Older lady cashier in the middle lane will NEVER allow you to put your items inside your bag until she done with all of you items (because she thinks you will steal). Talk about a control freak. Also they allow their own staff to cut lines no matter how long the lines are, they just don’t care. “I’m staff, I work here, so I go first”. Lastly they charged me twice for the same item. CHECK YO RECEIPTS BRO!!!!
Best prices for produce in downtown Toronto. Been shopping here since I was a child. The shop front hasn't changed much. The prices haven't spiked compared to the bigger chains like Loblaws and whatnot. Their cashiers are super quick, but I recommend visiting here on weekdays if possible. On the weekend it's BUSY.

The other day we were able to spend under $25 for 3 bags of clementine, 1 lettuce, 2 stalks of carrot, 3 lemons, 4 potatoes, a bag of onions, 1 cucumber, 1 bag of Bok Choy/lettuce, box of cherry tomatoes. It's hard to beat that.
Value grocery maker expect asian people you might found ingredients a lot. All meets are cheaper than supermarket, sea foods as well

Decent selection and fair prices. The fish section could use some cleaning up though.
Some of the registers take Amex (but not all of them for some reason), identified by the signs that say "Visa/Debit Only" or "Any credit/debit).
The environment was stinky and one of the cashier was so rude. We tried to use our credit card and she was not that kind and behaved like irritated with us. She was saying something that we were not familiar with...........I won't come back here again and won't recommend anyone

Poultry such as chicken drumstick is cheap compared to T&T and Loblaws... but packing wise is super basic.

Cleanliness around the wet area is a little cringe but all in all you can find lots of stuffs to cook Asian food as compared to Western grocers.

A definite recommend if you're looking for stuff you can't usually find in Western grocers and looking for a cheaper place to shop

I was very disappointed tonight. I went there to purchase two bags of seaweed which in each bag has 10 seaweed packs. The prices definitely have gone up but not what I was upset about. They listed the prices on each bag as $4.99 and the signage on the wall also said $4.99. This kind of product they usually don’t tax on and if they did it wouldn’t be that much more.

I was happy with the price but once I reached the cashier they said no it’s not the correct price. The sales clerk put the wrong prices which wasn’t true. I came and purchased this product many times. They even corrected it on their system when I came the first time. The second time it was the same thing charging me more $6.77 but the cashier was the same person and she only charged me $5.

Today I was charged again for $6.77. It was one of the cashiers that was there the first time and she said it’s not the correct price that the salesclerk made a mistake it’s actually $6.77. I told her the signage and on the package says $4.99. She was so mean and decided to speak to my mom in English when we were speaking Chinese. She said “do you want to buy it or not”.

We decided to pass up on the product. It has been over a month that the product has been listed as $4.99. I bet if I go there again tomorrow the price sign will still be the same but they will charge depending on the person which isn’t fair and is unkind.

Please be careful on your purchases because the prices could be changed for no reason once you cash out.

**photos were taken the next day. Nov 30th and guess what it still says $4.99 and it has been restocked full and each individual package has the price of $4.99 as well.
I bought this lemon tea at this shop yesterday, it has a very awful plastic smell. I tried preparing a cup to drink and I wasn't surprised how it turned out. 🤮🤮🤮 It says it was made in Korea but I highly doubt it!
I've been drinking this kind of tea since I was in HK and I was so disappointed finding a bad one in this shop! This bottle is definitely going to the garbage!
Owner of halal meat store in fresh land is behaving so rude..
I asked him 17 chicken leg pieces..put in 2 different bags..he declined and he told me that don't come to my store if you wanted in different bags. Any how I didn't buy..I bought frehsland chicken.
Original wai wai and other nepali products. Wow

If I could give Jian Hing Food-mart more than five stars, I would! This place is an absolute gem for anyone who loves diverse groceries and unbeatable prices.

First and foremost, affordability is the name of the game here. Jian Hing Food-mart offers groceries at prices that’ll make your wallet smile. It’s a haven for those looking to stretch their budget without compromising on quality.

But what truly sets this place apart is its variety. It’s not just a Chinese supermarket; it’s a world of flavors under one roof. From Indian spices to Chinese staples and good old Canadian favorites, you’ll find it all here. It’s like taking a culinary journey around the globe with each visit.

The cleanliness and professionalism at Jian Hing Food-mart are top-notch. The store is always spotless, well-organized, and well-lit. The staff is friendly and eager to assist, making your shopping experience a breeze.

A typical Chinese supermarket with almost all information on products in Chinese. Here you can find most of the raw materials you need for cooking in the kitchen and at a good price.

What lowers the rating is partly the cleanliness of the store and partly their payment system as they only accept debit cards and not credit cards.
Freshland is great for their supermarket section as they carry pretty much everything you can think off from all different countries.
But my most favourite part is their Cooked Food court section. They have the best Chinese food counter with varied options of super yummy dishes. Just recently they added a fresh Sushi counter and I love it.
They have also added a vegan food counter which I have no tried yet but I am sure it will be good too.
This food court has become my go to! Love it!

I love shopping at this supermarket! They offer a wide range of products at affordable prices, making it a budget-friendly option for everyday essentials. The store is well-organized, and the staff is always helpful and friendly.
TERRIBLE costumer service, cashier was great, but the seafood guy was aggressive with me and my friends mom. He refused to help us pick a crab and started yelling at us when we kindly asked to purchase two. Even the cashier agreed that he was aggressive. Boooooo.
Nice place to shop, fish, chicken, fruits & vegetables. Prices are affordable & competitive.
Produce is usually better quality with a wider variety than most chain grocery stores, sometimes at a considerably better price as well. Some of the marked down produce they are getting rid of is better than what you might find at No Frills some days. Fish is fresh as it gets, meat counter is also value for quality. There is a separate meat counter just for halal.

