Horrible customer service. They have sale signs up and don’t honor prices. I came in to buy the Parmesan cheese that has a giant sale sign by it and I got an email about being 28% off and no one had any idea what’s going on nor honored the price. The email was sent yesterday and said it’s good for 3 days but no one would honor it. They told me I need to come back. This is so misleading for a consumer. Why have all the sale signs up, send an email only to not have a sale? Whole Foods was so much better before Amazon. This store also has horrible clientele, very rude and aggressive people. Go to another store, avoid this Whole Foods.

I often go to whole foods in the states. I felt this salad bar was most well maintained. The staff cares often.

At Whole Foods on 3rd & Fairfax, it's more than just shopping; it's an experience. Rubbing elbows with both celebrities and common folk, you'll find me marvelling at the freshest ingredients and the finest selections, from the bakery to the butcher. It's a chef's paradise, truly. The array of services, like the mochi bar and custom floral arrangements, elevate the grocery run to a culinary adventure. And yes, I'll be back, scouting for the best produce alongside the stars. It's where quality meets the community, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Fish wasn't as fresh as it could be. Some of the sane pieces were there the previous day. I prefer shopping at locations that have new fish everyday. Follow me for more
The best supermarket in a 20 minute radius by far!! They have an amazing produce selection with organic options in almost every category. I spend hours looking for options that are free from canola oil / natural flavors / citric acid and other non-food ingredients when I go to other grocery stores, but at WF I always find what I’m looking for. I also think they have a great selection of personal care/ cleaning products. The store is clean, organized and spacious.
Amazing place with lots of food options from around the world - Mexican, Brazilian, French, Spanish, Italian, Singaporean, Vietnamese, and Middle eastern were some of the outlets I noticed. Went during lunch hour on a Saturday, and the place was very crowded. But it definitely added to the vibe of the place though. Next time will go on a quieter day so I could taste variety of dishes. Highly recommend to anyone visiting LA!
The amount of delicious foods found here is uncountable! So many options, such variety I wished I could have tried everything that was being offered!!
Very clean and inviting.
The farmers market has a long history dating back to the 1800s. It started as a dairy farm, then pop has discovered on the land. Then it was a stadium and baseball field all before it was a farmers market from 1934. There are a variety of vendors and cuisine available, all family run businesses.
There are also high street stores such as Zara, Williams Sonoma etc.
Parking available onsite for $2.50 per 15mins however validated tickets have 90mins free parking.
Very good halal Grocery shop, fresh Meat and Chicken
Amazing Asian grocery on Sawtelle. I enjoy the sushi that they make fresh every day and all the imported snacks/frozen goods. Sushi rolls are all less than $11 and are a great option for a quick lunch or dinner.
Very good international market, they have a wide variety of Arabic and Persian food. Also at amazing prices!
Great store for fresh made Japanese food
I have shopped here for years and they are consistently good. They may not have the same charm as the old mom-and-pop groceries that were on Sawtelle years ago, but their quality and organic offerings keep them on my 'yes' list. Their prepared sushi is the best I have found. Lots of ingredients are available here that you won't find at other groceries.

I enjoy this grocer because 1) 9/10 times they have everything I need, 2) it's equal or cheaper than big name grocers with no drop in quality, and 3) it's owned by local folks in the community who tend to be very kind. One of the staff once insisted on taking my basket up to the front for me and getting me a new one because the one I was carrying was really heavy - it was very sweet.
Fun market on Sawtelle Blvd with lots of Japanese treats. They make their own sushi there and can order ahead of time with their catering department for parties.

I came specifically for some sodas from Japan and they had everything I was looking for. This market has good deals on meats and fish. They also have bento boxes and other meals you can purchase and easily heat up at home for your convenience.

The only downside to this market is there isn’t much help from the staff. They had two registers open but nobody really around to ask help to so it’s definitely more of a search for things if you aren’t familiar with the market.

They have a small parking lot and an underground lot you can pay parking for.

