Best authentic Thai I've ever had!
I drive down from Michigan a few times a year just to grab takeout from this great spot.
Such a welcoming place to enjoy a meal. The atmosphere is always warm and friendly!
It's been a while since I've eaten IN house due to covid but I'm still happily supporting whether the dining room is open or not

Food tastes great. Vegetables are nice and crisp. Thai tea and coffee are delicious. Definitely check out the dessert menu.
Triple crown restaurant! Let me get into it!
The food here was very good. If you don’t know TCR is a dimsum place. All the food is very good. The quality is great! You can taste how good each dish is that you order. And the price is worth every bite! The service was okay seemed a little chaotic with the amount of people who work there walking around. The atmosphere was great. You can over look the main road and see people and things happening outside which is a nice change! It defiantly was welcoming when you first walk in. Overall, I will say give TCR a shot if you wanna have good tasting dimsum.
Nice service but slow. But it was Christmas mid day and packed. All dishes amazing. Took food home. Leftovers also amazing if you have plum sauce and Siracha. I do miss Three Happiness on the corner which had better service and food though. By a margin. I def recommend this place!

Super friendly and unreal panang curry. The pot stickers and crab rangoons were delicious as well. 10/10 would go here again. The vibes are immaculate for a go to local Thai restaurant.
A decent and reasonably priced restaurant. Food is delicious. Service can be a bit slow, especially during evening/dinner rush hours. Portion is huge, and good to serve two people for 1.5 meals easily. Cleanliness could be improved. Overall positive.

Whom I believe to be eithier the Manager or an employee literally ran out the door to chase and harass me to pick up an order when I was on an important call claiming (at 8:30 pm mind you) that they are closing soon. They dont close until 8:45pm on that specific day.

How he even knew what order I was picking up and why I was even near the facility is beyond the point. I stepped in an important call came through, I stepped out to take it.Why he had to FOLLOW me outside to ask me “you picking up an order” while he could clearly see me on the phone is harassing. You don’t try to rush someone off a call (especially if they are already outside of the establishment) the manager harasses women. I would avoid this place

The food is very good. I loved everything I tried. The thing that took me by surprise is the portions and prices. For the price the amount of food and meat they give is pretty small. A dinner for 2 was about $100 without tip. If the portions matched the prices it would be more fair.
Haven’t been here a bunch of times, but my experience was great. I was just before the dinner rush. They serve dim sum all day, so I started with some pan seared shrimp and chive dumplings which were great, then moved on to the Salt and Pepper Pork chops, which were awesome. Yes, you’re gonna have to spit out the bones. If that’s off-putting for you, go to Panda and order the General Tao’s chicken. This was a great experience.

My favorite is duck wings and duck feet, but be sure to buy before 12 noon, because they are sold out fast, cheap and delicious

Their wonton soup says it’s stuffed with chicken. No where does it say it’s stuffed with shrimp. I have a seafood allergy, and this should be stated in the ingredients!!! It’s dangerous.
My partner tried calling to inform them,
but they yelled and hung up on him. Very unprofessional.
I wouldn’t recommend going here.

the food here was great! the dim sum was super delicious. the niu he and fried tofu were my favorite. i came here with friends and family, and it was a great place to have a group lunch. great place for food if you’re in chinatown!
Came to celebrate my husband’s birthday and it did not disappoint. The service was impeccable, prompt and courteous. First time here so we ordered a variety of dishes and everything was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be coming back.
Absolutely delicious dim sum. Everything ordered was a banger. Highly recommend and certainly will be coming again.

Food is delicious. But prices went up and portions got smaller and this is not updated on website. Asked for some hot sauce (which previously was on tables for free) and they said it was $2 more. Wild. No more dine-in, only take out.

Beautiful atmosphere. The food is pretty. I love that you can have dim sum all day.
The eggplant dish is delicious.
A solid place to get some good Chinese food. They have a wide variety of items to choose from. We did the noodle soup bowl with adding extra meat and veggies to it, crispy garlic style pork chop, and a couple of smaller sides. The food is plenty and of good quality. The double lemon iced tea was great to wash down the food. The interior is not too large with decorations of the streets of Asia, with neon signs hanging.

