Love the atmosphere and backyard here. Tons of events are happening all the time and the beer selection is on point.

They're more a beer bar and have some wine to match but no cocktails! Well there's some beertails but not the full cabinet you may be expecting.

The selection of craft beer is quite impressive.

This is a great local bar. The bartender (I believe his name was Jason) made great drinks and provided outstanding service. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and would visit here again.

I’ve been able to witness h/g from its inception and it has only continue to grow and prosper!! With every return it somehow becomes even homier & just is a great vibe.!! Very queer friendly with lots of fun programming. The food menu as well as beer menu (of course) is everything changing - It’s refreshing!

The staff is unmatched and no matter who you are, they always make you feel welcome and like a local. Would recommend! ✨✨

I came here alone on Friday night to enjoy the weather in the backyard. I was intimidated at first to go alone but I brought my knitting and it ended up being a topic of conversation. They have a good variety of local beers and ciders, nice backyard, friendly people and staff.
I ordered the crab nachos. The crab was delicious and that was about it. They used Tostitos chips! And probably the Tostitos cheese sauce too. So it tasted super cheap. I do not recommend it!

My partner got the oxtail Mac and cheese. The oxtail was okay but the Mac and cheese was bland! Like a generic cheese sauce eeh.

The Bronzino was good. Tender, flavorful. The mashed potatoes were nothing special.

Overall we ordered 3 things and the bill was $96 . Definitely was not worth it, I feel played. It was like being served McDonalds with a upscale ambiance and exorbitant price.

McDonalds would have been better. I’m sad I want my money back.

Oh and the ambiance was dark. And there was someone laying down on the couch, like fully laying and sleeping… yeah we won’t be back. But the waiters were attentive and nice.

Always had some decent food, be it sushi or some of the hot dishes. Service is usually very good. The happy hour prices are decent along with the sushi offerings (not sure if they still do it as I've not been in the daytime in a while). The only negative is it can get a bit loud in there due to high ceilings, and the one time a DJ kicked in towards the end of a meal which was not expected and not all that comfortable for a dining experience with conversation.
Went for a quick brunch with some friends. Good food, nice DJ playing something for everyone and service was great!

Bouncer waives us off with a smirk because we need “reservations”? It seems like there were people dancing by the bars freely with absolutely no “reservations”. We just wanted to have a fun night with good music but ig you cant even get into an ASTORIA BAR without “reservations”. What a chubby fat bouncer 😂.

Everything was amazing but Natalie really made the experience AWESOME!!! She was very attentive, social and professional. It’s been the best experience i had here and i definitely look forward to coming back. The wait time for her was short, the quality of drinks were on point and I didn’t being here by myself. I spent 5 hours here by myself but never felt alone. I couldn’t ask for anything better. She’s definitely one in a million and second to none when it comes to customer service, comfort and transparency.
Nice neighborhood bar, easy to just relax with a drink there

Stopped in for dinner/drinks after work. Not too busy on a Wednesday on night. The food was decent. Didn’t dislike anything but nothing really stood out. They have a really good selection of sushi and skewers. The staff were very friendly and attentive which I appreciated very much.

Where do I even start with Dive Bar LIC? It's a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Long Island City, offering an authentic dive bar experience with a touch of class. From the moment my friends and I walked in, Ashley, our waitress, made us feel right at home. Her friendly demeanor and attentive service elevated our night to unforgettable heights. The ambiance is cozy, the drinks are top-notch, and Ashley's hospitality truly sets Dive Bar LIC apart. It's the kind of place you'll want to keep coming back to, again and again.

Great place to go and just chill. For 2 people expect to pay around $100 to $150 but that includes about 2-3 drinks each, 1 plate of food each and 1 hookah. They have a live dj during the nights. Drinks are well made and food is pretty good! For the food I usually get either the wings, the tacos or the mini chimis. E
Really nice place! Food was good, soup dumplings tasted ok, but seemed freezer burned. Jook was good and presentation in the still boiling pot was awesome.