Good (not great) selection of middle eastern foods and snacks. Good service, great produce, and great halal butcher.
I used to shop at this store for many years!!!this morning I was surprised, the store is so dirty the meat doesn’t look fresh and new . I was looking for semolina and it was all expired with the mold on it . They should either makeover all the store with more hygiene or just close it .
Such a cool place! A labyrinth of stores, shops and restaurants, markets like this used to be the go-to place for people to gather and get all their goods. Prices can vary widely depending on where you go but I’ve personally never had a bad experience here
Love it. A grocery store with it's own butcher the way of yesteryear. Very recommended for middleastern food lovers.
Amazing place! Very clean, lots of stores and lovely ambiance, but the best part is the food! Very affordable fruits and veggies, and tons of options for lunch, with different types of cuisine from all over the world!
Nijiya Market Little Tokyo Store is a haven for Japanese cuisine lovers. Their selection of Japanese groceries, snacks, and ingredients is extensive. The store is well-organized, and the staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Whether you're a seasoned cook or new to Japanese cuisine, Nijiya Market is a must-visit for all your culinary needs.
Love this place! Whenever I’m in the mood for Japanese fare(and a lot of it)I come here. Being able to make some of my favorite dishes at home is one of my favorite things to do and this store has everything I need to do just that!

I love going here for things not sold in American stores. It's the best place I've found to get Thai chilis, and several types of mushrooms and fungus, as well as glass (sweet potato) noodles. I always love their variety of beautiful kitchen ware, bowls, etc.
Well managed, small Japanese store that’s open late. I like this place for a quick fix when needed. The prepared food items are fresh and authentic. Not the best Japanese market in LA, (that’s Marukai Market in DTLA) but a very solid and reliable little store.
This used to be my go-to in the early ninety was the BEST Jamaican food hands down. My visit today was for a regular one of there's whom unable to go themselves. Why are our people so unpleasant? I'm patronizing your business. Is it that hard to say hi?
The iconic market in LA. Tons of dishes from various countries. Lively with vintage vibe.

The ice cream here is great, love their corned beef with cabbage and potato.
I bought lamb shanks and lamb meat, so both smells really bad. The meat was really old and nasty. I recommend you check the meat before buying.
Very rude person. It's show there to have fees for credit cards. I tried to use debit and the guy was rude and said doesn't matter will charge anyway. I just left my things there. Don't recommend

Love it! It's been awhile since I've been in the market. It has so much the people who work there are helpful and they have a ton of snacks, so fun to go explore and find things to try that you never thought you'd get a chance to. Great market!
Great place to visit for a variety of food options, and to just relax, enjoy the laid back atmosphere, and then visit The Grove next door for an afternoon of retail therapy,
The Original Farmers Market dates back to the summer of 1934, at what was then called The Gilmore Ranch. A handful of farmers and vendors parked their trucks on the corner of Fairfax and 3rd Street (the same location today) and began selling their produce, and other items from the back of their trucks.
A must visit in the city of angels - I was lost in wonder for a couple of hours. Located at fairfax and third, this market is mostly outdoors and boasts some of the finest cuisines from across the globe. There are also the freshest fruit and some cool souvenirs and merchandise for sale too.
Wednesdays seniors get a 10% discount.
I don’t recommend. Lazy people they don’t even price tickets items, unknown prices and you’ll be surprised at register!!!
Terrible, rude service! There are hundreds of foreigners walking in this district! And when for US citizens it*s enough to show driving licence, foreigners must (!!!!!) show only passport!
We had EU and Australian licences in our company! We were told No! Go away!
Never again we will come back here!

Food is great, atmosphere no a/c too hot, service as always too slow, but what make me come is the great food..
The store is small, but it's selling Japanese items if you're looking for Japanese stores/groceries/items.
They sell fresh/hot to-go foods and offer some discounts depending on the time of the day. You can find sushi, deli, snacks, drinks, beverages, sake, udon fresh/packaged, tea, Japanese foods, etc. Also, they deliver, or you can order through services like Doordash.
They have security for your safety concerns.

I was looking for a certain brand of Japanese shampoo, and Marukai has an outstanding selection of personal care, cosmetics, household, and cooking items. This is in addition to a wide range of Asian foods, fish, sushi, and bento box fresh meals prepared daily (in the refrigerator section). Love that I can find most of my Asian grocery needs in WLA, without having to drive downtown to Little Tokyo or Chinatown.