The place is not modern by any means, but the staff and food is amazing. We order the same thing every time. Chicken with Asian broccoli. Soups. Potstickers and sesame balls. Incredible food. We're regulars for such and we drive from Crystal Lake to come here. Simply worth a visit. Enjoy the food, we haven't had a bad plate yet.

I've been a fan and cusomter of this place for 11 years. I've always ordered the exact same thing for the entire 11 years and it was quality food every single time.
I orderedmy good for the last time as I'm moving to Florida and will no longer have the privilege to order from my good Thai family.
Thank you for all the great memories and amazing food for the last decade.

Ordered via app and no instructions followed and 2 entrees but only given 1.5 of my entrees . Word of advice please hire people that can read/follow instructions. Spoke to manager and he disregarded my complaints I’m sure it’s because I’m not the right race. Also rice is mushy and over cooked. Gone are the days when employees took pride in serving customers food edible foods. $11 for garbage

A Chinatown staple, delicious comfort food! Came here for dinner with friends and we were ecstatic about the variety - there was something for everyone and prices were fair! Some highlights included the chicken feet, the turnip cakes, and siu mai. For service, make sure to flag down wait staff. Decor and furniture was outdated, but we didn’t mind because the food was so worth it!
Ramen was decent! Menu was a bit confusing honestly but I liked the beef ramen — there was some pig blood in there that threw me off but otherwise the beef tripe and beef was really great, and the congee was good too.

The portion size is on the smaller side given the price, so you could look into some other options for more food if you plan on spending $15-$20 for lunch. But the food was good though. Keep in mind they only have takeout.
As I walked in staff was sitting at table didn't seem to want to take care of me even though I called in an order. I ordered a large beef fried rice and it was horrible no flavor at all. And seemed small for a large. I will definitely NOT come back to this establishment again. Don't get me started on the dirty lobster tanks that smell

It was our first time here, and this place is decently not too bad. I ordered the shrimp dumplings, chicken fried rice, and fried pork. The fried pork was good but super moist (wish it came with some spicy sauce or something instead of sugar). The fried rice was okay, it needs a little more flavor though. The shrimp dumpling was super good however. Overall, the place is okay. It seems quite fancy and prices come out to be pretty high (around $30-$50 or more). I would not eat here again, considering the price and the food (not too impressed). The service was good however!

Was an interesting little place, wasn’t sure if I even walked into the right door. Lady barely spoke English but was real friendly! Duck was really good!
Still my favorite dim sum place in Chicago after all these years. All of the staples are here and made to order, as well as delicious.

The food was good and the service was good the atmosphere was also good this panda express is a hello of a lot better than the one at Harlem Irving Plaza
First time here and had mixed experiences!

Goods: Great menu options, wonderful and colourful atmosphere and very well priced in my opinion. Also incredibly generous portions and great value for money! The noodles and curry fish balls were excellent and would definitely come back for these!

Bads: I found all the dishes I ordered a little bit or miss. It was either really really good or kind of bad. I found the tofu and the fish we ordered to be a little dry and lacking any sort of sauce which I thought was necessary. The service was also a little lacking, we went at a time that was not very busy at all but found that no one was paying attention to us and we had a lot of trouble getting our waiters’ attention even though there was barely any other customers.

Overall, a good experience and I’ll definitely be back to try more of their dishes, but probably avoid some of the ones I tried before!

This place was pretty good for my first time. I arrived with a party of 2 and was seated immediately with no wait. We were given a menu but I felt they took a little long too come take our order. I ordered a vegetable fried rice plate and added shrimp on a tablet they provided, but when our plate arrived it had no shrimp. I looked at the receipt and instead of adding shrimp they added extra vegetables to my vegetable fried rice. Pretty disappointed but the flavor was still good. I also order the crab rangoons and they were delicious. The place was good but missed the mark a little on the service side.
Good dim sum, service is on the lower end of what I am accustomed to, but the food is great and makes up for it.

