Couldn’t fault the food here. We had the most delicious meal. We ordered the skewers, the tomato salad, the egg plant and the chicken wings and every bite was to die for. Prices were very reasonable. Service was excellent. I wish I could go back and eat there again. One of the best we’ve had in Albania.

We came here to have dinner and we're incredible happy with the amazingly delicious food and. We ordered Greek salad, tomato salad, vienez, skewers, eggplant casserole and some other things. They brought us cherries and figs as a gift. They were very nice to us. We recommend this place over others that we visited in berat

We found this lovely restaurant at lunchtime when we came down the mountain from Berat Castle. The staff here are really friendly and helpful and the food was a delight! Our waiter recommended the Vienez Vici Me Arra (a local dish of meat stuffed with cheese with walnuts) and I'm so glad he did. Meat-eaters, this dish is amazing! The Djath Furre (baked local cheese with tomatoes and onions) was also delicious!
Highly-recommended to visit this restaurant, if you also look for traditional Albanian food! My husband and I ordered different stew dishes: imam ballajdi, chicken breast fërgesë (meat stew with green&red paprika), and tave dehu (beef liver stew), all of them are very tasty! This dinner ends with traditional Albanian dessert - trileçe (three milk), my favorite dessert in Albania! I even ordered a takeaway for another dessert - tiramisu. Love its great atmosphere in the dining area internally (well-decorated and high taste vintages) and externally too (outdoor dining area with roof, great combinations of greens and metal vintages). Both dining areas have TVs able to watch sports. Plus the super nice service. The waiter is amiable and very friendly with cute smiles, he is able to communicate with OK English and use simple descriptions to introduce the menu. We really enjoyed a lot at this restaurant, and will definitely come back again if we stop by Berat next time. Thank you Zgara Zaloshnja!
The manager is very rude and the fod is not how i liked it. Very bad atmosfere and the manager pushed me.Wen i came here i was sotired and sad but now i feel worse
Really nice food, we had meatballs, chicken with mushrooms and the best spring rolls in albania. They have a lot of different type with and without meat, traditional food as well. Very friendly and they have terrace side as well inside. The restaurant is designed like an old fashion, inside you find lots of old things like radio tv and traditional clothes, super cool makes the place look so unique

All of the features of a tourist-aimed restaurant - average food, high prices, awful music, flippant service - without the convenience of accepting payment by card. The interior is beautifully put together though. The chicken fillet with mustard was dry probably because it was old, therefore overcooked on purpose. Comes with just some dank chips, not any salad or veg, for 700 lek.
Te gjyshi is located just across from Albania Place. Very modern and spacious restaurant and bar. The service was excellent and so was the food. Definitely higher end but well worth it.

I‘m sorry to say that food was not good at all. We had some super greasy okras, bland white beans and a super moist byrek with no crunch at all. At least the owner was friendly.
The food at Temi’s was delicious and authentic. Probably the best meal we have had in Albania, so good that we had to order the meatballs (Qofte) twice.
Service and atmosphere was incredible and it felt like being invited into the home of an Albanian family. If you’re in Berat, definitely recommend stopping by and trying their amazing food.

AMAZING food, service and atmosphere. We had Moussaka, chicken and rice and fruit salad and all was super tasty. The waitress even brought out burning coffee to keep the wasps away from us! Amazing.
We only stayed one night in Berat and had dinner here. A table outside and everything was perfect. The food we had delicious (Qufte, stuffed Pepper @ baked Lamb in yogurt)

Best place to eat in Albania. We were amazed at the view from the terrace and at the cleanliness of the toilets. Highly recommend!

This was the most unique dining experience we have ever had! Located in the most scenic part of Berat, Lili and his wife's restaurant is not to be missed.

Absolutely delicious traditional Albanian home made food. We choose the whole menu, which was quite a lot for the 3 of us. A really intimate dining experience, where you can chat with others. Lili is the host with the most, he remembered our names throughout the night and engaged in many conversations. He’s very entertaining and genuinely a lovely chap! I highly recommended booking, as this is a very small establishment. Lots of walk ins arrived and were sadly turned away.
The staff were great! The mix plate came a bit cold and the chicken was a bit dry. But not too bad. Great location though
One of the best meals we have had on our journey through Albania. Wonderful place with authentic old school Albanian decor. Food arrived quickly, which hasn't been the norm for us in Albania. We recommend the stuffed peppers, and the stuffed mushrooms were excellent. Nice big salads too. The moussaka is very tasty but heavy - so save some room! Has air conditioning.
I loved the place! The food was amazing, the waiters were super friendly and kind. It was quite crowded when I got there and some guests got impatient because service took a while in the beginning. But the restaurant quickly reacted and two more waiters came to work and afterwards everything went very smoothly. I was very satisfied and I wish I could have tried more different dishes :)

I spent 10 days in Albania and I did not eat something so delicious as I ate in this restaurant. You can feel the love and dedication they put into every dish in every bite.Even better than the food is the service. The kindness of the family managing this beautiful restaurant makes you feel at home.

Thank you so much Lili for the incredible experience. I recommend to make a reservation on time to avoid disappointment. Even our phone call was very fun and Lili really made me laugh. The food and ambiance was the best Albanian experience we’ve had at our entire vacation (2,5weeks). You get unlimited water, free homemade cake and raki (his father made!). He only has 6 tables and explains the menu to everyone at once, which made it feel really cozy.
Amazing traditional Albanian food! We arrived late in the city, we called the restaurant and they kept the kitchen open for us. The owner welcomed us warmly and suggested a mixed plate and luckily we followed his advice. We were surprised with two heaping plates filled with delicious traditional cuisine. The restaurant offers both great vegetarian and meat dishes. The eggplant, the rice, the beans and the feta pepper salad were outstanding. After dinner we got a plate of watermelon. An amazing authentic experience!

