I love this place. I love the staff. I love the food. This is the most chill place you can find. Hidden away and unlike any other place in Gainesville. 10/10 would recommend.

I got their brisket sandwich with potato salad. The sandwich was awesome but the potato salad...I think it could've been better, but that's just my taste

The food is always good and reasonably priced. Service was excellent and quick. Well worth the price. Recommend getting the non-lean brisket if you like brisket.

Super friendly staff and fast, efficient service. They take the time to ask specifically how you want your sandwich and then show you after it’s done to be sure. VERY veteran/first responder friendly as well. Pulled chicken was very good. Brisket sandwich was great!

First let me say I love the ambiance of this restaurant, and service is TOP NOTCH. I don't know if we went at an "off" time, but at 7pm on a Saturday the meat was super dry, which caught me off guard. Even the cornbread was a little dry.
The coleslaw was great, and my husband loved the green beans. We will have to visit again to see if we get better luck with the meat.

This is likely some of the better bbq you can get, fast food wise. The various sauces on the tables gave us a chance to try each one and find which worked with what meat.

3meat comco is well priced and def worth using to try all the food past ribs that you want. The brisket was done really well, the chicken still juicy, and the classic sausage was very tasty. Def go back again

The staff needs to work on acknowledging the pick-up order customers when we arrive to pick up our orders or place a shelf where we can grab our own orders. There are too many times where I and other pickup customers have been INTENTIONALLY ignored by staff while they consistently prioritize the customers in line. I should NOT have to wait until the line dies down to finally get addressed for a mobile order that is supposed to defeat the purpose of me waiting in a long line! Please address this with staff & make the necessary improvements!

This location has gone down hill. Last Wednesday I placed an order on the app for pick up at around 11:15 AM. I got a notification at 11 AM that the food was ready. This is not why I’m giving a 1 star review. When I picked up the order I noticed that a couple of drinks were missing. I pointed this out with the emailed receipt that I had but was called a liar numerous times because they pointed out that the paper receipt didn’t show the two drinks. It shouldn’t matter what your system shows on the paper receipt, if my emailed receipt shows that there are drinks missing then I want the drinks that I paid for. I might not come back here again unless they do a complete overhaul and retrain staff on customer service because calling the customer a liar even after they show proof that they’re not lying is a big no no.

I have been coming to this establishment a long time. It’s open late it isn’t noisy. Nice chill environment. Everytime I have done a long drive and I need to unwind I will come to the midnight underground. Anytime I have friends come from out of town I tell them about this establishment or I will bring them there myself. The thing I love about this establishment is how relaxed and open everyone is… mostly. I have now had two experiences that have now been very poor with this establishment. One one occasion I was walking with my family who was visiting from out of town and we had dinner reservations near by. My sister desperately needed to use the restroom. Normally I don’t pop into an establishment just to use the bathroom but today was an exception my sister didn’t know the area but I assured per. ” I go to this place all of the time the people are really nice and honestly after dinner we should grab some beers here.” We stepped in the front door and there was a staff member standing there with her arms folded and shouted “here to BUY anything” I attempted to explain the situation and the woman huffed really loudly and said “fine go ahead” while my sister was using the restroom she preceded to get angry and complain that people always come in there to use the bathroom and never buy anything. I attempted to explain to her that I come there a lot and absolutely love the place but she scoffed at me. I then attempted to explain that people probably liked coming here to use the bathroom because they know it is a safe and relaxed environment and that is the sole reason I go there myself. Because they stand out as chill and welcoming whereas other businesses aren’t. She essentially said don’t come back ever again unless I’m going to buy something. My sister came back from the restroom and said she felt uncomfortable and that she didn’t want to return to that establishment and that she felt extremely embarrassed. I agreed and I did not bring her back there. This again happened with a friend of mine who we were going to grab a beer while we were walking in. I was parking the car and my friend had to use the restroom badly he ran inside (his first time there) and by the time I’m walking to the door he said he wanted to go some place else. Apparently while he was trying to explain that he was going to purchase something after he used the bathroom first apparently a woman fitting the description of the previous woman Rudely cut him off before he could explain fully and demanded he buy something first. Needless to say I’ve been going to boca down the street instead even tho it is loud and kind of unpleasant. Which is unfortunate I have had so many amazing times there watching movies. Playing games and just having a real nice time. I’m definitely going to return here eventually but I need to wait until the sting has kinda worn off. Anyway other than those two examples this place is my favorite place in all of Gainesville it would have an almost perfect score otherwise.