Lots of cooking oil on every food. Lots of flys. Fish soup not well cooked. Go to eat at whole foods cheaper and healthier than this tijuana place restaurant
Pros:
- An outdoor market that has been an iconic LA destination since 1934, offering a variety of goods. (Many are family-owned businesses and it is loved by both tourists and locals.)
- You can taste dishes from various countries such as the US, Brazil, Cajun, China, France, Greece, Italy, Mexico, the Middle East and more.
- They frequently hold special events and live music on Thursdays. Public restrooms are available.

Cons:
- Parking can be validated for up to an hour and a half. (Operating hours are from 9 am to 9 pm on weekdays and from 10 am to 7 pm on weekends)
- Not all farms are local and some farmers source produce from farms that are far away to attract more consumers with their unique selection.

Great little grocery outlet with many traditional Iranian "stuff". Nice and friendly people. Competitive prices.
This place is a nice little grocery store in Little Tokyo. However, when it came time to check out, and I had a $50 order, you can clearly see the ego setting in for this place.

I simply wanted to purchase two cans of Sapporo in addition to my order. The clerk got the manager to look over my Toronto drivers license…. And then he proceeded to tell me that I need my passport to purchase anything alcohol related. This is insulting and absurd and clearly rude, and an egotistical nature sitting in with how busy they are. So needless to say, I was not able to purchase alcohol from the store because I had a drivers license that was not a California drivers license.. never in my life have I been denied alcohol purchase in California because of my Toronto drivers license. I can’t even believe how absurd that is. Im 47 years old turning 48 in August.

So we went next-door and we sat down on the patio and I had three ice cold Sapporo's showing my Toronto drivers license with no problem at all. This grocery really left a sour taste in my mouth.

Great selection of Persian foods, treats and teas! Ben is especially great and has a passion for cooking. He actually offered me some of his home cooking he had brought to the market that day, so wholesome! It was delish btw ^_^

Contrary to the Persian grocery store in Santa Monica, Star Market is a wonderful store, without an attitude.

I bought my Greek tarama and other Mediterranean pantry items there. They also carry a great selection of feta cheese. The store is very clean, well organized and the items in display have long expiration dates for freshness. Ample parking space is available in the back. The most importantly, the owners and their employees are very gracious and helpful. I highly recommend this lovely market.
Found a hidden Gem! 💎 This is the only closest asian grocery store in West LA. Prices are good compared to Vons or some other stores if you were to get ingredients, condiments for Asian cuisine. 🍜

I Love the cordial greeting they give you. And how they hire older people and they all look very nice and pleasant. The food and coffee are so good. It's like your grandmother cooked your meal. Very original Mexican food. I Love it
Of all the years that I lived in Los Angeles I have never been to the original farmer's market so yesterday I decided to give it a try. I was so impressed on how large and the amount of options of stores. places to eat, places to drink. WOW.
We did not even make a Dent on the places. we had coffee at 1 place, crepes at another..we sat at the bar and had numerous drinks. we also had oysters .yumm The best part is that there's a lot of area to sit and have your meals or just people watch. You also are able to walk around in the whole facility with your alcoholic beverage in hand. I mean it's really a wonderful place . all day parking is $32 .. yes you read that right....the first 2 hours are free Thereafter it is $3.50 every 15 minutes so basically we stood there from 9 to about 530 and it was $32 for parking. But who cares when you're having a good time..

Every time I visit ELA, I stop by La Canasta for breakfast or lunch. My favorite breakfast is Chilaquiles Verdes, huevos Rancheros, and for lunch chicharones en salsa Roja, 😋😋😋
Best place to go if you’re looking for some middle eastern food ingredients 👌

Hands down best Persian market in the Los Angeles region. Wonderful friendly staff and a great selection! They even offered to bring in more specific items if I wanted.

I don’t go anywhere else for fresh Sangak!
Very busy on a Sunday. Lots of new developments outside the old Farmer's Market. I haven't been there in 10 years.
Food prices astronomical. $7 for ice cream cone, $15.00 for Chinese food. I checked out my old Chinese place. The food was so awful I left it on the table. The ice cream was good though.
Good japanese grocery store
I got few items from deli department and they were good. I like that you can choose a lot of different meals. They have different sizes so instead of set of 8 California rolls you can get set of 4 and get something else like mini sandwiches or kimchi for pretty much the same price. Rolls tasted OK but the portion was good and the price was like $5 for 4 huge rolls. Let me tell you - these rolls are much better and fresher than at any american grocery store. Thumbs up
Love this place. Food is always great! The owners are family friends. They catered my wedding and I still have guests talking about how good the food was 16yrs later!! The market is a great source for jamaican products that you can't get at regular grocery stores.