We were very disappointed in the dim sum here. They do have a very nice variety of items you order off a menu but they are just ok. When I read about their Michelin worthiness I was excited to try them but didn’t find any of the food that could or should be Michelin awarded! Food was good but not great.

Many things were amiss and it wasn’t just the food. The table was dirty. The teapot brought to the table had brown stuff caked on the side of the outside. The restaurant had a weird smell too. I was embarrassed as I had hyped this place up to the person I was bringing here. I was totally disappointed and kind of embarrassed.

You order the dim sum and they bring it to the table vs the cart system. I’ll go back to my reliable dim sum restaurant standby; Phoenix!

This time in Chicago I have decided to try a new place for dim sum after a friend's recommendation to Triple Crown and overall was not disappointed. My friends and I had a reduced menu for some reason so it had fewer items than the one shown online. All of the congee and the vegetables were missing. I do not know if it is because we were there for dinner, but that was okay because what the menu contained was more than enough. We ordered what we could and it satisfied my friends' cravings as most of them fulfilled their very first dim sum experience.

My favorite was the liquid custard bun (流沙包), the triple crown shrimp dumpling (大三元虾饺), the shrimp & chive dumpling (鲜虾韭菜饺), and the pan fried turnip cake (香煎萝卜糕). One thing I say about dim sum is that when one has it, there's not really a place where dim sum is going to be spectacularly good, because one would expect it to taste like what it is supposed to taste like. Only when it is bad that one would be able to tell right away. So the items I mentioned, they tasted like what they were supposed to taste like, and that was definitely a good thing. Not saying the rest didn't, though, as many other items were good as well, such as the scallop dumpling (带子饺), the fried sesame ball (黄金煎堆仔), the stuffed sticky rice (珍珠糯米鸡), and so on. A few items did not taste as good as I had expected, but were still good enough and would not ruin my experience at all. We ordered twelve different kinds of dim sum and were overall satisfied. My friends who were not Chinese had a wonderful time with their first dim sum experience.

It would have been nice if some items like the pineapple top BBQ pork bun (叉烧菠萝包), the Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce (蚝油芥蓝), the puffy egg custard tart (酥皮蛋挞), etc. were on the menu that we were given. But if the reduced menu was a dinner thing, then so be it. I still thought whatever they had would be able to give people a pleasant experience.

They also had other menus with non-dim sum items. I took a look but didn't pay much attention. The photos looked appealing, though. I just don't know if I would return to this place to order items that were not dim sim simply because a lot of the dishes I have had while at home in China and grew up eating them (but not necessarily dim sum). But I still encourage others to give them a shot.

In conclusion, great food! A lot of other factors ranging from courtesy to sanitation (bathrooms) can be better, but I understand how Chinese restaurants here in the United States typically run their businesses and I am not picky about it. It just means the food is reliably good as it has the heaviest emphasis.

Just had the worst experience here. Waited a few minutes for a side to be ready which was absolutely fine. Put my order in and waited. Then my entree became unavailable, ok another 5min wait, annoyed yes but I'll wait. It took almost 25mins for them to sort my order. I had to check in after about 15mins as the staff hadn't given any update. I also confirmed my 3rd choice to be boxed, it went on the plate that sat on the counter for over 15mins getting cold while I waited for the entree to be ready. They weren't busy at all so it was really disappointing.
Not one staff member apologized for any inconvenience and didn't seem to care about customer service. Highly disappointed.

Recently, while visiting Chinatown and my kids decided we were going to try a little bit of every restaurant, and though all of them were pretty good China Café stood out and we ended up eating there twice in our 10 day visit

We intentionally order things that were unique and not found in restaurants where we live, and though my kids are picky, they loved everything, including the waitress that we got on both occasions, who is very friendly

When we return next year on business, we are definitely going to be coming back to the restaurant

They had a large variety of food and most were pretty good! Highly recommend their chicken feet and bbq pork buns. Their drinks were pretty strong too! Servers didn't talk too much but was good.
Visited Triple Crown for the first time after several years with my family for DimSum and I was not really impressed.