We went here after visiting an art gallery and loved the atmosphere. The owner was there and really kind, the food was tasty too! Being and to sit and visit with friends while we eat and have a drink was great, being able to play board games made it even better - and it's in a good location. Definitely give this spot a try! Where we parked was paid parking but it was a reasonable price!

It was after ten and we wanted something fun to do and something to eat. The Midnight Underground was the perfect choice! There were many games to choose from for a chill night out. We ended up distracted by the food that was better than we were expecting! The chili was so good that we all had it in some form! The chili cheese dog, and the nachos were the group favorite

How is that they run out of food and it will take 45 mins before it will be filled? Food is always good and service is good also.

First time trying Lebanese food. Hubby and I were wanting mediterranean. After reading the reviews we wanted to try for ourselves. We loved it so much this will be a regular place to eat for us. Can’t wait to try what else is on the menu. I ordered the lamb chops. I made sure not to eat all so I could have left over the next day. Place is located so close to ours we don’t have to travel far. We went when the bell dancers were there. Fun atmosphere for sure but the music was a bit loud for us so we’ll go when it’s quieter. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Ordered a sandwich brisket not bad could have more flavor to the meat, meat was not warm just cold and fries as well, awesome sauce choices. Just food needs more flavor and be warm at least.

I came here for late lunch a mini day date with my husband... loved it! The food was oh so mega packed with taste and so many layers of flavors ... nothing was overpowering, just the right hint of spices. My lamb shanks were oh so mightily tender and boosting with flavor! I definitely recommend it, I am very very satisfied with the experience and pricing. Will definitely come back!

I love Panda Express… I was really hungry and excited to eat my chow mien and Orange chicken. My food got here and after opening it I was so disappointed…. I asked for chow mein and these delusional broke workers gave me onions instead… Portions of the food is terrible. Idk if these guys are blind or what but whatever they’re smoking ima need some. Tf am I gonna do with onions man look at the picture below smh. Smh give the right amount of food @@sholes it’s not like ur paying for it. And next time I find out my food is messed up I’m going around the corner and serving my self.

A beautiful place walking in. We wanted to try something new. Water was brought to us, we were asked if we wanted wine. My boyfriend & I don't drink, we declined and wasn't offered anything else. So I'm guessing it is what it is there ... Thank you for the great food and experience 🙏
Not sure what the puffy little breads that were brought to us were called? But they brought a lot of joy having the pleasure to taste them. Yum! 🤗

Always great food. Usually get takeout as they don't have a liquor license and dining in is not fancy. Again the food is great and the staff are helpful. Love their superdish.

My wife and kid asked for beef broccoli, the amount of broccoli vs the amount of beef was noticeably, there was hardly any beef on both served portions. When I asked the manager to take a look at how we got the servings she said that we had gotten a lot of beef!!!! Compared to the standard that they’re supposed to serve. See the picture and judge for your self, definitely not coming back.

Absolutely delicious. The food is made fresh right in front of you. Definitely try!! They are so friendly. We would certainly return.

First time dining here and did not disappoint. My fave was the Lamb Chops, so tender and tasty. Fattoush was excellent, not too sour like the other places. Bread was soft and perfectly made. Clean restaurant.

We have tried other kabob restaurants in several states and never found a place as good as Afghan Famous Kabob. The kabobs are almost always perfectly cooked and not tough or chewy or dry the way some places are. Both the white and brown rice are very tasty and the side salad is nice and fresh. The chickpeas are absolutely amazing, by far the best we've ever had. I wish I had their chickpea recipe! We have loved this restaurant for almost 20 years and the food has been consistently good every time.

What a top grade Lebanese restaurant! Must try!

