We had breakfast at the Surfers Paradise Beach Cafe, and it was absolutely delicious! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The ambiance was interesting with the birds wanting to participate in our eating experience. It is a gorgeous spot by the ocean. The service was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. I recommend stopping by for a meal if you’re in the area! Say Hi to the bin chicken!

We spent New Year's Eve at BMD Northcliffe Surf Club, and it was truly fantastic ! The atmosphere was absolutely electric, creating the perfect backdrop for a memorable celebration. The staff were all incredibly friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be there, which added to the overall positive vibe that this club seems to ooze.

The food was delicious, earning a solid 4 stars. Each dish was well-prepared and flavorful, though there is always room for slight improvement. However, what truly set the evening apart was the breathtaking view of the fireworks from the deck. Watching the sky light up while enjoying a late night drink, and the company of loved ones made for an unforgettable night.

Whether you're looking for a spot to celebrate a special occasion or simply want to enjoy a meal with an amazing view, BMD Northcliffe Surf Club is definitely worth a visit!

We really enjoyed our visit here. The food was excellent and the service was first class. They were VERY busy and there was a mix up with our food order but this was rectified quickly and efficiently.
The perfect spot for lunch and to spend a couple of hours. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
The only issue was parking. Parking is very difficult to find but we were pre warned and booked an Uber instead.

The tapas menu is sensational. So delicious that we forgot to take pics. Tacos, lamb skewers, roasted cauliflower and even fries - highly recommend 👌 Also a generous serve of churros with chocolate filling.

Won a package for my 30th birthday to celebrate at Cali Beach with me and up to 50 friends. Saw the reviews and knew it probably wasn't going to be great service, but thought I'd just try and avoid buying food specifically from them and I'd be safe. As my guests arrived, about 10% of them were given a wristband and a drink ticket as promised (I wasn't even given one when I come in and explained who I was 🤦🏼‍♀️). None were told where the booth was. Not sure what the wrist band even did to be honest, as nothing seemed to happen with those who didn't have it. I will say the staff were mostly friendly and the food was decent, and it was a gorgeous little poolside spot right by the beach.

However the worst was the cake. I'd brought a cake with me and they offered to put it in their fridge, which was great. Well around came time I wanted to bring it out as some of my guests were about to leave. I asked the bartender and he said he'd take care of it. Well 15 minutes went by, still nothing. Long story short, me and my guests asked THREE MORE TIMES and finally the cake came, over an hour later! I had literally 3 guests left to enjoy it because everyone else had to leave. So disappointing.

Had breakfast, nothing special about the service, but i admire the staff seems to always try outfast the birds from snatching leftovers (which seems to cause a potential mess and danger to other customers).

I’m only giving BMD Northcliff Surf Club 4 stars instead of 3 because I like the place and have for many years.

In this visit though the food let me down….a bit. I have come here on occasion for years and loved it every time but this time not🤷‍♂️

Cali Beach in Surfers Paradise is a great spot to spend the day. The venue has a relaxed yet stylish vibe, with beautiful views and a fantastic pool area that makes it easy to unwind. Stephen, who looked after us during our visit, was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. The food and drinks were excellent as well, with a solid variety that hit the mark. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you’re in the area, and the service from Stephen definitely added to the experience.

New Years Eve 2024 at Cali Beach was seriously something else. Amazing setup, good music and the staff were super polite. It was a pleasure dealing with Stephen, he helped organise everything for us leading up to the event and on the night he continuously checked up on us. Everything was amazing, we all had heaps of fun and I couldn’t be happier.

We hired day beds with the drinks and food package. While the setup was nice, half of our food order was initially forgotten, and we had to follow up twice before it was served. Service became noticeably slower as the venue got busier, and we eventually resorted to going to the bar ourselves to order drinks.

Overall, the beach club has a lively vibe, and we enjoyed our day as a group.

However a group of older men behind us openly snorting and having a “scout” approach young women to join them. This gave the place a sleazy atmosphere and isn’t the type of place I feel comfortable returning to.

Great place! Really great staff, everything was so amazing, happy faces everyone we spoke with, great service, wish you guys were our local but we’ll be back

Even though it rained Xavier beach host was AMAZING. Went above & beyond for us. We had our 4th NKB Finale party here. & it didn’t disappoint. Has service was second to none and the beautiful girls that served us at the front we’re just lovely. It really made our event..

Everything was quick, service, seating, table food & drinks, was just the BEST. Thank you Cali for hiring people like Xavier. Made our day that much more special. Give that man a raise!!!!