Highway 7, Markham, ON

Your delivery driver is wreckless, and impatient. One of the worst I've seen in years.
I watched him for blocks, weaving from lane to lane, tailgating and speeding, and honking at anyone he thought was in his way.

I’m a frequent shopper here but the meat department needs immediate attention. I purchased some Goat meat today for a curry and it seems to be intentional cut sharply (almost to razor sharpness) to harm those who are buying it. This could be very dangerous to young children and especially the elderly. I would suggest the management investigate, educate and train the butchers better as this could be very dangerous or even life threatening! This is unacceptable!

One of the BEST groceries here in Scarborough! Absolutely love their vast diverse collection of products! You can find food from all the continents of the world here! I always come out with everything I couldn't find anywhere else!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Good selection of fruits, vegetables, meats and spices, but is not always fresh nor does it taste good. Nice that they still don't charge for bags and open almost everyday, including holidays.
Fairly good supermarket but not well organized. Very confusing cashier lineups. Not enough cashiers to manage long lineups of customers on a weekend.
Has a great variety of reasonably priced plants and flowers.

Staffs are not good. And bit expensive. The good thing is that most of the produce is fresh.

Food court first store (left to bubble tea shop) do not buy, rice was cold, much like over night rice. Pork tasted fishy. Had to throw the whole plate.

I love this place so much 😭 they have a solid selection of products that can be hard to find elsewhere (I literally was ordering mochiko off Amazon because I couldn’t find it locally) and their prices are reasonable. It’s a small space and gets crowded but they have some great-looking produce and seafood as well as pantry goods.

It’s a small space with narrow aisles and it gets crowded but I’m absolutely going to be back.
They take debit - a plus if you, like me, hate paying with cash (although they obviously also take cash). The cashiers were friendly enough.

The venerable KAI WEI Supermarket on the South East side of Spadina and Dundas Streets, is a great vast emporium, showcasing outside its offerings of Western and Asian fruits and vegetables wrapping around to Grange Street, and its international supermarket wares, meats and live fish in its spacious interior, adding a Bitcoin machine for crypto-shoppers. The prices are inexpensive, the items fresh (can it be otherwise...) & the checkout super fast with a small army of razor sharp cashiers.

The Fantastic Hua Sheng Chinese Supermarket - open 7 days - on the East side of Spadina north of Dundas, is an INFLATION BUSTER with its terrifically low prices without compromising quality of its fruit and produce sold outside on clement days, and its other complete shopping staples in its vast interior with fast and efficient cashier service. Your wallet will love you!
A decent Chinese grocery store that carries a wide variety of Asian and Caribbean food and spices. Reasonable prices but you will have to be careful to check best before dates especially on meats and packaged food. If you can overlook the occassional fish stench and tidiness or that you might sometimes buy expired goods…worth a visit.I especially come here for the two shelves that carry Nepali products not found elsewhere in Toronto, like Taichin, Timur, Gundruk, Sinki and rice, beans and lentils from Jumla. Also Indian snacks are cheaper here compared to Indian grocery stores.

Didn't know about this supermarket until I saw it on a flyer last night. Went there today and I was surprised by how spacious and clean it is. It also has a good variety of Asian products. Will definitely go again.
This supermarket has all the things you want if you're a non vegetarian. From fresh supplies to the frozen ones, you just name it. Good variety of fruits and vegetables are there as well. It is a big place and never too crowdy. It also has other grocery items like housewares and kitchenware. Chinese and Japanese cuisine items are also here. Prices are good as compared to other stores.
This is the cleanest asian supermarket in the area. Ambience is very nice. Your place where to get your everyday kitchen necessities. Only small comment are in the meat section crews, some of them are impatient and has to know that customers has to be served right. Try to be tolerant with them but if they went too far, just report to the supervisor. That is what I will do.Overall, 4 stars for them

My first visit to this location, well organized and clean store. Friendly staff on duty to serve you.
Halal meat section was very presentable.
Prices are very compatible. Would be nice to have more staff available to speed up the services.
Highly recommended to visit and enjoy their weekly specials.

Fresh produce, authentic Chinatown supermarket with narrow aisles and meat/seafood service counters in the back! Constantly well stocked items, cashiers are quick to check out your items. Lots of diverse products and generally has the items you need for Asian cooking. Staff are all quick and straight to the point. Also helps to know or bring an image of what you're looking for if it's something foreign. Worth popping in for a quick shop. Just be warned, it's always busy here!
One of the Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, and Japanese Super Market in Toronto downtown China town. Good customer service. Lots of selections of East Asian Fruits, Vegetables, Fishes, Seafoods, and Meats are available on lowest price. Also Chinese and Other East Asian products are available too. Enjoy Shopping Here. Cash payment much preferred.

Good.
One of the Chinese supermarkets in this area. Cheaper price than regular groceries store. I like it.
Diverse food, especially Asian vegetables, foods and spices. Apart from Chinese brands, I have found many Vietnamese and Korean foods here.
This is a Chinese supermarket so only about 50% of staff know English. But they're friendly.
A pity is the late opening hours (9:00 am) and early closing. Why not open an hour earlier (8:00 am) and close a little later? :)

Typical Chinese Supermarket but most of the Asian goods are available. Fresh vegetables and fruits are available economically. If you are looking for different types of Fish, this is the place to go. Downside is you won't be able to get any help since nobody speaks English, you are on your own.

Decent prices, horrible conditions inside. So many insects and bugs flying around. Some of their fresh produce is riddled with diseases and fungus, decaying away, not to mention the bugs.

Inside smells horrendous. The only reason I would go back is because of their prices. Otherwise I would never step foot back inside.

I would recommend Foody World at Kennedy Commons if you’re looking for better conditions and food in general.
