Genuinely one of the best bars I have been to in all of melbourne. I have been a resident for over 10 years and I can say Bar Stock Shuffle is easily one of the most welcoming and friendly venues I have visited. I will give a personal shout out to Max the bartender who not only, gave me and my friend excellent service, but advertised deals the venue offered throughout the week. I will definitely be frequenting this venue in future and I would recommend others to visit.
The most amazing experience I’ve ever had in a small business bar! This is by far my first choice for a good night out in Fitzroy! If you haven’t visited the Bar Stock Shuffle, you’re missing out on one of the best and most fun nights ever! Karaoke with the owners, shots, cocktails and the most delicious selections of foods - head down to this bar for the best night ever with the best company and most loving service ❤️
So much fun!! Such a good atmosphere and friendly staff. Came here for St Patrick’s day and had a great time. Happy hour was great value, would definitely recommend for a good time!
Incredible drinks, particularly during the long happy hour, where the drinks are top quality, but graciously priced! Atmosphere is great and the staff are very welcoming, even asking if we have any music requests! Would recommend.

Great experience, great happy hour deals from 4-8 pm, amazing staff and service. Absolutely recommended. Negroni is recommended if you prefer strong drinks.
Hit up the Trivia Tuesday/burger night. Didn't end up with the burger but the calamari was good, fritters had good taste but looked unappetizing, can't order a kids meal as not a kid unfortunately which I believe is a absolute killer pub move so marked down for that.

Called in for a drink and a meal. Old styled pub wonderfully decorated in a local style with a strong footy flavour. Had a Rueben and a few beers both very nice hitting the spot! Call in if nearby.
There's not many venues left where local bands can learn their chops. The Workers Club is such a place. The band room is a throw back to the good old days of pub rock and it was awesome to get in there and bounce around to some cool indie rock.
We recently had my daughter's Birthday here and whilst I've always loved the Worker's Club, having a function here is even better! The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and the room was lovely and private too. Highly recommend!

I attended a hens party here. We paid a small fortune for *bottomless* drinks and a meal... there was ONE PERSON serving 45 people... single drinks were coming out incredibly slowly, I had been there for over 30 minutes before I got my first drink, there was a huge long table to accommodate all the women, when we sat for food... 3 small jugs were brought out with very long intervals and put at either end of the table and 1 in the middle, each jug poured about 5 drinks so only catering for 15 /40 something people at a time. My meal actually never came out despite asking and then giving up. All up I had 4 drinks and a few bits of the entrees... for $115... 👎 also, with the Neal's... THE BRIDE AND HER BRIDAL PARTY AND MOTHER WERE HELPING DELIVER THE MEALS.... so disappointing and huge waste of money. The actual activities and decor the hens party had organized look amazing and were fun but anything from the provincial hotel was underwhelming to say the least

This is an authentic, old beauty of a pub. It's decorated with plenty of very charming, witty memorabilia, including Fitzroy footy club photos. Staff obviously enjoy working here, maybe it's the positive vibe this pub gives off, it's in the bones of this building.
Perfect venue for my 70th!
We had a lovely night in the Atrium Room for my birhtday dinner in November for family and friends. The food and was spectacular (guests raved about the lamb and fish), excellent wine and extra special care was taken of a guest with complex dietary needs. The vegetarians were very well looked after too. Nothing was too much trouble. Perfect service and we appreciated that left overs were boxed up to take home. Thank you Ella and team for a lovely celebration. Very highly recommend.

My favourite pub in Melbourne. I come here almost on a weekly basis. I can’t get enough of their Whipped Cod dip. It’s the best. They also do delicious cocktails. Every time I visit, it’s always a good atmosphere, everyone seems to love it and it’s always packed with people. Another thing I love is that they change their menu every so often so you’ll never get sick of the food

I ordered the crispy pork belly from the special board and the dark beer they had on tap. The guy poured the pint, it had no head and looked flat. I took a sip and asked "is this beer meant to be flat like water"? A guy with a nose ring tested a different tap and said the machine is fine which I asked then why does my beer have the look & texture of black water? He offered to to pour another which I accepted. It came out perfect with a frothy head and I said that's more like it. He just stood there with a blank face no response. When the crispy pork belly came it was delicious but only 3 bite size pieces with some salad. Left hungry annoyed and not coming here again.

Great experience here. The kangaroo steak was good, a little dry, but apparently it’s a lean gamey meat. The duck was fantastic. Enjoyed our dinner here. A little pricey, but if you want to try some kangaroo, there are not that many options.

Very busy bar with a very great atmosphere. Can be very busy at times which makes it much more convenient to try and get there a bit earlier to ensure a table for a group. Drinks are relatively cheap for the area and the venue itself is quite large with a few different sections of seating available including three smoking areas!
Outdoor seating galore, consistently good service, heaps of dogs, pool table, 8 beers on tap! What more could you want from a locals pub! And their Bloody Mary’s on Sundays yes please!!
We went there to witness an amazing live singing performance. The staff is wonderful what they do, they are friendly, hard working, and very accomodating. The place has great room for performances with colourful lights. It has a bar outside the room and inside, too!