Breakfast Highly recommended, the buffet to start and then you can order a menu, we ordered a very tasty and filling breakfast burger, my boyfriend was happy and I ordered a delicious Mediterranean avocado. We also ordered delicious and large ice coffees. Isabel served us very kindly and attentively. Pleasant music and a beautiful view of the sea. Highly recommended, I will definitely come back.

Atmosphere: **
Sunday night, beach front dining. We found a 7 seat high (bar) table, which was very cramped and felt uncomfortable. Additionally, the tables seemed over compressed and hard to negotiate if you needed to walk around. Inside the venue was better presented but also look very unused considering it’s the Gold Coast. As the open area is shared with 3 other restaurants the customer experience feels very flat.

I give this rating as constructional feedback.
You were understaffed tonight, with delays on the food - additionally a mushroom sauce was missing from the rump steak order, notified immediately at the bar and it took almost 10 minutes to get it out to us.
Staff were friendly and doing the best they could but it felt poorly organised with tables going un-bussed for some time. This allowed for seagulls to fly in, land on the tables and start eating the left over food. This is a serious hygiene issue - more attention here should be given. The whole area should be netted from guards to the roadside ceiling.

Order Chicken Parmigiana & Beef Brisket Burger (chef special)
Chicken Parmigiana: Napoli sauce was really flat in flavour, I suspect that not enough sauce was used. The chicken was good thick portion though, juicy and tasty. Salad seemed thrown together, but the chips were excellent!
Beef Brisket Burger: brisket was melt in your mouth texture, but sriracha sauce was lacking in hot spice flavour, was rather mild for me, the size of the burger was perfect, larger then your normal burger, overall a tasty good size burger only, no chips which was an extra cost.

I believe there are some serious issues that need to be addressed with the service, food and atmosphere of this restaurant and also the outside dining area in general across all of these restaurants. I highly encourage you to look into this.

Waygu beef burger was terrible. Bread was like 2 day old Cole’s bread rolls. Wife’s lamb pitta was good. Oysters fresh. Staff were friendly.

At first I was shocked to pay for a $22 burger, alone with no fries... But WOW! The biggest chicken schnitzel burger I've ever seen. Worth the money! Food was quickly served and fresh. My husband had the burger with the lot with a side of sweet potato fries, there was so many fries to share with three of us. Delicious! Our friend from Mexico wanted to try the barramundi fish. She was sooo happy! She said compliments to the chef. 🙏🏼😊. This restaurant is worth going too, as you have the beautiful view of the beach 🏖️

Had lunch at Beach Cafe recently, and the food was fantastic! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a meal by the water with some really great options on the menu.

That said, the service was quite slow. The staff were friendly, but it took a while for our food to arrive, even though it wasn’t too busy. If you’re not in a rush, it’s still a nice place to relax and enjoy the view.

I’d definitely come back for the food, but hopefully, next time the service is a bit faster!

During this stay at Peppers we had Three breakfast buffets and two dinners at Hyde and overall the restaurant surprised me well on the positive side!

Breakfast buffet continental section is not big but had all the breakfast basics except for cold meat and cheese. We particularly liked the small Acai section on Tuesday(did not got a picture sorry). The food in the hot cooked to order part was delicious! We particularly loved the Mediterranean Avocado with the delicious nutty cheese and beautifully grilled artisan bread. they were not huge portions but complemented by the cold buffet it was very sufficient… unless piling up the plate with bacon is part of your breakfast buffet must. :)
The only big negative was the coffee station… below average breakfast buffet coffee machine quality.
The ladies and gents working there were great except for this one girl in black on Friday morning that was rather not nice when we already had to wait fair bit for a table… hence not five star here…

The dinner menu is DEVINE! Our favourite were… almost everything! The pea pasta did not sound much but it was so nice with just the perfect spice level and perfect pasta we ordered twice.

We ate here tonight hoping for a lovely water view while we ate our meal. We opted for ‘share plates.’ The food that was served was nice enough. However ‘share plate was a poor description.One of our dishes was ‘lamb skewer with flat bread and some sort of sauce’ for the price of $20.
I assumed being a ‘share plate’ that there would in fact be enough to share. Sadly, we were given a plate with ONE very small piece of lamb in one small wrap. I am not sure how this was supposed to be shared.
The staff were very friendly and the service was prompt. However, my idea of a share plate is that at least two people could enjoy it.