The food was pretty decent for a Chinese restaurant, it doesn’t wow me or anything. The portions are small for the price that you’re paying.

Service was relatively quick, however, I must say that not everyone is always paying attention, they’re just doing their jobs so you have to call for them.

The environment of Triple Crown Restaurant was kind of disgusting. The restaurant is dim, the floors are sticky, the bathrooms are filthy and the entrance fishes seem like they are neglected.
It isn't in the busiest part of Chinatown, so it wasn't very busy when we came and I was concerned it would not be as good. However, the food was excellent--particularly the seafood, for which Dolo is apparently known. The restaurant also has its own parking lot, which makes it so much easier to access than the rest of Chinatown! We enjoyed everything we got, especially the full bass and fried rice with dried scallops, and the prices were reasonable.
Tasty cart noodles inspired by iconic Hong Kong street vendors served up in a colorful and fun setting. Additionally, they have an extensive menu of cantonese classics and familiar favorites. Wash it all down with unique hot and cold teas. Don’t worry about dessert because you won’t have room for any!

Went for dim sum on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered a bunch of dishes and a couple entrees. The portion sizes here were hella large, you definitely get your money’s worth. The food tasted good, not the greatest Chinese food you’ll eat but still delicious. I’d recommend going with your friends or family and eating “family style” instead of ordering by yourself.
Extremely busy place. Were seated after a very short wait and it was bit confusing at first for newcomers. Servers were spotty initially but once they got into a grove it was okay. Was reminiscent of an old diner. We were handed a paper pen and menu and the server left without saying a word. We eventually flagged down a server and placed our order. We ordered:

Egg rolls
Fried Pork Dumpling
The Noodles dish with vegetables was a little dry missing some sort of sauce other than soy you could add at the table.
Vegetable fried rice was very good.
Sweet Soy sauce Chicken wings - were oven baked without a crisp bite and personally did not care for the sauce.
Salt n pepper pork chop was fried with great flavoring.
Sweet sake shrimp with shell off was flavorful and tasty.
Ice green apple jasmine tea was the best ever!
Brown sugar boba tea was also tasty!
Curbed our hunger fix.

This restaurant is well known Chinese place. Reservations are not needed but recommended. We didn’t have to wait for table of 4. The food is one of the best Chinese out there for sure. Dimsum were really fresh. And chicken fried rice and beef stir fried noodle were excellent. The restroom needs big improvement. Parking across the street they will validate for you and it will become just $2 for three hours.

This place is great! Friendly staff and the food is amazing. The portions are good too very well worth it.
Ordered the Mong Kok special on the menu. It was a very nice combo with duck wing, brisket, soft boiled eggs etc. Everything is delicious! Def recommend this place! The service was fair, need to wait quite long and give eye contact to let server know we were ready to order/ to pay. But overall is a very good food and experience, recommended. The decorations are very vintage and cute, give me 80’s Hong Kong vibe.
A solid spot for dim sum in Chicago especially if you’re looking for some unique dessert menu items. We came with a larger group of 7 and were placed in a large private room in the back, which was super nice. The service was quick and attentive.

We ordered staples such as chicken feet, crepes (Japanese tofu, shrimp, pea sprout egg), shrimp dumplings, short ribs, stuffed eggplant, etc. Though everything was good, I found the flavors of these staples to be a little lackluster overall. Dolo more so stood out to me in its sweet / dessert dim sum options (though maybe just because I love durian)— including durian/mango pancakes, fried stuffed taro, durian crepe, etc.

Overall, it’s not my favorite dim sum spot in Chicago for getting the dim sum staples, but I appreciated some of the unique dessert menu items. The prices are fair and reasonable, and came out to $20 per person.

