Place has been shut down since Covid.. traveled all the way there today and were turned away. We were told sorry but this has been closed since Covid!!! I asked why they still advertise not only as open on their sight but also on the The Tarrytown House website… I was told we are so sorry.. we’ve asked corporate for years now to please remove it and they don’t. Nothing worse than taking time to research a place drive an hour to find out it’s been closed for 4YEARS now??
And to the owner who will respond to this post that your sorry that I am displeased… save your energy and do what your staff has been asking for .. remove your closed establishment from these sights. We were celebrating something today and it was absolutely unacceptable to be treated in this manner!

Our group got chicken tenders, fried pickles, mozzarella sticks, fries and it was all below average, even for bar food. The worst of all was the $18 Buffalo chicken wrap that came with no fries that was basically a lettuce sandwich. (see picture) I said something to the server and she looked at he like I had 2 heads. She said she would bring more chicken and 30 minutes later and she never did. Also $36 for 2 slushi drinks is a bit much during a Happy Hour time.. Outside of being on the water, there was absolutely no redeeming qualities with this establishment. We will never go back!
It is confusing to read negative reviews regarding a self service establishment such as Barley. Reviewers mentioned lazy staff but the staff are not traditional waitstaff. At Barley, you order your own drinks and food. The servers deliver your food promptly to your table and provide you w any condiments you may need. Perhaps these complaining customers were expecting an upscale waterfront dining establishment. Barley is no such animal. It is a beautiful spot to grab a drink, some no frills food and enjoy the majestic Hudson river along w breathtaking sunsets and great music. Is the bathroom dirty? Yes. Are there bugs at sunset? Yes. Which are all to be expected at an outdoor waterfront restaurant. Don’t let these negative Nancy reviewers keep you away. Barley is an understated little gem on the river. If you go there knowing what to expect, you will not be disappointed.
Found this hidden gem on are way home from Connecticut on a perfect summer day, decided to skip the traffic and look for a spot for a cocktail and nibble. This place checked all the boxes, sunset, live music and delish bar snacks. Will definitely he back. Terry town has some great stuff!
This is a cool spot right on the Hudson in Tarrytown. It has a relatively casual and relaxed vibe. The menu is a bit limited but the food was good. We ordered fish and chips, tuna sandwich, mozzarella sticks, guacamole, corn dip, and fish tacos. You basically seat yourself and order food at the counter and they bring the food to you. Choice of refreshments, especially non-alcoholic was scarce. The staff were nice and helpful. The food was a bit pricy but that's normal for these riverside food spots.
This is my 3rd time here and I will keep coming back. The view and atmosphere is so chill, I always feel like I’m on a vacation here. The customer service is great! Our bartender, Christian, was the best! He was friendly and offered great service. The live band, Mike Ruskin Music, added to the chill vacation vibe. They were great! The food is decent. It’s your average American fare. It’s not bad, not great, it’s decent. I keep coming back, not for the food, but the atmosphere. I would recommend to a friend.
Never disappoints! The bartenders are always accommodating, on point and friendly (Keagan makes a mean Margarita). The food always hits the spot. The views are unreal, especially during/after sunset. Laid back but classy atmosphere. Perfect for all occasions and something for everyone with plenty of space, whether you want to celebrate an event, hang out with friends, or sit by yourself and watch TV at the bar.
Overpriced and waited 45 minutes for our food. Totally coasting on being “on the water”. This sad plain cheese quesadilla was $23! No soap in the bathrooms.

Nice view of the Hudson and Tappan Zee bridge! I ordered the black bean dip with a side of grilled chicken. It was tasty. Menu is simple. You order at the counter on your way in, seat yourself & order your drinks at the bar.
I worked with George to organize a farewell luncheon a few weeks ago. We had 33 people and we used the back of the restaurant which was perfect! First, let me say that George was AMAZING. He communicated promptly about everything from the room availability to the menu to the price! And the food was really delicious. It's not easy to serve 33 people all at once and he and his staff did a great job! Thank you so much George! I know that everyone that attended really enjoyed themselves!