Free desserts were a nice touch at the end too. Would definitely go again.

Loud, hot and pricey.
Came with a small group, most of the other drinks were fine, "crush on me" was flavorless. The waiter took a while to come back to our table and I had to ask for the drink to be returned (he took it back without asking too many questions which I appreciate) and then again we had to ask for it to be taken off the bill. The bartender asked if I wanted a new one, but at that point the rest of the group had already finished all of their drinks and we just wanted to get out.
Decent effort, but not worth 18-20$ per drink, especially compared to what other places in the area have to offer.
Came in for a quick lunch on Saturday. Some dishes are pretty and some are okay. The congee is very good and well-priced.
Tonight was me and my husband's first time going to the Social Corner. The ambience was so beautiful, welcoming and warm. We were greeted and seated by the hostess, who was very pleasant. Our server Latoya came over and she was so polite, courteous and friendly and she also recommended the best drinks. We ordered the sweet chili wings, steamed mussels and crab nachos. Not gonna lie, those 3 appetizers were the best we had in a long time. The night was going great, literally perfect until we ordered hookah from a short, light skinned guy with beard, I believe his name is Dodo or something of the sort. He had the NASTIEST attitude! Very unpleasant I must say. He gave us the hookah which was no good, he had to take it back and when he brought it back we got only a few smoke off it, we didn't even have it for 10 minutes before the charcoal went out. So my husband went to him to tell him that he thinks the hookah wasn't good and all he said to my husband "done it done"....I mean his attitude was nasty since he gave us the hookah! With a nasty tone he said "$45 cash for the hookah" so my husband asked him what flavor it was just to make sure we got the blueberry that we ordered, and all he kept saying was "$45 cash"....from there I picked up on his dirty energy! I'm not going to lie, had it not been for the hostess, the lady who brought out our food and our server Latoya, we wouldn't even think of putting our feet back there! These are people with dirty attitude that drives customers away from people's business establishments! Overall, the food, music, drinks, ambience was great, next to perfect! We will be back because we won't let one bad apple spoil the fun! We just won't be ordering hookah anymore because of that boy with his dirty attitude and poor customer service!!!!

Had some very tasty japanese food at Sapps in LIC. I was a fan of the apps we ordered: tako wasabi, rock shrimp, miso cod, skewers. The rock shrimp especially was a standout.

Alsoo you can never go wrong with the sushi + sashimi platter, just look at those thick cuts of fish 🤩

Easily one of the best bars in LIC. Cozy speakeasy vibe, great drinks, good music, and the bartender PJ’s the man. Highly recommend.
The steak is delicious. I want to thank the chef for providing me with a great meal.
This place is a lovely, chill spot. Hookah is smoked here. The service was good, and the drinks were good and not watered down. I will be coming back there soon.

I hosted some friends for my 30th birthday here and it was the perfect event, no small part because of this space. Everyone who came mentioned how much they loved the spot and the vibe. The drinks were great and I was able to bring in food (we ended up ordering some of the food they offer as well to snack on - delicious). What I will rave about most is the staff. Audrey took our orders all night and was the kindest, most helpful and attentive person. Also shout out to Amanda and JR for being so great as well in answering all my questions. I think I found my new favorite spot!!

Very cool bar with live music, great drinks. During busy hours the staff is always busy and your order/request may take longer, but they’re always friendly!
Service was poor, inside was dark with lights dimmed. It didn't look like there was people inside. Me and my friend were the only 2 people in the restaurant but the noise from the waitress and her 3 friends at the bar makes it look like a rowdy market place. We ended up ordering a drink and left.
Dutch Kills is a Long Island City classic. The cocktails have always been creative and fairly priced (I had the Basquiat and the Chuparosa). I like sitting at the bar and admiring the memorabilia on the walls and ceiling. Service was a bit slow, and the bar was not even full when I was there. Nonetheless, the drinks are awesome, will definitely come again.