Price (relative to peers): 4.5/5
Food: 4/5
Ambience: 4.5/5
Service: 5/5

This is the go to place when I was studying in UIC a few years ago. The taste is great and their open hours are quite friendly to students’ life. I visited the restaurant recently, unfortunately they are still not open for dine in. But you can sit outside to have the take out you ordered.
This is not Wu House, this is authentic Asian food without the Americanized flavors. So if you’re used to your local Chinese restaurants, this is completely different. This is what you would find in parts of Asia, but everything was still very good. They have a lot of potstickers and dumplings all very tasty. They had the white flat noodle dishes, soups are very good, the service was great. There were a lot of people in the restaurant very clean, modern decor we would definitely return again. The prices are very reasonable by today’s standards as we all know prices have gone up, but the prices here we’re still reasonable.
I got the curry chicken and it tastes great but needed more sauce. The chicken was lightly fried beforehand and that made a huge difference to the dish.

The jumbo shrimp noodles on the other hand is pretty plain and a little too salty. It’s kinda overpriced for just bok choy, shrimp and noodle.

Service is okay, kinda hard to get the attention of servers at times even though the place is small. Food is also not served at the same time even though it’s just the two of us.
I wanted to support Asian American Month, and took my granddaughter to Chinatown Chicago. She wanted sushi, we couldn't find one place that had it on this south side of Chinatown.

We chose his place because there was no long line and wasn't crowded. She wanted to try the dumpling. It didn't look like the picture on the front window.

What we picked from the menu were appetizers, which came to $30 plus we left tips.

Because our diets no pork, and no noodles, rice, sweet and sour sauces. It was slim pickings.
If you see all Chinese/asian people sitting in this restaurant, then it must be good. Really good food!!! Wonder why only 3.3 stars.
I’ve never been to a place that serves Cart noodles until today, and I was definitely impressed with this spot. They serve Traditional Cantonese specialties so we had indulge. The lychee smoothie tasted really fresh and didn’t have any syrup residue at the bottom. The street food platter had some unique items in it with the pork skin being super spicy. All the food was good, especially the cart noodles entree that i built from scratch. The signature broth is the way to go.

Literally the rudest people I’ve seen working at a restaurant. I ordered beef and broccoli and got one piece of beef. When I told them, they tried charging me for more beef! It was the weirdest situation I’ve ever experienced!

This has happened before at this location. Please walk a few blocks and go to a different location. More food and better customer service.
Came here on a late Friday evening for dinner and the setting was pretty nice. Parking was very small and packed even though the diner was about 30% full. There were about three servers but they don't actively check on you and it felt as if you have to activately catch their attention to get service. Surprisingly they serve dim sum during dinner time but it felt as if it's left overs from earlier through the day as some of the buns were a bit rough on the bottom and the sweet crepes were not as smooth and felt it was frozen or refrigerated for awhile. The dinner entres were small portioned and lack a bit of taste. For a party of 3 adults and 2 teenagers the bill came out to around $100. Overall this place is a hard recommend unless if you come for lunch or breakfast where the food is freshly made and when they are better staffed.
Hands down this is the worst experience I've experienced patronizing an Asian themed cuisine!
Upon my initial arrival my party and I proceeded to the lavatory. As we approached the counter where you place the order, an Asian woman stood there. I immediately felt a negative energy that on a normal day I would've decided at that moment to not patronize this business.
This worker's attitude was very unpleasant and unprofessional.
She was disrespectful in how she communicated with us. Speaking to us as if we were children or subordinate. She wasn't patient when we trying to review the menu to decide what to select what choice of entrees we desired. Her conversation was very condescending. I responded to her in an assertive manner due to the treatment towards us. When I asked her questions regarding the menu she was very curt in her response as if we annoying her. She rushed us along. After placing our order she recapped the items I planned to purchase. Once the order was ready, I travelled home to find she didn't provide me what I originally ordered. (Overpriced and food quality is very poor).
Consequently, I paid for an order that wasn't what I ordered. I threw it away and was left feeling disappointed and disrespected by the way she treated us. If I could give this restaurant zero stars I wouldn't hesitate to do so. I would never recommend anyone patronize this restaurant due to poor food quality and most importantly, how patrons are treated. I can be sure we were not the first people to experience this poor attitude and service. No one deserves to be mistreated for any reason, especially when people have a choice on where to spend their money.
As someone who enjoys trying new restaurants, I was thrilled when I was invited to Dolo in Chicago for a business lunch. From the moment I walked in, I knew that this was going to be a memorable experience. The ambiance was perfect for a midday meeting - quiet enough to have a conversation but still vibrant enough to not feel stuffy.