Came for a drink before a show. I had dinner at another location. They were very accommodating, dining room at the bar for me and they make great martinis. Everyone’s food looks good. I would def come back to try food.
The food was good not sure i can justify the price though for what it was. A lil cramped inside and dimly lit but i guess its what gives it its rustic charm. Definitely not a casual dining experience so be prepared to spend money. Personally it wasn’t for me.

Stayed here for a company off-site event. Appearance is decent however, staff was rude not just in person but also over the phone when I called to inquire about getting a receipt emailed. I witnessed them also being rude with 2 of our executives. The rooms are very much outdated as the carpet is super old and you can tell needs a deep cleaning. Breakfast was standard.
I went October 2023 for a weekend wedding. It was a nice area. The campus seemed pretty old and rustic. I booked my room as apart of a wedding block a year prior. I was a little disappointed when I arrived because when I booked the room it required payment in the full amount. They said my card didn’t go through but they kept the booking, which didn’t make sense. I thought it was already paid and had to do some digging on my own. I would have appreciated them reaching out and telling what was going on. Having to pay over $800 on the spot was very unexpected.
I stayed in the king sunroom. There were many times the room smelled like the food from downstairs, which wasn’t too bad because it smelled good, but I rather have a more neutral smell. It was better than the musky smell my other friends rooms smelled like. I wish they had better ventilation. The roof deck area was legit. Loved having some of my friends over to enjoy the view, that was the best part. I wish they had some lighting out there for night time. The lighting they did had seemed to not work. The ac didn’t seem to work too well, as it was unexpectedly hot for October.
The pool area was nice and they had stocked towels. They also had a nice sauna, but the ceiling was buckling a bit. The pool is near the sports area and it seemed like some of the equipment didn’t work in there.
As many other posts say, this hotel has such great bones, but they really need to spend some time doing updates to their campus. I wouldn’t have stayed here if I wasn’t attending a wedding or event here.

Beautiful area in Tarrytown. A bit pricey but worth it. The shower stall was a bit narrow, not much water pressure but enough to get the job done. Parking can be a pain due to the locations of the parking areas but doable just the same. Not a fan of the TV being turned off automatically. The TVs do not have the ability to cast your phone to, but that to me is a minor drawback. All in all, nice scenery, for how old as the building may be, it is decently up to the current times. There are a couple places to plug in a USB device, electronic thermostat on the wall. Small fridge along with a safe. Unfortunately there wasn't a microwave.

Our family had a wonderful time, the grounds were beautiful and the location was convenient for what we needed it for. We really enjoyed the breakfast and indoor pool. Our room was very clean, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. We would have loved to try goose feathers, it seemed very chic and trendy but we had our toddler. My only complaint is it’s such a beautiful property and I wish it was just better kept, the place needs some tlc and more fire pits as advertised. It was very chilly and they only had the one on at nighttime but it was too crowded to sit. Overall we would come back.
LOVED this place! they had such a fun seasonal menu with an incredible pumpkin cocktail (the pie-eyed pumpkin) and one of the most innoventive appetizers i've ever had - burrata cheese with a pumpkin donut. they were so accommodating when we showed up in a hurry, and the service was efficient and friendly. highly recommend, especially to anyone visiting tarrytown and sleepy hollow in the fall season!
Wasn’t going to leave a review but the pair of baby socks that were found under our sheets put me over the edge. Chances these sheets were changed? Room looked like something from Brady Bunch era. Layout of buildings is awful. Had to walk through a labyrinth of buildings and stairs to get to room. Valet and bell hop overwhelmed so had to bring our own bags. It rained the whole weekend. No awnings over buildings and can’t open umbrella inside because double doors on buildings too narrow so you just get drenched. Restaurant hours limited. We did not like the food for the function we were attending.
Beautiful place to stay. I gave it 4 stars because the room smelled funky. When I told the front desk they didn't blink an eye. Or do anything. I did have dryer sheets I put in the air conditioner vent. It helped a little. The ac didn't work the greatest either.