Bar Stock Shuffle is a great bar with an awesome atmosphere! Came here to celebrate sisters 18th birthday and the staff made the night amazing and special for her first night out! Fantastic munchies which tasted delicious! Excellent service and karaoke, with song requests available! We had a great night!

We asked the waiter about the missing item in the dish and he didn’t even know what the item was, so he asked the kitchen for more clarification and he came out 5 minutes later with a ramekin with four slices of morels, cold straight from the fridge and handed it to us with not even a sorry.
The chicken was dry as anything and the sauce was hardly there, and tasteless.
Chips were very under seasoned.
Entrées were nice though.

On September 24, 2023 (Sunday), we went to the bar for a quick drink after seeing the region, which is well-liked by Australians.

Very adorable local pubs:) my fav place especially on steak night!! Friendly staff and nice food. We had chicken parmi and steak on different date and both are super great and reasonable price.
My partner and I could try different tap beer whenever we visit. We love here cuz it is not too busy like other restaurants and pubs in Fitzroy(Brunswick st is always crazy:() and so warm and comfy environment.

The best roast I've had in a while! Great menu and lovely atmosphere in the beer garden, live music on a Sunday afternoon too. Dog friendly beer garden, good value for money too.
Classic Fitzroy pub! The staff are friendly, the food is sensational, great selection of beers and a great atmosphere, been here many times and it never disappoints!
Exceptional wait staff who made fantastic recommendations for amount of food to order, and wine pairings for each dish. The steak was the main highlight of the night but everything we tried was near perfection. It was out first time dining and we will definitely be returning soon. The only thing I could think to critique is we were seated on a small round table, as a party of three, and with the amount we ordered, it struggled to fit comfortably.
Gluten free cheeseburger where the bun is nice. Good side of chips with a bit of pepper for that kick. The serving size for price was a little steep. 1 cheeseburger gluten free bun and 1 small James squire cost $41. The view is amazing and atmosphere is very relaxed with diligence staff that were friendly. Great place for a romantic date or catch up with friends.

For those who want to go to a pub but want something fancier. Good food but a bit pricey. The staff were very friendly and gave excellent service. The decor was so on point and the entire environment was nice and tidy.
It was happy hour and I was extremely happy. The choices of beer were a good mixture of popular craft beer, ciders, and some more eclectic choices. And who can go past $8 a pint for happy hours. It was a mixture of traditional and modern in its setting. The tables looking out onto the street were a great idea, thanks. Next time I visit I will certainly try the food. Thank you for a great weekday afternoon.
The food was well presented and very flavoursome. The atmosphere very friendly with many small grouos enjoying a sunny Sunday out. An added bonus wzs being able to bring our family dog along for lunch.
Trendy popular inner city pub. Despite being packed srrvice was fast and at least courteous, friendly when time permitted. We tried a lot of the menu with no complaints. Finger food was excellent, pizzas were standard but tasty, mains were excellent. Beers cold, plenty of TVs to watch sport and really great crowd.

One of my favourite pubs on the city. Service and food is impeccable. We were back here last Sunday with friend and family in from out of town and the roast was absolutely exceptional. Classic, simple and perfectly executed. Our waiter on the day was also a class act who clearly loves his job. We stick around after lunch to enjoy the vibe, share story’s and watch some footy in the front bar.

We dine here and pop in for drinks a few times a year. We’ve never had a bad meal. In fact, the food is always excellent. The regular menu items of the schnitzel with egg is a favourite.
Been here twice in the last month, fantastic food and fitout. Disco tunes slap too, not too loud but a good vibe. Happy hour runs through the weekend!
Had an overdue catchup with work mates here. Tried their Bogan Burger. Steak potatoe cake Beer root chicken schnitz!! W/ massive chunks of potatoe wedges! n just to balance it out some salad with a tangy French dressing. Loved it. Had prepped for the meal but I still experienced the sweats!! n just as I thought I had finished realised the schnitz dropped to bottom!! 😅

Love the funky interior here and the food has always been great. It’s a perfect fit for Gertrude st. I’ve booked space for my birthday here in the past and the staff have been very accommodating. I’ve also dropped in a bunch of times for drinks with friends or dates, and always have a good time.

Excellent Wednesday steak night - really good value for $25. You get a lovely steak with red wine jus, chips, salad and a glass of wine (or pot of beer). This was our second time here for steak and was not disappointed! The service was also prompt and friendly. Highly recommend !! Thanks guys!!

We came for dinner during a fairly busy time. We didn't have a booking but we were able to get a drink and wait at the bar. It wasn't even 15 minutes before we were seated. The staff were great. So efficient and professional.