One thing that immediately stood out to me was the menu. As someone who has a deep love for spicy food, I was ecstatic to see so many options that incorporated a little heat. My colleague and I decided to order a few items to share, and we were not disappointed. The shrimp corn dumplings were a standout - tender, juicy shrimp nestled in a crispy shell that had just the right amount of kick. The fried sweet potato crepe was another favorite - a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness.

What really impressed me about Dolo, though, was when we returned for another meeting during a slower time, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was even better than before. This time, we decided to branch out a little and try some different items. The shrimp rolls were a new addition to the menu, and they were fantastic - perfectly cooked shrimp wrapped in a delicate rice paper roll. The scallion pancakes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the mango pancake was my favorite dish of the day. It was like biting into a ray of sunshine - sweet, juicy mango wrapped in a light, fluffy pancake with a cream filling.

One thing that really stood out to me was how reasonably priced everything was. It's not often that you find a restaurant that offers such high-quality food at such affordable prices. Even the stir-fried fish fillet with chives was a steal, and it was packed with flavor. To top it all off, the green tea was delicious - a perfect complement to the meal.

I cannot recommend Dolo enough. Whether you're looking for a casual lunch spot or a place to take clients, it has something for everyone. The food is outstanding, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is inviting. I've recommended it to all of my colleagues, and I look forward to returning soon.

Golden Thai

This was a happy circumstance. Our regular Thai place was closed, so we came here. I had eth Rama, the veggies were fresh, and the peanut sauce was not overpowering; it was a bit thick in consistency but had a good taste; I had mine with chicken.

The treat was the curry puffs; I have had these at another restaurant named Hong Min that used to be located in Chinatown. These are similar, but they do not have chicken, and the size is more smaller.
But they had that similar curry taste, and it beats having to go all the way to 127th to Hing Min.

We really liked the food; the peanut sauce was so enjoyable that I could see us returning just for that dish.

Service was quick, and the place was super tiny; we noticed a downstairs area, but it was closed. I saw many orders going out for pick up and delivery, and it is close to a college so I fugure everybody orders.

I do recommend it.
Pretty tasty food, though the hand pulled lamb soup I got had a bunch of chunks of lamb with hair still on it which was a bit off putting.

Highly recommend the steamed buns, though. One of the best things I've had all year.

Horrible and rude staff. Lady barely gave me any food and when asked tried to charge me for a couple of more dollars. Normally like Panda Express for a quick bite but avoid this one at all costs as they skimp on portions and frankly awful staff.
I had diarrhoea thereafter uncooked steamed prawn rice stick, Stale yam crocket, stale glutinous rice, stale siew loong pau and stale pork soya wraps. Rude stewards demanded tips.

Go next door 3 crowns, much better , the usual high aji no moto

I’ve been coming to this restaurant since 2015 and today will be my last day. I usually order their basil chicken fried rice chicken only because of a shellfish allergy. This is the second time I’ve gone to eat the rice and found shrimp in it. I don’t know if there’s new staff in the kitchen or new restaurant ownership but I don’t want to gamble with them anymore.
The Mayflower Chinese restaurant in Chicago’s Chinatown looks like it would have good food because when you walk in the door you see a lot of local Chinese people eating there. The only thing is they have fish tanks right by the door and they are dirty and smelly. Also, the food is lacking in seasoning and the servers were very rude. The decor is very old dirty and outdated. I would not recommend this place. The price is what the quality food are. If the health inspector were to come here they would probably be very surprised.

I went to this location with a party of 8, and ordered Chow Mein with Tofu, Thai Iced Tea, and a Spring Rolls Appetizer.

Take my opinions of the food with a grain of salt because this is my first time trying Thai Food.

As you can see from the pictures, I was actually given Veggies with my Chow Mein instead of Tofu. I do not know if this was a mistake or if they had run out of tofu, but being a vegetarian it was still in my wheelhouse and I don’t like making a fuss.