I was in Tarrytown today and stoped by for lunch here! And wow! It was sop good! The place is nice and very clean. The service was very good and the food was even better!! I had their burger 🍔 and it was incredible!!! Perfectly cooked and delicious!!! Must try!
Delicious food & lovely atmosphere. You can dine outside or in. We were there for lunch & so we ordered the Cobb Salad, Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad & the Joyce Chicken Sandwich. Their Tiramsu was amazing!!! Attentive & friendly staff! Definitely going back!
The service here was wonderful. Tim went above and beyond in welcoming us and In seeing that my sister and I, in separate rooms, were comfortable and in rooms that were not only well appointed, but also easily accessible to the pool and dining area.
The estate is lovely and the staff in the Mansion at brunch (delicious) and front desk made everything even more memorable.
At the pool we ran into Rita who gave us some background info on the history of the area. Pool area very nice with small bar.
All in all we had a lovely three days and look forward to returning soon.
Just wish there was a gift shop- we would have loved a book with history and photos.

oh the setback how I love you! the bartenders (Brian and George) are always welcoming. the bathroom is always clean. the bar is never sticky, as are the tables. the atmosphere is always on point even on an extremely busy night. thank you for being the local watering hole and being a place to let the work week melt away. where else can you hear the theme to duck tales play and the entire bar sings? xoxo Setback forever!
Great selection of beers and ciders. Very cosy. There was a guy playing the guitar singing 90s indie rock. Super entertaining with locals.
Loved this place, tried to go out in Sleepy Hollow proper, it sucked. Thi place had cheap beer and cider, was open late and had the "artist/young" crowd.Skip Beekman Ave Sleepy Hollow, fun as the history is the bars are bad. I really liked this place.
The Set Back Inn is a gem. Out front are meters for parking and inside is a casual cash-only dive with cool locals and randoms from the Tarrytown area. The bartender was a cool dude who was easy to chat with and always kept my beer full. I'll be back.
I met here to close a business with my partner, we tasted a can of Guinness, but definitely the one that broke my expectations was the lager from the tap.

This gorgeous estate will always hold a special place in my heart. This is my boyfriend’s and mine very first date night. The restaurant is below and has a very romantic intimate feel. I love the old world of this place. The wait staff was insanely friendly and attentive. The food was out of this world. I tell everyone about this place if I get the chance. I hope one day we can come back when we’re back in NY.
loved this place, waiter was friendly, atmosphere was dim-lit, little bit of history, and food was amazing! Best burger I've ever had! I even had a bite of what I think was a Philly Cheese steak and the flavor was amazing. Only downside is that I don't have a bigger stomach to try everything! I can't wait to come back!
Good atmosphere in a historic speakeasy that has been around since before prohibition. The food was underwhelming and a bit overpriced, but it's worth going once to see the place.
the ambience is warm and relaxed, with a dimly lit dining room and a fire place but not stuffy or over the top formal. The staff were super professional and nice. The food was absolutely delicious. NO doubt I'd definitely come here outside of Restaurant Week because the prices are not overblown either.. My table of four had the Burger which was one of the best I've tasted. We had the Flatbread with BBQ chicken, the Burrata, the open faced philly cheese steak sandwich --which was probably the star of the day not greasy or fake or lacking peppers or filled with weird cheese. I am telling you, you will not regret coming here and you will immediately pull out your calendar and figure out which day of next week you can spare to come back to Cellar 49.
Good prices, really nice bartender but the place, literally located in the cellar, felt a bit like a dungeon. That said, you could take your drinks outside to a lovely view of the surrounding hotel.
Well it was hot - literally the air conditioning was broken but it was everything you want from a bar. Dark, great juke box, and fun to talk to friends. We were there early so it might be a different scene at night.

An excellent experience, we arrived on a Friday night as restaurant week ended. The crowd was small, but filled the room nicely. The bartender crafted excellent drinks and the newer menu boasted of a nice selection of dinners. We chose the smoked pork chop (excellent!) and the roast chicken (also excellent!) The price is a bit on the high side for our tastes, but the quality of the food, the drink and the decor make it well worth the splurge.