Amazing downstairs. Did not spend much time there but the overall aesthetic and vibes were really cool. Went straight to the rooftop which was still great. Loved the heater.

Although I didn't shoot a wedding there, I did manage to capture some fantastic photos of the soon to be married (within the next few hours lol) during my visit, and I have to say, this pub is a photographer's dream, really.

I come here a lot, as well as the groups other venues which are all well run and great quality.
The fish and chips yesterday were good, but way too overpriced at $39 for a piece of fish and some chips. Felt pretty ripped off.
Otherwise the pub i good and sitting out the front is always a nice afternoon.

really lovely time at builders time! great atmosphere and super attentive and friendly staff despite being so so busy on trivia night! had a lovely time at trivia, was really really organised well by the place, with staff answering all q's/food arriving promptly/instructions thorough etc. food was really yummy! pricey for the pub-style quality but you're paying for the atmosphere and location which is worth it! everything was tasty, anchovy toast is a must and very good for $6! first bowl of fries were cold but second piping hot!! love the order at the table system - makes everything so easy for yourself and when splitting bills. trivia did drag on a little long, from 7pm till about 9:15, would've liked it to be a bit more fast paced and exciting, and maybe with some mini prizes throughout. but otherwise, lovely, friendly, and fun night at builders arms!! oh p.s thankyou for being so accomodating wen wanting to ad 1+ pp to our table despite it being fully booked!
I love pies and the pastry on the steak and bacon pie was just the best . Potato mash was amazing. Thank you. Great friendly staff. Great mid-week pub 😎
Been coming for years and still consistently good. One of the few places open on a public holiday still serving up great steak nights with fabulous service
Pretty awesome pub and even better food. We had the roast pork and three veg and also the steak sandwich and fries. Scotch Fillet for the steak sandwich which is how it is suppose to be! Icy cold beers on tap and quick service with the food. Great pub vibes. Definitely will come again.
Had a 1pm lunch on a Wednesday, was quiet but service fantastic and the meals were perfect in the surprisingly huge sunlit beer garden. Great little front bar area where locals start to filter in around 3, friendly staff. Will definitely be going back.

Outstanding. Hosted my 30 something birthday here, in the lead-up I found the communication really easy and responsive, which put my mind at ease that it was all in hand. I opted for canapes for a room of 25/30 people. The food was really great, the cocktails were first class, and the service was really lovely. The team were really attentive, engaging, and nothing was a problem. They also just seem like a nice bunch of people.

Second visit on a Friday for lunch at this classic pub. Old school fit out and alot of character. Staff great and keep very busy. Reasonably busy on Friday lunch, but meal came out in without aong wait time. Had the Chicken parma. Good size and reasonably tasty. Good size of crisp chips and salad on side. I had the Southern fried chicken burger last time. That was my fav and would have that one again. Highly recommended this little corner hotel for anyone on the area.

3.5 ⭐️ the service is fast and very friendly. Kiddo got eye fillet which they smashed before I got to take photos. It comes with a choice of two sides for $45, not too bad, the steak seemed quite tender when I cut through it. The chips are the thick cut ones which they didn’t really appreciate. They rather have the thin fries that comes with my burger.
I really liked my burger, it’s not very greasy but I would prefer the thick cut fries instead (so kiddo and I swapped)
Hubby had the barramundi which he liked, but I found it too buttery and a little bit overcooked.

Big old traditional pub. Some open fires and places to sit that are cosy and you can talk. Or you can sit where the music is and the poll table. Terrific staff who mix great drinks and cocktails. Awesome food
This is a serious good place for friends. The environment is lively and lovely. The bathroom is clean.
The staff are quite friendly and care free.
We had beef burgers and beers in the courtyard.
FYI, you'll get a discount for burgers on Mondays. The range is not wide but the taste blows your mind.

There are many great gastro pubs in Melbourne and then there is the Napier. The absolute benchmark for food served in a great pub. Their standard menu has great burgers and parmas, then the extensive specials board really shows how talented the kitchen staff are. Super friendly staff at the front, make the experience welcoming everytime. If you appreciate impressive food in a relaxed environment, the Napier is a must go.

Absolutely one of the best pubs in Melbourne. Been visiting for years and a regular go to, there's a reason why. Always on point with food and vibe you're guaranteed to have a great time. If you're in the area, or not, definitely check it out. 🤣💯😎💥
Brothers Adam and Jason, with their excellent staff, have this place humming to perfection.
Plenty of beers for the most discerning types and food is outstanding, watching the footy on the big screen in the beer garden or playing some pool.
Love the fact that it's Off The Beaten Track only a street or two back and it looks like not much is going on from the outside and you go inside, and you are wowed with the most relaxed bar in Melbourne.
Live music and fantastic artist regularly perform here.