This review is based off of my first visit. I just discovered this establishment this weekend. First impression: sophisticated goth. My friend recommended this place for the strong, unique cocktails. When we arrived, Sisters of Mercy was playing and I was instantly drawn to the dark inviting atmosphere. The host was welcoming yet very thorough in checking our IDs. My two friends and I were seated in a cozy booth and each was given some refreshing lemon water with cucumber. We were given the option to be seated in a booth or hang out at the bar. On a Saturday night, there were A LOT of people at the bar so I'm glad we stayed in the booth. We also had the benefit of having someone check in on us throughout the night to keep the drinks flowing. He was pretty chill and attentive without rushing or pressuring us to order right away. Made sure we gave him a great tip for his awesome service. We were there for about 4 hours and ordered about 3 fancy drinks each. Highly recommend this place for a low key date night or intimate hang out with a small group.

Drinks recommended: chilled coffee (made with rum, absinthe & cold brew)
Awful Services, Lie about their food and ridiculous bad attitude to their customers. Just don’t go, believe me there are better places to save your time and money. I am so offended not 1 or 2 but more than 3 times, if any parts is better, I won’t leave this comments. If you interest what happened, please read.

I am looking forward to this dinner for a week, gathering my friends and expecting a good night, but they give me a terrible memory.

I called and made a reservation, when I arrived, they showed my name on their reservation book but tell me “we don’t have table now”. Seriously? Do you need google what’s the meaning of “RESERVATION”? We wait for about 20 minutes and they finally got our “reserved table”. And that’s only the start.

When they lead our party to a table that missing one chair, I told them I need another chair, a waiter with some annoyed face saying “I know, just wait”. Am I begging you to give me some chair? Can you just pretend to care your customer?

Then we order ONE fish to made into two different dishes. There was no problem or notice when we order, but they only give us half dish(sliced in pieces with half head and a small tail). We thought that’s reasonable because we have another half is coming. But when we ask about another half, the annoyed-face-waiter just reply us with the same impatient voice, “oh we don’t have two dish”, and suddenly take that half fish away. If there weren’t that dish, why you wrote that on the menu? Why no one tell us when we order?

Then the most drama part comes. When we check the receipt, they write the fish with quantity “2” we try to explain, we didn’t get 2 dish of fish. They said, oh that was a “whole” fish. and the 2 is for 2 pounds weight. I am not the first time eating or cooking fish, I know what a 2 pounds fish supposed to be. They clearly trying to fool us. Check the right part of the pic, only half head. If it was a whole fish, what’s the point of removing half head?

When I show the half fish head in my dish, They just repeat that was a whole fish. So I asked this fish is just exactly 2 pounds? 2.0? Not round up? They said yes, we will write 3.5 if it’s a 3.5 pound, write 3.8 if 3.8 When we ask a any recipes with .8 they just run away and change another people here(the waiter was so smoothly move the evidence away, while other plates were still on the table).

They are the one trying to lie to their customer and don’t even want admit it. Until now, I can still be comfort if they admit their mistake and apologize. But they keep change people to explain this is a “whole 2 pounds fish” and 2 is the weight.

The whole time no one show good attitude of solving the problem, just trying to argue that we were wrong. And finally a waiter with ridiculously attitude saying, “so what do you want? Some $30 discount? Is that fine?”. So I am the one being wrong here? The original price is over $350 and you offer me something like I am begging?

I just stop arguing and I don’t see a way they are solving this problem, it’s just wasting my time. So, save your time and there are way much better places to eat.

Such a cool spot - really love the dark green lighting. Our bartender was very friendly and the drinks were so creative! A great place for a date but maybe not the best spot for larger groups. The space is small but very tasteful in the way they made it more intimate.

Big bowl of tonkatsu ramen, lots of noodles, not too much broth. The pork was charred a bit too much, burnt taste when you first put it in your mouth. Side salad is a large quantity. Double-check the tip calculation as it’s after tax.

