29 years ago this was a hotel on the ocean, but hurricane Sandy took it out...all but the stone chimney which still stands surrounded by a beach bar/restaurant. We stayed in the hotel on our wedding night 29 years ago and went for our lunch on our anniversary this year. Great drinks, great service, BEST view. I wasn't thrilled with the lobster salad...it was the consistency of tuna and I was expecting something different, so I switched with hubby and loved his crispy fish sandwich. They brought us drunken gummies when they heard it was our anniversary 🥰 Ended with an October walk on the beach...perfect day!

29 years ago my wife and I honeymooned at The Andrea. October 1st this year we returned to the shoreline to rekindle, by the fireplace that has remained, our marriage and those fond memories of yesteryear. The beautiful ocean, delicious food and thoughtful service made the day extra special for me and the Mrs.

Excellent food. Restaurant is right on the beach and the service is excellent. A friend recommended this place to me and I’m glad he did. I will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our meal. The chowder and clam fritters were a great starter. I enjoyed my sword fish ,( the day's special) the portion was very generous!The location is unique. Our server was very good. More of a beach bar atmosphere than fine dining. We ate at a high top inside the tent as the weather was not great, but I would like to try the outdoor patio with fireplace saved from the original Inn.

My son loves this place, was totally disappointed on this hot summer day when you did not open Wed 9/6/2023 .Anyways I saved a ton of money not having to pay your high prices. I do admit your food is good.

I come to the beach four times a year and every morning I make my way to The Little Mermaid for the world's best sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. Vicki is the best! I love chatting with her when I order and she's so fun. The cook, Maria, is so personable and kind, she always makes me laugh. I've been coming here for three years and this place always has the best food, people, and service. Shout out to this amazing spot and if you're in the area, check it out! See you all next year!

The pizza is ALWAYS SO GOOD TRY THE SOUPY PIZZA 🍕

My glass was dirty with lipstick on it and I don't wear lipstick. The steak knives are so old there's no teeth left on them so good luck trying to cut your meat. And my steak was over cooked. Definitely needs an up grade in every area. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and I won't eat there again.

First time here and the food was divine, shared several appetizers with drinks after a movie outside and it was the perfect end to a girl's night out. The Shallows is definitely the hidden gem of Westerly

This is a seaside restaurant that's only sbout 75 yards up the beach from the Pleasantview Inn. It's a stand alone building/kitchen with a large attached industrial white tent used for seating and dining purposes. The Atlantic Ocean and the sound of the surf is a beautiful backdrop to enjoy a very diverse menu. Everything, from seafood to steaks. Their salads are fresh and quite delicious as well. In the evenings they're usually playing some background music to mute the sounds of multiple tables laughing, talking and having a great time. The table service was very good, and our waiter did an awesome job taking care of our very large family froup of eighteen. The tent is set up so sections can be open or closed for comfort if needed. **Don't forget to ask for the do it yourself smores platter. You won't be disappointed, especially if you have children in your party.
NOTE: I gave the food 4 stars because my scallop platter was COLD. I was with a very large group of family members who were going out, and I didn't want to hold everyone up waiting for my food to be warned up.
I gave the restaurant 5 stars because it was well deserved.

On a recent day trip to Westerly we stopped in for an early lunch. The views are stunning, especially from the outside patio, which is screened from the sun by a sail (thank goodness) and has a fire place (which would be great in the evenings.
The views are only just the beginning, the servers were courteous and friendly, and the food fresh and delicious.
The seafood sandwich and the fish and chips were among the best we have had in a long time.
Reservations are strongly recommended. And they have free two hour parking right on the beach as well.

What a hidden gem! The menu is wildly creative, and everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. Don't miss the Lobster Bun if it's on the menu - it's ethereal!

I came in tonight with my wife, mother and 2 kids. All of our food was exceptional. The prime rib is heavenly and the oysters Rockefeller are worth the trip. Fresh and delicious. My two girls were tired from a day at the beach and our waitress Gabriela was wonderful. She made my girls laugh, enjoy their meal, and even stopped by when she had a minute to talk to my kids about their toys. Attentive but not smothering. I noticed the staff here clear and set their own tables too. A pleasant waitress made our experience even better and is hard to come by in these young kids. 10/10 all around!!!! Will definitely be coming back when we visit westerly again next summer.

One dude is okay, the other 3 or 4 working there completely ignored me.. helped another guy as soon as he walked in like I wasn't there. And a young girl working complaining about her life and how mad she is. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. The pizza slices looked like they were sitting out in open for over 3-5 hours, do not recommend!

I haven't been here in years but can remember how good it used to be. I was not disappointed. Ordered the Midway Special.

Good dinner. Not too busy when we were there. The food was fast and solid. The waitress was cool and did a great job. It was well-priced and not far from the beach at all. The oysters were delicious.

The chowder was good. Fish and chips were cooked perfectly.

We would go again and have been here before. It's definitely gotten better.

First and foremost, their little mermaid has crazy eyes which will haunt your dreams. Attempted to go to this place at 3:45pm the day they opened and supposedly were open until 5:30pm aa posted. They apologized and said no one had came there all day (even though 4 customers stood in front of them). We said we would be back for the fried dough the next morning. Showed up the next day and were told "That starts at 11:30am." They failed to mention that yesterday. $2 was a bit high for a frozen pop for a 3 year old. 1.5 stars off for inaccurate hours and 2.5 stars off for the pure nightmare fuel that serves as their logo. "Daddy, what's wrong with her eyes?" Fortunately we walked across the street to Beach Bums who had the fried dough (3 year old's first ever) and it was delicious. They also have Gifford's ice cream!