Really tasty traditional food, everything we ordered was delicious. Good price. The view is beautiful and the ambient is really interesting and well decorated as the old Berat traditonal houses. Staff was friendly, however service could be improved.

This place is as much about the experience as it is about the food. You are seated in the backyard of Lili and his wife’s home. Lili explains menu and his wife cooks. Quirky tables and chairs and rock shelf’s for your wine and water are strategically placed for the 14 or so guests lucky enough to get a table. The food is traditional and highlights were the eggplant and lamb/yoghurt bake and pork fillet stuffed with cheese. I think Lili is the happiest man alive..his energy is infectious & he finishes the night sharing a raki with you. Book to secure a table 3 days out or risk missing this experience.

Very budget friendly restaurant located inside Berat Castle serving traditional Albanian food. The vegetable soup was nice and hot but overall it was quite bland which was disappointing. I was really looking forward to the stuffed peppers but again they lacked seasoning and weren't the best that I had in Albania. Not a bad place to stop if you're already at the castle but don't walk up the hill specifically to eat here.
Great atmosphere and Albanian food. You also have nice views of the city. Good variety of local vegetarian dishes, the stuffed peppers, and baked veggies were especially good. Baklava with ice cream was also tasty.

Cheaters. Give this place a wide berth. Unfortunately, the owner tried to cheat us. bill 1900 lek I paid by card. the owner told me to approach the card, but did not show the amount on the terminal. After my request twice, I was able to look at the display, and there was an amount of 19,000 Lek, which is 10 times too much. I showed him that it was the wrong amount - he sent the boy who was helping him with this payment terminal inside to correct it. when he wanted me to give him a payment card in his hand that he would approach it correctly - I did not agree. when I looked at the display there was again the amount of 19000 to be paid, and the owner insisted that I already approached the card or gave it to him. the boy went inside the restaurant with the terminal again. only after the 3rd or 4th attempt at the terminal did they enter the correct amount of 1900 and they still had some grudge against me in Albanian instead of apologizing. the owner of the neighboring bar just smiled looking at these situations ...

Best meal I had in my trip to Albania. Rickety tables, a family home full of ancestry and wishes, great local dishes cooked very well. I had the baked eggplant, byrek (burek) with zucchini, and their honey cake (a bonus for the table), plus lots of red wine and raki. The owner is hilarious and friendly, speaks multiple languages, and tries to get to know people's names and keep everyone happy. This is fine dining in a different sense. Don't think of white tablecloths and aperitifs. Think of honest hospitality and making do with the things you have. At any moment if you leaned forward too far, you could break the table or chair you're sitting on, so Lili has had to make do with 'tables' or recessions in the wall that are flat, where you can keep bottles of wine or water that won't spill. It is worth the wait. Prices are quite reasonable. Everything is cooked to order by Lili's wife, who comes out at the end to rousing applause. You get a real peek into Albanian culture and family life here. Highly recommended!

Ok so the view was mesmerising as we were sitting right at the top of the restaurant which was drinking only. Not sure about the food as we only had few drinks. The 3 star is because waiter took as to the top we asked to see a menu and the reply was we don't have one so had to ask what drinks they do then asked if they had a WiFi and the reply was a no. If it wasn't for that 2 simple things it would be 5 star review.

The food is nice, and the owner is very attentive. He let me stay while I was waiting for the rain to stop. The raki here is very smooth. I enjoyed dancing Albanian dance with other customers.

Good choice if you're going to have dinner on an open terrace above the city. Great view of old Berat! In general it looks like a super expensive restaurant. But in reality you get fair price, good traditional food and friendly service. And my boyfriend highly appreciated that raki made with nuts 🍷😄
THEY ACCEPT CASH ONLY - which is so weird as this is a good level restaurant. Bad news for travelers who don't carry any cash. Very inconvenient.

Great experience at Temi, as always. It feels like you’re in someone’s home eating their homemade cooking. Everyone is so kind, the food is delicious, and the prices are pretty good for the location. It’s not everyday you get to eat homemade food INSIDE A CASTLE!

Great and friendly staff but to be honest we didn't like that food so much. Maybe it's homemade but it's not freshly cooked. It's precooked and then heated because it didn't take that much time until we get served. The lamb portion was not that much and the potatoes were pretty hard like they were not ready to serve.

Not bad after looking for a restaurant for ages walking down the castle. The waiters don’t speak much English but they were super nice setting out a table on the balcony so we could enjoy the view and the weather. The lamb was delicious, juicy and fatty! The salad was refreshing as well :) the skewers were slightly over cooked for me but otherwise it was a great lunch!

This is the first time I write a review because this place deserves it so much. I‘ve literally just gotten back from a lovely dinner there on my own. It‘s a small restaurant run by (I think) a family. The girls waitressing are the absolute sweetest and spread such warmth. They spoke English super well which was helpful. The stuffed aubergines I had were a dream. The restaurant is located in a small valley leading to the castle and my absolute highlight so far. When you go in you basically enter the kitchen where you can see with how much love this place is run. Thank you for such a lovely evening!

Wow! Super friendly and one of the best food we had during two weeks in Albania. Amazing!
Personally, I think the restaurant has overly high reviews. We ended up here in the middle of the week for a meal during our stay in town. Of the menu, the vast majority of items were not available. Ordered dishes without delight, we had the opportunity to try tastier. However, being in the area I would choose another place.
We became victims of Albanian hospitality. After the dinner the owner came around and served us with fresh grapes from their home garden. Really tasty and sweet! Also try the Raki if you are there.