Craving a night of delightful cocktails, I sought out a charming speakeasy bar in NYC and discovered Dutch Kill Bar in Jackson Eve, Queens. My visit on a weekday evening proved to be a great choice, as it wasn't overly crowded. The cocktails, while not exceptional, were just right for a pleasant, tipsy experience. Opting for front seats with the bar in view was perfect for engaging conversations. Overall, Dutch Kill Bar lived up to my expectations for a cozy and enjoyable evening.

Incredible drinks, great staff, and well hidden in this little corner of NYC. This gem of a bar is a must for anyone who wants to feel like a local and enjoy the spirit of NY!
Stepping into Congee Village is akin to being whisked away to a traditional Chinese eatery right in the heart of China. The decor and menu combine to create an authentically charming and delightful Chinese atmosphere, a refreshing departure from the usual Americanized interpretations we so often get in other places herein the US. The ambiance is strikingly genuine, offering an experience that feels both unique and authentically Chinese. The wait staff are not only exceptionally friendly and attentive but also insightful, offering helpful suggestions and recommendations that enrich the dining experience. The menu is a celebration of traditional Chinese cuisine, featuring a range of classic dishes, each prepared with care and culinary expertise. Here, the focus is on traditional, time-honored flavors, with dishes that are not overly ambitious or modern, but rather, comforting and satisfying. It's a dining experience that feels genuinely pleasant and fulfilling, resonating with the essence of traditional Chinese culinary art.
I randomly popped in here after work & it was definitely fun. Great atmosphere & solid cocktails. The space is limited so this spot is better for small groups or a date.
Ever since I saw the video with Jeff from Epicurious on YouTube, I had to come here and it didn’t disappoint. I came back here on a date (not successful), but I do highly recommend it for a date. The ambience is relaxed and intimate but also very personal and I can say the same about the drink. I had the Old Fashioned and it was perfect. I can’t wait to go back to Dutch Kills.

Loved the vibe and a cocktail I had, with a caveat that I only stayed for short amount of time. Tentative 5 star mainly to remind myself that I’d like to revisit this bar. One concern though is that this whole place seemed to have a layout of very thin and long space, which I think that makes it much more easily crowded and packed.

Ordered for home delivery and waited 2.5hrs. The sancho was horrible made with chicken wings, feet, and carrots. There were no corn on the cob, green bananas, or carne de res. Porkchops tasted like ham and beans were not fresh. Only the whit rice was fresh because they just made a pot. Never again will I order from this place.

Great experience at Sapps for an early dinner, appetizers were very good, entries large and filling, and the staff was great. All three of our soups had unique flavors that matched each of our personalities. Noodles were cooked perfectly, broths were rich with flavor, and the veggies were fresh. It's nice to find one shop that can serve uniquely different dishes and each be excellent. Well done Sapps, well done...

We’ve been coming here for years. The menu is standard, the beer can be really refreshing, and it’s the right place to go if you want to meet locals. It’s a friendly spot, and the outside seating is lovely!
It's not a bad choice if you just like to have some Asian food not from a typical, American styled Chinese food place commonly found all over the US. Plus, you don't need to reserve, generally, just because the New York Times wrote about the place (and so, many will actually flood into and mar the whole usual good experience just because so many are already showing up).

We decided to have Asian food on a Friday evening even if our original place was full and won't accept reservations anymore. We figured out we could find parking, which we did and went about looking for another place to eat and we found this. It's big enough from what we saw outside and I saw people were already having their dinner ahead of us.

Of course, we were rather the odd couple. I am Asian from the Philippines and with darker skin than those Asians inside the restaurant then, plus my husband who is Black American. It's not really friendly to disabled folks but we managed without demanding for help to get to our table. You to use the stairs to get into the dining area. I think their banquet area is off limits that Friday night.