The location was welcoming, and the service and food were excellent. Please use the QR code to place your order. I find this setup convenient, although it may not offer traditional table service like some negative 1-star reviews 😁

Very delicious , we couldn't get through it. Eggs were slightly too runny for me, but I didn't have the option to choose eggs via QR Code.

Other than that food was great and customer service 10/10.

It’s beautiful, staff friendly and the food is amazing. We went for breakfast, sat outside and I had the best iced chocolate ever!
Prices are ok, not too expensive, and the view is incredible!

Absolutely loved it. The cocktails were all amazing!! The food platter included with our daybed package was fantastic (except the sushi wasn't the freshest). Great atmosphere and the volleyball area and slide were also so good. Loved it!

The food was so much more than I imagined. The staff absolutely amazing. The atmosphere - who can complain about the view. I had calamari chips and salad. So yummy and fresh. I hate to leave left overs however my belly couldn't fit it all in. Great value and a wonderful experience.

We ordered spicy deep-fried whole barramundi garnished with various vegetables, spicy stir-fried chicken garnished with various vegetables, Thai omelette with minced meat, Pad thai, pineapple rice, and fried roasted pork with seasonal green.
We l9ve Thai cuisine. But, we were quite disappointed with the food here. We felt the thai dishes here were overrated.
The deep-fried barramundi and the stir-fried chicken breast were overcooked that both the fish meat and chicken meat became tough and acerbic. Lots of mixed vegetables garnished that dish, but too much that covered the original taste of the dish. The pad thai and pineapple rice were okay only.
Among all the dishes, the thai omelette was the best. In fact, we ordered two serves.

Excellent tasting Food & Customer Service!! Great location & right on the beach. Cool Hawaiian- bali vibes decor. Well priced. Bar staff friendly. Kids gaming room is pretty big with lots of things in there.

We go to Gold coast every year and we always go here for our very first dinner!! 😭💖 Such an amazing place with really impressive Thai culture atmosphere, even the staff are wearing really nice traditional clothes. Very close to the nice hotels, just within walking distance.

The food is absolutely amazing!!!!! Lots of veggies and meat in a portion, a lot of options and the decorations are nice. 💖

Situated on a busy Esplanade corner this cafe is quite big and convenient. Hubby had the big breakfast and gave it 10/10. For $26 you would expect it to be generous and it didn't disappoint. My smashed avo on sourdough was $19 and had plenty of avo. The beetroot hummus was a nice flavour touch. A touch too much citrus dressing made it quite wet, but tasty all the same. Our coffees were hot and $5.50 each for a mug size. Staff were acceptably friendly but this cafe doesn't require engagement as food can be ordered via the QR code. Water is help yourself. Ambience is varied depending upon whether you sit inside or out near the road. Decor is a pleasant beach vibe with music playing. We would eat here again. Suitable for families too.

Cute restaurant with beach views. I visited during breakfast and everything is self serve. You just grab a menu, a seat and order from the QR code including payment. You grab your own cups, water and condiments then wait for your food. It was pleasantly presented and if you can’t be bothered interacting with people or talking, this is a really great place.

My family of 7- 5 kids & 2 adults, attended the sandbar for dinner the 15/02/2024. The meal was delicious, atmosphere was splendid and the time there was extremely pleasant. Staff were kind and helpful. 4 of us had the rump steak, 1 had a parmy, 1 had kids fried fish and 1 had kids Spaghetti. For our palates the spaghetti was aweful, it’s had a taste of mint ( or maybe too much basil now I think of it?) so that went mainly untouched. Everything else from the gravy right through to the steaks were amazing.
It was a really pleasant experience!
It is Quite expensive when 7 of us go out, but the sandbar was surprisingly well priced!

Have to give this a 5 star rating…. So authentic I thought I was back in Thailand. Love the fact you can have as a level of spice ‘chef hot’ 🌶️ they nailed every dish and loved the experience …. I especially loved the curry puffs!

Prime location overlooking the beach at Surfers Paradise. Island vib decor which blends into the beachside atmosphere perfectly to enhance your lunch or dinner experience. The Oreo cheesecake is a must have.. I could have had a dozen. Good food at a reasonable price. 👌🏾

I love Thai food but unfortunately this did not taste like authentic Thai food. Very flavourless. The chicken skewers were very hard thin & dry. The omelette portion size was very small only half the container & I got vegetarian omelette so for the price I expected a decent serving size. The rice is so expensive also & tastes like nothing. Extremely disappointing wouldn't return. Everything on the menu is expensive & the 3 dishes I tried were not good at all. The restaurant looks nice & the staff were nice. I paid $60 for 1 entree, rice & omelette takeaways which included a 10% discount.