This market is great for finding Japanese specialties. There are customers that walk out of this store with multiple bags. So many items appeal to me that I sorta got lost in the moment. You’ll find everything that you need for your Japanese cooking. You’ll also find snacks and noodles, which is my personal favorite. There are more than just that, and the prices on most items here are pretty affordable.

First off, if you like nice fancy places, this is not the place for you. The place is clean the people are nice, they're carnitas are some of the best I've ever had. Handmade tortillas, and the rice and beans were good.
Great place to enjoy a few hours of shopping and lunch. Place is suitable for people who want to have some time out with friends, couples, family friendly etc.

Lunch options to suit most dietary needs… I enjoyed the Japanese place… the tuna sushi role was incredible!

Facilities and accessibility for those with mobility concerns. Flat even ground.

One of the standout features of Whole Foods is its big, spacious store layout, which allows customers to easily navigate through the store and find what they need. The store's size also means that there's plenty of space to move around, even during busy periods, which can make for a more enjoyable shopping experience.

Another positive aspect of Whole Foods is its ample parking space. With a lot of parking available, customers can easily find a spot to park their vehicles without having to worry about circling around or competing for a parking space. This can save time and make for a more convenient shopping experience, especially for those who are in a hurry or have mobility issues.

Overall, Whole Foods is known for its high-quality natural and organic foods, and the store's spacious layout and ample parking only add to the convenience and appeal of shopping there.

Prices on fresh produce, especially herbs are fantastic. That bushel of mint in my hand in the picture was 50 cents! Ben was super friendly and helped me find everything I was looking for and introduced me to new recipes as well. Support your local grocery! 10/10.
This place is the absolute best!! The sushi is surprisingly phenomenal. The sashimi cuts in the back are all excellent as well and you get an incredibly diverse selection of fish and seafood as well from conch and salmon to yellowtail and mackerel. The staff is also very friendly and this location is efficient and well run. Strawberry cake is also a must. 10/10

One of the best Japanese supermarket in west Los Angeles. They have a variety of Japanese items to select from. They also have a 20% off discount event everyday at 7 (sometimes earlier) for bento boxes.
You find almost everything you need from a Persian grocery store and it's less expensive than the other ones in the neighborhood.

Such a cute little place with fresh produce. It is an Iranian market with good selection.
I specially buy my fresh herbs at this market, I feel they are more fresh and also the bunches are thicker compared to other stores, so you get more for your money.
I also like the big parking lot with ample parking spots available in the back.

The cashier is friendly and catering.

This restaurant appears to be run by some senior citizens. In other words, someone's abuelita is preparing the food. We ordered chiles rellenos, tacos dorados, and chilaquiles rojos. All three plates were delicious. Limited street parking on Whittier but there's parking in the rear. I'm glad Yelp turned me on to this place. Oh! Their handmade corn tortillas were nice and thick. Held the chile rellenos well. Thanks, fellow Yelpers!

The store doesn't take EBT currently, I was really surprised because it's a pretty big grocery store and not a small business, I haven't seen that yet and I go out shopping a lot. I was told that they're in the process of applying again and we're denied prior and that the application wasn't accepted.

Besides that inconvenience there's so much good stuff there that you don't see anywhere else from Ramen to seafood, candy even some toy's. They do have a self checkout as well, fresh produce and ice. The prices are really good on a lot of things which I really liked. There's plenty of parking and the staff is very nice and helpful. I really enjoyed my time shopping there and browsing through the aisles there. I will definitely be coming back. And looking forward for the EBT to be accepted. I understand that the application wasn't accepted the first time and that they're doing it over so people can use EBT at their stores.

It was fine. This market is pretty small, so it may disappoint you if you want to explore a wide range of Japanese items. With that saying, this market carries mainly Japanese items and lacks international items. I find the prices here a bit higher than other asian markets, probably due to higher quality products? Besides that, the market is pretty tidy and well maintained.