I feel lucky to have found this place. It's only my first time here but will definitely be back and with more people.

Music is nice and calm, atmosphere is very organized

The pita chips and yogurt were complementary and a perfect crunch to start the appetite.

Following with the savory cheesy stuffed pastry bites and the delicious seasoned rice wrapped in grape leaves.

Next came the kofta sandwich and rice. Perfect combination. Rice has fresh nuts ontop and mixed with the yogurt from before, becomes devoured. The sandwich is also amazing, zesty pickles and delicately seasoned beef all grilled in a toasty wrap.

Extremely friendly staff and awesome food. We will be going back! I unfortunately didn’t get the name of the gentleman who checked in on us but he was a pleasure to speak with and made sure we had a great experience.

Wonderful, the blend of spices and flavors gave us a warm, contented feeling. A true hidden gem. Been twice and will definitely come back. Everything so fresh and flavorful!! Can't wait to try new dishes.

What if you combine good quality food with an awesome environment, well decorated, and local supportive law enforcement and military as well as sports... great caring associates, making sure that you are well taken care of? Food, drinks, and condiments are super good. This is my choice of quick quality food. Never had 1 bad day going there, and I will continue going to them every time that I see one around me.

Been going to this place for over a decade now, and it has consistently delivered excellent food at reasonable prices. I've tried countless times to replicate some of these dishes at home, especially the naan, but nothing beats the real thing. All of the kabobs are outstanding, but don't sleep on the rice and chickpeas. Nothing beats scooping up a bit of each with a tear of naan and dousing it in the chutney, which is spicier than you think and provides exactly the kick you want. I no longer live in NoVa, but Afghan Famous is the first place I go anytime I'm back.

Horrible first time experience, noodles looked like uncooked ramen noodles. Food had no flavor. Threw it away, never know til you try though, and biggest thing was employees on cellphones then handling food and no gloves

Expertly prepared authentic Lebanese cuisine in a family run restaurant. Wait staff are friendly and the atmosphere is comfortably rustic-modern. Attentive but unobtrusive service - we were checked on and had our water topped up at least three times during the course of our meal. The food is fabulous! We had the halloumi appetizer plus the chicken, lamb and beef. Mouthwatering seasoning and perfectly cooked meat. They also offer take out and can accommodate large groups with advance reservation.

Guy serving the food had no gloves on and was rubbing his nose and touching his face all over without washing them though it seemed like his coworkers all had gloves on

WOW! If you are in the mood for authentic Afghani food, this is THE PLACE to get it. It may be well worth taking a trip to this delightful restaurant just to experience the delights of the amazing food this family cooks. Every dish we tried was exceptionally delicious. The Naan (bread) was the best I have ever had. Portions are generous and the lamb Chops were absolutely perfect. The service was friendly and courteous. I have to go back and try more dishes at this delightful restaurant.

Ordered to-go Chicken and lamb kabobs for lunch. The portion was good and delicious. Everything from chicken, lamb to rice and salad were delicious. Naan bread was out of this world. Yes, that green sauce, I need that green sauce at home.😄 Most definitely will eat here again.

Holy this food was really really good! I ordered pumpkin spinach dish and I was blown away by how tasty it was. Who would of knew pumpkin could be so good. I ordered a 2nd one to go 🤣

Very stingy with the food and the food is very very dry. Need to add more sauce or something. They are probably still struggling from opening up and that is why they are very stingy with the food and with the sauce. Nevertheless, we are still paying money. Wait time is ridiculously long due to them not having enough staff members with poor quality and service.

Got the Deluxe Kabob and the plate was full. The Gyro was just as delicious and all the bread is made in house. Owners are really nice. The online order was down but their customer service over the phone was great. If you like spicy ask for extra spicy sauce - it's refreshing and a good kick at the same time.

Nice bar to hang up with friends. Friendly staff and people in general. International nights are great to meet new people. They have cheap beer as well as not-so-cheap ones. I would suggest to play more music inside.

Very friendly atmosphere. The place is very good for making new friends, and the beer is cheap so the place is very good! They have a night for Internationals, every Thursday, it's a good opportunity to practice new languages!