Food was good, overall. You can peruse their thick menu book and you can find what suits your taste. Honestly, I have had better tasting, more carefully prepared versions of what we got here from other Asian restaurants. But suffice it to say we enjoyed ourselves.

Our server asked that we give cash tip instead of etching an amount using our credit card. And we obliged. We're pretty aware the tip is really part of the salary of the server and so, we were happy to do our part. Not taking offense with that.

Flying out of terminal B gate 14. We ate at Fish and Hunt because there were no seats at MI Casa. After a mediocre lunch with average service we stopped at MI Casa and immediately regretted the decision not to wait on a seat. Not only was the food cheaper but the burritos and chips looked great and the people eating said they were very good. Fiorange is a great bartender, friendly, smiling and efficient.

This spot has quickly become one of my favorite bars in Astoria. If you’re into local craft beers, this is a must! I love that they support local crafters and always have a variety of choices across multiple types of beer. The staff is very knowledgeable and always happy to help you find your next selection. The atmosphere is equally great with a laid back vibe and the perfect back garden. Love introducing locals and visiting friends to this hidden gem.

Genuine cantonese food restaurant. Great to have it still open after the pandemic. We have been here for several times and we are satisfied with most of the food except for bamboo rice. The bamboo must has been used over and over again, so it doesn't have the expected fresh scent of bamboo.
Service is great. There are a lot of waiters and waitresses around so you can always easily find someone for help.
Kind of noisy in the dining hall (there's Karaoke somewhere) so try to avoid the seats farther to the entrance.
Pay attention to the tips as the one shown in the bill is calculated before tax but in the receipt for you to sign is after tax. I really don't like this trick!

This is a cool trendy bar in LIC, with a speakeasy style vibe. It’s quite small so it will get filled up quickly.

The entrance is found within the graffiti - in case you get stuck looking for it.

The drinks are well made, the lavender one was delicious, very lavender forward, but it works. The “Sorry Miss Jackson” drink is the flaming one and is worth the show.

There’s only one washroom, so you’ll have to be prepared for that.

They play some cool late 90s to early 2000s hip hop, which I definitely appreciate. Will definitely come back to try some of the other drinks on the list.
It's a really chill place. The atmosphere is really inviting and the people are friendly. The food is really good!! I'm always going to brunch there so I can have the crab nachos! 👌👌👌 Love them and the shrimp and grits! Chicken wings are pretty good too!

Seriously one of the best bars/restaurants I’ve ever been to. Foods are delicious and drinks are so yummy. I ordered many appetizers since they taste so well with alcohol. Tasty, juicy meat skewers. Love their fresh taco wasabi. Love the tuna avocado on chips but forgot to take photo. My group had such a good time here.
Great service! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Food - Good
Drinks - Good
Service - Good
Entertainment - 5 stars.
I had a date night here with my Mr and it was karaoke night. It had a nice lounge feel even though we were in a restaurant. The music was great, it was a mixture of everything. The DJ can actually sing which was a great touch to starting off karaoke.

The food never disappoints. This is a relaxing spot to grab a drink in the middle of the week after work.

Review Update: STILL amazing AND doggos are welcome! 🤩

This place is an Astoria GEM!! If you love a cool, laid back bar vibe with a fantastic selection of local brews and mouthwatering sandwiches, Heart of Gold is here for YOU! (and me, frankly 😁)

I came here recently on a Monday evening to take advantage of their movie night in their backyard. I was pleasantly surprised with their indoor and outdoor facilities.

In addition, the staff here are very friendly and they all had lovely smiles on their faces. In all seriousness, I can hang at the bar all night long.

Definitely give this place a visit and if you love prosciutto, I recommend their "Tough Love" panini. It's to for for. Prosciutto, goat cheese, and honey. MARVELOUS!

I'll definitely come back VERY soon!

Small portions of food. I liked my chicken sandwich. Tacos are small. Frozen drinks were good. We ordered hookah and the hookah person took forever! To come give us a refill which was upsetting. We ate outside. The music and vibe was nice. The service could improve.

