There are few open areas in Moscow.  The city of twelve million people is filled with high-rise buildings standing next to each other.  A rare place in Moscow - VDNKh (Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy).  In particular, the area in front of the Museum of Cosmonautics allows you to see the flying rocket of the Conquerors of Space Monument, directed into the sky.

The Alexander Garden Obelisk is an obelisk located within the Alexander Garden, near the walls of Kremlin, in Moscow, Russia. The obelisk was initially designed by S. A. Vlasev and erected on July 10, 1914, at the entrance of the garden. It was created as a celebration of the tercentenary of the House of Romanov. The obelisk was moved closer to the center of the garden in 1966. Soon after the revolution, by dismantling its parts, the drum was filled with reliefs and counter-reliefs that were then converted into a Monument-obelisk to commemorate the "outstanding thinkers and personalities of the struggle for the liberation of workers". It thus became the first monumental statue of the new state.

In 2013, on the 400th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty, the monument was dismantled for the sake of creating a modern replica of the original monument to the Russian rulers of the Romanov dynasty. According to specialists, the original monument was almost lost in the process.

You can also visit the Cosmonauts Alley, which features busts of Soviet cosmonauts, and the Korolyov Memorial Museum, which is the former residence of Sergey Korolyov.

Монумент посвящен 300-летию дома Романовых. У памятника интересная история. Он был установлен здесь более ста лет назад. Однако после прихода к власти большевиков его переделали в монумент, посвященный деятелям, что боролись за права и освобождение трудящихся. После смены строя на сегодняшний попытка новой реконструкции не удалась. В итоге сегодня здесь можно лицезреть новый обелиск, что выполнен из гранита и является неточной копией того, что стоял здесь раньше.

Александр 2 - Освободитель. Человек который своими реформами пытался изменить уклад Русской жизни, и ещё много, много чего успел сделать за время своего правления.
Наверное был бы отличным примером для Николая 2, как царь, который "смог". Сам памятник весьма хорош, даже есть пояснительная табличка с основными достижениями.

Monument to Emperor of All Russia, Tsar of Poland and Grand Duke of Finland Alexander II (1818-1881). He ruled since December 1855. That man conducted useful reforms in all spheres of the state and public life. He cancelled the serfdom for the peasant in 1861. Before that date 25% of Russian peasants were still serfs. He won the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878 and saved Bulgarians from genocide and liberated them from five hundred years of Ottoman slavery. He victory caused independence of Romania and Serbia. Мне памятник понравился. Не понравилось место, возле которого он стоит. Я тот редкий человек, который против того, что сломали бассейн Москва и построили храм Христа спасителя. Мое мнение такое: от бассейна гораздо больше пользы, чем от культовых религиозных сооружений. Но, видимо, Большой Брат думает иначе. Жаль.

It is a small but enjoyable place to have a quick rest from all the hustle and bustle going on around it. When you sit there the sound of the fountains absorbs the city sounds making you feel calm and relaxed.

หลังจากชมมหาวิหารเซนต์ซาเวียร์แล้ว ลงมาเดินเล่นในสวนติดๆ กัน เห็นอนุสาวรีย์นี้ ที่แปลกคือ มีสิงห์โต 2 ตัวนั่งคุ้มกันอยู่ด้านข้าง หันหลังให้กับพระเจ้าซาร์อเล็กซานเดอร์ ที่ 2 ท่านเป็นผู้ประกาศเลิกทาสให้กับรัสเซียค่ะ (นับว่าเป็นประเทศสุดท้ายในยุโรปที่ประกาศเลิกทาสค่ะ)

One of the interesting monuments to see at the Alexander Garden in Moscow is the Romanov Obelisk near the Grotto and Monument to Patriarch Hermogenes.

Interestingly, the obelisk was erected and dedicated to the Romanovs before being renamed for the socialist thinkers of the Soviet era. The obelisk was dismantled, reconstructed and rededicated to the Romanovs in 2013 during the 300 anniversary of the House of the Romanovs.

Here you will a typical obelisk made of granite and crowned by a two-headed eagle. There is a Romanov Boyar Coat of Arms on the back and the names of the Tsars of the House of the Romanovs on the front. The base of the obelisk is also rather decorative.

You can view this attraction as well as several others around this area of Alexander Garden while you are enjoying your time in this nice stretch of green space west of the Kremlin.

В моём далёком детстве обелиск стоял на входе в Александровский сад и коммунистический режим выгравировал на нём имена коммунистических деятелей. При открытии могилы Неизвестного солдата обелиск перенесли в центр сада. И в конце концов восстановили справедливость историческую и вернули на него имена российских монархов.

Fantastiches Denkmal! Es ist glücklicherweise in einem sehr guten Zustand. Unter dem Denkmal befindet sich das Kosmonauten-Museum.

Памятник-обелиск в Александровском саду — обелискв Москве, расположенный в Александровском саду, неподалёку от стен Московского Кремля. Первоначальный, т. н. Романовский обелиск, был выполнен по проекту Сергея Власьева и воздвигнут 10 июля1914 года у входа в сад (передвинут ближе к центру сада в 1966 году) по случаю отмечавшегося в предшествующем году трёхсотлетия дома Романовых.

В 2013 году, к 400-летию дома Романовых, монумент был разобран ради создания современной реплики первоначального памятника российским правителям из рода Романовых, при этом, по утверждениям специалистов, оригинальный памятник был практически утрачен.

Just like everything else in Russia, it's a huge and beautiful monument. There is also a museum dedicated to astronauts and space engeneering.
