open the bike lock. The boss didn't even look at me and said, "No, I can't. Besides, this isn't the lock my company bought."

My bike rides better than when I first got it. What a testament to this shop because I brought the un-cared-for bike and it was put back into pristine condition. It rides so smoothly now. I will definitely take more care of it and bring for routine maintenance.

Amazing. Everywhere else was booked for 2 weeks and I needed a last minute tire repair so I could get to work in the morning. Other bike repair shops told me “good luck getting it done in time”. This place saw me immediately, fixed my tire in 10 minutes for only £12. 5/5 :)

Called to this shop on Friday 19th February 2021, I have never been here before. I was welcomed by the owner as I entered, I wanted to purchase a cycle helmet, I was asked if I had anything in mind or did I need advice, I needed advice, I found one that suited my needs was given useful advise, The good thing was the owner didn't try to sell me the most expensive helmet in the shop. I walked out with a great value for money helmet and I'm very pleased, Will definitely be back as my bike needs a slight alteration.
Really helpful lady listened to what I wanted then we both agreed on the right bike for me. I took it for a quick spin and now I am happily cycling on my new Bobbin. They fitted the extras I wanted and where happy to help with other questions I had. Great communication and I had my new bike within a couple of days. Will definitely return for service and advice.