Thought I was back in the 90's... or 60's. Anyways, great Irish Hospitality, service and something called Blue Grass on Sunday Nights, starts at 7pm, fresh air backyard, overall, highly recommend!

Always a great time here. This gem is tucked away in the private community of Breezy Point. Atmosphere is amazing with beautiful views of the water. You come here to relax with friends and enjoy the music and atmosphere. The food was very good too. Loved the giant pretzel and the salad chicken bowl. Frozen drinks are super tasty and fun.

This place is nice. It is located at an ideal spot near the beach. Sometimes an eatery near an ideal place doesn't live up to food taste and quality expectations, but this place definitely does. The food is delicious. I've eaten here a few times and I would say it's consistent and the drinks are decently strong. It is a fun atmosphere and they seem to run it well.

Heads-up: bring cash!! However you can get there, biking or walking recommended (driving is not possible), the Sugarbowl is a summertime-only staple for adults and families with their wide open deck, frozen drinks, a food and candy stand, and sweeping views of the dunes and ocean. Live music events are random but are elevated in this setting - worth showing up for. Pick-up food is pub grub plus some good options, like Table 87 pizzas and a chicken & mozzarella panini. This is not a fancy place that suffers fools - this is the Irish Riveria at its finest. Good place to chill solo, if you want.

Note: I have not experienced a time when insects were a problem, like I had on the bayside restaurants; may depend on which way the wind blows.

Service was fine! I was surprised that they had Colombian & Ecuadorian soda so of course I had to have it with my Tres Golpes! The food was good except for the mangu..it definitely could have been better!

Just be forewarned - you can't get to this place easily unless you're a local. Seems Breezy Point is a community that doesn't want outsiders there. Go to Jacob Riis beach instead.

Drove around trying to get to this place and ran into many deadends (google maps are wrong). After asking a local, found out it's quite the process to get to this place so I skipped it and went down to Far Rockaway instead, and skipped the drink.

Today is August 11th 2022, and the temperatures have broken so it's only like 85 degrees but it's still warm wife and I walk down from Kew gardens right by last call bar village diner down to mi casa. Is it night before it's very nice friendly sometimes the language differences English and Spanish my Spanish is not that good lead to issues but we've always had great food there had great food there today I had a Cuban my wife had some chicken dish food is great my wife also had Trace leches cake. I posted there latest venues in a few photos again a great place to go one caveat. When we walked in the door was open and the air conditioner was not on they did turn it on while we were there but it was pretty warm to begin with. That's one of those things when you deal with a small local place and I have a smile on my face cuz they're really good.

Nice comfy spot to enjoy some classic Dominican eats. Servers are always nice and friendly. Their roasted chicken is nice and juicy. The fries are crisp, and delicious. They have a wide selection of drinks. The mix/pick platter is nice however it’s kind of greasy. Beans and rice is done nicely. The bread pudding is good.

Most horrid burgers I've ever had, found hard pieces in the meat, the meat smelled bad and they use Kraft processed cheese, no tomato, no lettuce, no pickle AND it's overpriced! French fries OK. The staff in the restaurant side are obnoxious n simple teens, my friend ordered something else n like tell someone you're out of something before they order it, u prepare it n serve it 'oh sorry we're out of sour cream' as u hand it to her. Just as most of Breezy Point....the product of the rebuilt Sugar Bowl is making Breezy Point great. Definitely makes their beach community a wonderful place to be. Good Job! The service is fabulous.

Went for weekday lunch. Plenty of table availability, looked very clean, waitress was extremely sweet and attentive. Meal arrived in a timely manner. Flavor was amazing!! Real authentic cooking. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable.
Took left overs to go and added a slice of Dominican cake which I was to full to even taste, but you can't go to a Dominican place and not take home some cake!
Any of their soups will heal you ailments and your soul :-)