Went for dinner last night with a friend and was disappointed. The man who escorted us to our table was welcoming and warm while our server was neither. We both ordered prime rib which came with broccoli and mashed potatoes and I was barely 1/3 into my portion when the waitress asked if I wanted a box to take home and get our check! And this was not long after we started eating, there were plenty of empty tables and we both felt we were being rushed to leave. My friend complained to the man who seated us and the waitress came back with a defensive attitude to tell us she was not trying to rush us. Then she disappeared and we had to ask and wait for our check, which was brought by the man who seated us. The food was nothing special and overall it was not a good experience. I won't be going there again.

Tried to be open minded, since you have to have a special palate to live/eat in this town as everything is subpar, but this was inedible. Sad to say Domino’s is a bit tastier, but only because they add salt.

My son and I got two different small pizzas. Best we've ever had. You have to try Midway delicious!!

Incredible outdoor seating area that is soured by incredibly steep prices. Beer selection was small but the choices were excellent. $12 for a "foccacia", which just wound up being four small slices of bread with a compound butter on the side. Overall a mixed bag. I'd definitely go here on a sunny day for a beer or two, but then hop over to a different bar with more reasonable prices.

Only gave it 1 star so i can write my review. I ordered a pizza with onions & sausage because my husband does not care for peppers. Pizza comes, it's peppers & sausage. i called back, just to make sure I ordered it right. The girl goes i have no idea, i wrote down what you said Well, that's why I was calling to ask what i said. Duh. She precedes to make up a story about how she even asked me what kind of pepper and said i said green. Absolutely no way i would've said green, if anything i would've said Red roasted. So i know she's lying. She threw the phone down and said i can't deal with this i waited a few minutes, a man picks up and he goes you want your $@$&!%¥ pizza or what!!? i said you know what, i don't want anything from this place ever again. 37 years of my business gone in 60 seconds Great way to treat your customers,! I'm soooo impressed .

This is a great restaurant on the Misquamicut beach. You can reserve($50) a spot on their private beach. Where the servers will bring you drinks and food On the beach. The food is good the service was great. The atmosphere is on point that's why it's a 5 star. I'm going to start looking at motels on the beach to spend a weekend their... I will be seeing more of this place for the 2023. Since the summer is almost over. There's also parking across the street that belongs to Andrea's.

An excellent variety of salads, pizzas, and grinders. Quick service, great food, always fresh. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for good quick pizza.

Amazing atmosphere. Off the beaten path. We were here between 6pm & 8pm on a Friday and there were very few people there. The bar inside is very quant and the outdoor area is very aesthetically pleasing.

Accidentally found the shallows after an incredible day at the beach. This husband and wife team really did everything right. The service is incredible and the food will blow your mind. Not to mention their drink menu is fantastic and very creative. One thing to note since everything is local the menu changes fast. So go ahead and order that extra dish because you'll absolutely love it...
We can't wait to go back next time we're in town.

This is a place for the locals. Large horse shoe shaped bar. Set up for weddings and large parties primarily. Severs function rooms here. The food was adequate, nothing fancy. Prices were a little out of line for what this is but I guess the area justifies it. The restaurant was full on a week night. The food was served hot off the stove, which I love and speaks volumes to the kitchen manager because every table was full. We had the cod and no doubt it was swimming in the ocean yesterday. You know that day boat fresh cod taste when you get it. It had that old 80’s vibe. Liked it but didn’t love the it.

Went to Andrea for a quick lunch. I must say the location is very nice it’s located by the water. My overall experience was excellent. The hostess was pleasant and our server was very attentive. The menu selection was great. The atmosphere was very relaxing. They had music playing but it wasn’t ignorantly loud and they had different genre of music which was a plus. Our order came out fast. So, Why the 4 star? Truth is I wanted to give this location a 4.5 Star and it’s either a 4 star or 5 star with no in between. If, I give this venue a 5 star than I’m not being fair with my review. The buttered lobster roll I order was a tad bit dry but everything else we order was delicious even the dry lobster roll. I would still give it another go and recommend this venue. FYI if you are wishing to sit at a table by the water you much make a reservation. -I hope that help.

Very rude staff, had food poisoning, and paid $40 for parking just to have to move my car 3 times in a tiny lot. On top of that, you have to pay $1 to use the bathrooms which were absolutely disgusting and looked like they haven’t been cleaned in months. Would not recommend coming here.

For breakfast, this place is less expensive than others in town; however, there is no not-meat breakfast sandwich offered. If you ask for one egg and cheese, you will pay the same as the sandwich with bacon, ham, or sausage, but don't ask for the meat that you're paying for on the side because they say no. You pay for it, but they won't give it to you. Ridiculous. I should say, the sandwiches are made freshly, and they are good. But why institute poor policy that leaves a customer feeling ripped off?

Best breakfast I've ever had! They're egg sandwiches on a grilled english muffin are out of this world! Cute little place and also dog friendly! My fiancé and I ate here for breakfast while we were on vacation and we couldn't have found a better spot! We will definitely be coming back here next time we visit!!

Fun place. Delicious shuck a buck raw bar special during the week. The oysters and little necks were fresh. The calamari appetizer is a Mediterranean experience with olive oil and olives.

I liked this place. It's a little difficult to find - keep your eyes open. It is in a converted carriage house with river seating. The owners are great and put a lot of love into the space. We ordered the olive appetizer. Unique and tasty.

Nice hidden away location in downtown Westerly along the Pawcutuck River. Although we only ordered drinks and apps, service was great, drinks were very good. The cheese platter was delicious and the peel and eat shrimp had a wonderful spicy rub on them. Nice atmosphere and look forward to trying this restaurant out for dinner.

Delicious little seafood shack right on the water! Pricing is decent and seating is shaded so yuh won’t get burnt and picnic tables outside so you can be closer to the water!