Pizza 🍕 was ordered this time and it was very great.

We were excited to try this place as there were good reviews. End results - Underwhelming.

Fish tacos were bland. Not enough greens and or taste.

Steak sandwich was tough and chewy. Chips were nice and crunchy.

Salad was average.. we added chicken, nothing special. Chicken was herby.

Views of the beach is pleasant. Not a place on my list to try again anytime soon.

The food was delicious and big servings. Normally some Thai food I have had at other restaurants have been oily but none of the dishes here were.
The service was good.

Always great food here been coming for years. It’s a mix of indoor and outdoor eating and the outdoor can be quite hot for Thai food. Service is fast and prices are reasonable. My only complaint is that table size they will sit four on a tiny round table and there is barely room for the food to share or drinks. They have huge very heavy carved chairs which look great but aren’t practical can barely move the m to get in and out. But we are here for food and the food is great so I’ll be back.

Let me start off with the entertainment. A Karen has a fit (Karen haircut and all), that her chips came out first even though she was explicitly told this is a tapas style menu... Did comes out when it's ready. She had a fit and walked out, than in, then out...Great entertainment.

Now to the fun part. Good was great. It really was. A bit pricey but nothing to steep. Service was also great. Communication up front about tapas style etc. I loved the tacos.

Tried this place on a whim and wow the food was excellent. I had the tonkatsu meal set and honestly, the fried pork loin was thick and honestly delicious. Highly recommend and hope to return soon.

Enjoyed breakfast here a couple of times. $35pp for a hot dish and buffet of fruit, cereal, pastries, yoghurt, toast, juice and coffee. Nice airy atmosphere. Staff were friendly. Service was mostly timely. Would definitely dine here again.

We came for the $35 breakfast buffet. Great views, the eggs benny hash and burger were good, but the pancakes were disappointing (first time I couldn't finish my pancakes). Pastries were good, with 4 types available, and there was a cold section with natural yoghurt or chia (which was yummy).
Coffee from the machine is included in the buffet, doesn't look great, but tastes good enough

On balance, I would come here again for the views, and just not order the pancakes

I had the tonkatsu for dinner and it was great. The meat was tender and the crumbs crunchy. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Enjoyed their Japanese craft beer also. Service was great too, food came out quick and waitresses were very attentive. I guess the place was a bit small and only had 1 high chair but didn't really impact us much.

I have been living on the Gold Coast for almost three years now, and I have tried almost all the Japanese meals in Surfer's Paradise, but I still believe this restaurant serves the best Japanese cuisine in Surfer's Paradise.

We love Izakaya restaurant and Izakaya UMAKAMON is the one you •MUST• visit when you come to Surfers Paradise.

Love all the dishes we ordered. It’s fresh and delicious. My kids love their Udon 🍜 with prawn tempura. The most important is a pot of hot sake to complete your meal.

Our 1st dining experience at Izskaya Umakamon was spectacular! Food and service were amazing! Definitely a try if you are in Gold Coast.

We had to wait 45 minutes to get the table but we just walked around the area.

Best Japanese restaurant we have been to. The staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive. The restaurant is small, yet intimate and authentic.
The food is sensational. A wide and diverse range of dishes with focus on quality produce and with an eye for creative presentation. Very highly recommended.

Very high quality Japanese restaurant. Impressed by the staffs and chef. We only saw one main chef and two assistants in the kitchen but they managed to serve in a reasonable time. Food quality was excellent.

The wagyu tataki with sea urchin and foie gras was our favourite. The beef was well cooked. Sea urchin was fresh. All three elements combined together to give a interesting but delicious textures.

The deep fried oysters was perfectly fried with crunchy outer layer. The yuzu mayo matched so well with it and can make it less greasy.

Grilled king fish wings was a little bit too salty if you eat without rice. But still nicely grilled, the fish tastes not dry.

The Mentaiko sauce udon was surprisingly good. We expected it could be a bit too creamy or oily but turns out it’s not! The sauce tasted delicious and with the right texture. There is also a onsen egg served with it which you can break it and mix the yolk with the udon to make it even more delicious.

Love the vibe of the restaurant and a big thanks to the chef and staff.

I feel incredibly lucky to have enjoyed a delicious meal here on the last day of my trip, thanks to a cancellation. The food was tasty and authentic, making me feel like I was transported to Japan with every bite. The staff are very nice and friendly as well. Thank you.