Thankfully it was still good. The spring rolls weren’t what I was expecting, but they were fine. The Thai Iced Tea was amazing, though.
It took a while to get my food, but we were a party of eight and most of the others got food before me, so it was to be expected.

It was all served in to-go boxes with paper plates and plastic silverware which was a bit off putting but was convenient for taking leftovers home at the end.

It’s a small cozy place, but they still managed to seat all eight of us at two neighboring tables.
It was a nice place with solid food, even though it wasn’t what I was expecting. I’m not sure Id return unless I really wanted Thai Food, though.
I love this place, hidden gem for sure.

It could be a 5/5 because of the food, but I think they could improve the service.

Sweet & sour chicken is a must-have, also fried rice. I definitely go back every time I visit Chinatown
I only ordered one dish, so take my review with a grain of salt. Positives: I got the AA Choy which tasted good--garlicky and not too salty, and it came with rice. They were cooked to a perfect texture. The portion size was big; one container was filled to the brim with vegetables, and the other filled to the brim with rice. The service was also pretty fast.

Negatives: the vegetables were extremely oily, as you can see in my second image. There were also some grains of sand in the leaves. Originally I wanted the pea tips which they didn't have, so then, I asked for the sweet potato leaves which they also didn't have. I settled on the AA Choy with the help of the cashier.

They have super authentic Cantonese food. I had the eel claypot rice, which is off the menu and about $40. I would highly recommend getting it if you have a big party.

Having a blast trying out Chinese food in Chicago Chinatown. The restaurant wasn't busy when I visited but doesn't mean the food is bad. The portion is huge and the price doesn't seem to reflect the recent inflation.

Great Cantonese style cooking. Flavor is consistent what I expect from a decent Canto restaurant. This is not a chop suey place. Owner is quite friendly and will assist in answering questions about menu or request on something different.

This will become one of my go-to restaurant whenever I visit Chicago.

Absolute authentic Fuzhou food. I recommend Wonton, fish balls, Yan Wan and the rice flour cake soup. Really good taste for me as a Fuzhouer.

I've been a customer here for about 10 years. I really like this restaurant. Although I have a mainstay dish all of the other dishes I've tried have been good. I taken friends there. Everyone has enjoyed the food.
We were sitting there enjoying our meal until a cockroach walked across the counter. And the bathroom hasn't been cleaned yet this year. It's mid September. The live fish tank was foul and there was too many fish in the decorative tank. Then the ahole had the audacity to ask for a tip. The tip of the ice burg was finding an empty Cognac bottle under our table

Been a customer for more than 10 yrs and for some reason their food has changed so much. Flavor is not as authentic as before, it really does taste like they’re skimping on some ingredients, and today they shrunk my order of crab Rangoon by 75% smh.
The name of the restaurant doesn’t say much but in Chinese character it says Fu Zhou (Foo Chow) Eatery. It’s a hole in the wall, mom and pop place with unique specialty food from the Fu Zhou region of Fu Jian (Hokkien) province in Southeastern China. We had Yan Wan, Fu Chow fish ball, fried eel (tasty but a ton of bones), a ox tail string noodle soup and they were very authentic.

Located near the end of the old Chinatown, China Cafe still stands out among the competition. What makes this restaurant unique, are the dishes written on the walls, a secret menu for Chinese readers if you will. They aren’t accompanied by pictures and at first glance, can be mistaken for poetry. Food is on par with the rest of the highly visited Chinatown restaurants, the rice stands out the most, almost as good as from the place of origin. Inside, it looks modern, split dining, a take a point for the bad smell in the first dining room of the main entrance.