Clean and normal. Wonder if the dry aged Ribeyes are always priced well. Poke looked a little sketchy. They did have mandarin oranges with leaves, although not as cheap or great as the ones from Chinatown street vendors. The large free parking lot is a huge plus

This Asian grocery store is excellent for snacks. We came here to get some delicious sashimi and onigiri. The sashimi was surprisingly fresh and tasty, and the spicy tuna onigiri is so delicious and flavorful. Onigiri prices are also reasonable at just $2 each!

I would definitely come here again if I’m the area.

Ayhan kabob (housed inside this market/ separate ownership) has the best kabob and mediterranean persian farsi food. The owner is super polite and nice and cares about his food and service. it was my first time but from now on i will order from him only. almost 1/2 price of other places. big portions. fresh. great to go boxes makes it ready fast. there is tables outside so you can eat there. we ordered a combo chicken kabob that was a skewer of chicken and additional ground beef. it was big enough for 2.

its a part of super sun market. the deli part

free parking in back.
Top service we came in and was greeted right away. Ms. SARA took care of us food was off the chain, meat Patty's are bomb as hell
We were picking up drinks and snacks for our bicycle ride. I found their selection of beers and snacks lacking. There were empty shelves. It could be because of the supply chain issues we've been having. But they did have spam musubi with egg! That's awesome. I liked their selection of onigiri a lot. Those triangle shaped rice balls are delicious. I tried eating them while riding my bicycle and made a mess of it. There's this thing you have to do in order to open it properly to make the seaweed match up with the rice. It is tough to do if you are driving or riding a bike. This place reminded me of supermarkets in Japan hence the five star review. They really need to stock those 9% alcohol shochu drinks, Strong Zero.
the portion for the price is reasonable. i had the jerk chicken plate. the chicken was seasoned nicely. the beans & rice was ok. the plantains were fried perfectly. i would visit again to try another dish.

Mixed review

+ The guy restocking was nice
+ Food tastes good
+ I liked the fruit flavored drinks

- The cashier lady is always on her phone and looks annoyed that you dare disturb her with your purchase
- Got food poisoning from the potato salad. It tasted fine but was probably expired but there's no labels saying when it was made so 🤷‍♀️
- wish it had more variety for beverages and snacks
The people there are nice. However, I came for food and the food was bland. I was definitely disappointed. I ordered curry chicken, the gravy and chicken was watery and bland as were the greens. I was in the area for my lunch break, I did not realize Wii Jamin was so close I should’ve went there. I eat Jamaican food all the time and this is actually probably the worse I’ve ever had.

My weekend routine was to visite this grocery shop to buy some stuff for my house. I like how organized this grocery shop was. The deli, cheese, produce products were well-organized. The floors were so clean and neat. The whole store smells so good. The staves were very helpful, and accommodating as well.
The customer service was ok... the food was ok... not bad at all... just not as flavorful as I expected... the ambiance was ok... the restaurant was very clean. Not sure why the ratings were so high... it could be because there is not much competition in Jamaican cuisine around... so the 1 eyed man is king. My experience wasn't bad at all... just every average. I may try it again.

Very good and convenient location for halal meat. The people are very nice. I've gotten other good ingredients here also. Their produce can be hit-or-miss, but I have bought a bunch of things here that were very good. Falafel Chee, the wonderful Falafel restaurant that was in front, is no longer here. But I still stop here quite often to buy all my Halal meats, and occasionally produce items. Their prices are very reasonable and the quality is excellent. Way better than organic at about half the price, and with all the advantages of organic.

I've discovered that most of the restaurants I like use halal chicken. It's of utmost importance for me to not have antibiotics in my food, and halal meats do not. All the meats here are halal. If you are Persian you'll like this place. I found stuff here I wouldn't imagine possible outside of Iran. From variety of dried or preserved food to seasonal fruits and even special cookware. There's also a deli which sells decent Persian food and side dishes.
Boy did I enjoy my self. The food was amazing and fresh and the spices were perfect. Everything was tasty nothing out of place. Word of advice make sure you know your order and call in advance so your in and out. Parking can be pretty tough.