$12 for half a roasted duck, this is a price that you can't find anywhere else in Chicagoland. The meat and flavors are unbeatable too. A must visit every trip to Chinatown. But be warned, this is a Chinatown old school venue, small, dim and .... use ur imaginations :-p
I found used cigarette filters in their takeout food, DO NOT EAT!!! And they don't even admit it. I'm still feeling disgusting. Someone should shut the restuarant down!
Though there was a slight language barrier.
I was both greeted and treated politely by the owner, cooks, and woman at the register. Pork belly and BBQ duck were Delicious! 👍

This place isn't to bad the food tasted pretty good and the service is quick. I wouldn't mind trying something else on the menu again.
Located in Chicago Chinatown, mayflower is a restaurant that serves solid dim sum. I went around lunch time on a Sunday, and it was busy. The establishment was filled with locals, and it was loud as people were conversing over the food. There are too many dishes to go over, but here are 3 things that were good during this visit:

1. Loh Mai Fan, sticky rice: it’s fried style (rather than steamed) and has peanuts.
2. Lo Bak Go, turnip cake: crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.
3. Wu Gok, Crispy taro puff: crispy outside filled with taro and meat on the inside.

It isn’t the fanciest, but it’s relatively inexpensive for going out for dim sum. If you’re in Chinatown, check this place out if you’re looking for a good place for dim sum.

The cashiers are always nice, the cooks always move at a fast pace and they serve interesting dishes. They're only downfall is the small portions they serve.

Best place for bbq meats, boiled chickens and roast duck. Deduct one star for no signage that this is a cash only business and had to come back.

Delicious food at a reasonable price. Our party ordered the Cashew dinner with chicken and the Pad Thai with shrimp. The vegetables were fresh and plentiful with each meal. Extra hot peppers were provided upon request, but the food is not very spicy. I'd stop by here again to try other items on the menu. Yummy was yummy.

This has to be a no-nonsense, all taste Thai place. A hit with UIC students, it offers a wide variety of authentic Thai dishes with medium to spicy options. Plenty of options that can be customized to cater to vegetarian. Special shout-out to the Indian curry fried rice!
DO order dim sum. DO NOT order beef chow fun. Their dim sum is fine and the price is decent! But the beef chow fun I ordered tasted so bland, I guess they didn't put enough soy sauce.

This place is not the best place in Chinatown, nor the worst, somewhere in between. Thus, come here if you're looking for cheap and okay dim sum.
Pretty nice place, I ordered a cold styled noodle and wonton soup also a pork rice cake, the food was pretty good although took a long time and when I meant long it was about 40-50 minutes! :( good thing I was not in a hurry or really hungry, but wouldn't recommended if you're in a hurry or feeling really hungry.

We got three different plates and NONE of them were good at all!!! The taste of the food was just REALLY BAD. I also asked for an iced tea and it was so sour that I couldn't even drink it. I wouldn't recommend this place at all!!

We pass by this so many times and I'm so upset we haven't eaten here before! It's so delicious!! Even though they were closong soon, everything we ordered was made fresh! The peanut sauce for the chicken satay was incredible! We can't wait to try other dishes, we some how managed to eat most of our bowl and hit a pleasant food coma.

One of the best places on Taylor. Their Indian Curry fried rice is my favorite.

Friendly service. Unrushed. Relaxed environment. No forced service charge unlike some of the Thai restaurant on Taylor.

The vegetarian dumplings were hot and filled with some kind of spinach. Tasted good with the sauce.

The hot pot noodles had equally good volume of noodles and generous portions of tofu and veggies. Will eat again

Being situated in a prime spot within the downtown, this place has one advantage. Still I don't know why it hadn't got very low stars. Yet I liked it. If you do like Chinese food and you are looking for lunch/dinner after work, I guess this is a good place. The other day I tried orange chicken, it was too sweet for me. This time I tried Kung Pao Chicken and Black Pepper Chicken with fried rice, they were also sweet, but a bit lesser. It was tasty no doubt. I can't complain about the crowd because I didn't face any, I was the only one ordering. They were almost closing, but they didn't seem annoyed that I was ordering at the last moment. They carried the food outside for me. That's a good point to note. I was happy, so 4 stars in the end is a good trade.

This is THE place to go in Chinatown for Chinese BBQ!! This is the place where TONS of other Chinese restaurants go to get their BBQ wholesale (I've worked in several Chinese restaurants), so expect them to run out of stuff fast!

Be forewarned: this is a take-out only hole-in-the-wall, most likely cash-only.
