It was a great experience, excellent staff, good portions. Nothing fancy but an enjoyable experience and I loved being able to people watch. Very relaxing. No pressure to go. Very welcoming.

I have ordered from this place several times using Uber Eats, always requesting "no cucumber and no ginger" in the deep California Roll.
However, my order yesterday did not honor any of my requests. While the ginger, which is on the side, might be understandable, the inclusion of cucumber in the roll was unacceptable and made me very unhappy with my meal. I have a mild allergy to cucumber, which is why I always make this request.
I'm not sure if I'll order from here again, but I hope you will pay more attention to such requests in the future.

First time ordering for delivery and it did not disappoint me at all, food was delicious, huge servings. Found my favourite sushi place.

Cucumber roll is a chunk of cucumber
Other rolls had way too much rice and were way too large for everyone to be able to eat either breaking apart.
California roll had literal fish sticks in it. Not shredded and mixed with anything.

Came in for a quick lunch. They had a lunch special for $13. Available Tue -Fri.
I ordered the BBQ pork and rice and it had 3 pcs of lumpia Shanghai. It also came with a small bowl of soup. What a good deal considering that one pays $18 for a rice combo at the food court

I ordered the eggplant bowl with beef and jasmine rice. The eggplants were not as soft as I usually like them, but the dish was still delicious, especially the beef. It was mildly spicy, rating about 1/10, which suits someone like me who doesn't enjoy very spicy food. If you prefer something spicier, I'd suggest choosing a hotter option. My only complaint is about the portion size compared to the price; I expected more, which is why I'm giving it one star less. I'll definitely try other plates in future.

Priced and generous in portions, this is great value in today’s inflated prices. We ordered our fave pork sisig to complement our liempo and bbq combo meals (can you tell we were craving some pork?). Everything was flavourful and satisfying. Great to see the owners too as they dropped by our table for some friendly catchup. Such a neighborhood gem!

Busy spot for good reason! Luckily it’s a fairly big restaurant so we didn’t have to wait long.
Lots of menu options, we tried their crispy pata, pork sisig, palabok and garlic rice! I enjoyed them all and had leftovers for the next day.
Service was friendly and efficient! I’ll definitely come back!

My first time eating at Pin Pin. Great food and great service. Our family enjoyed some "home cooking."
This is a takeout only sushi place that often has deals on Uber Eats. It's very good sushi for the price point, they never skimp on the fish but sometimes add too much rice for our tastes. We've ordered from here both pick up and delivery. The pick up process is quick and smooth, they usually have your food ready for you in 15 mins and although the storefront is busy, they move fast. However, delivery can be really slow since so many people order from here they can be making multiple stops before getting to you.
The restaurant is small but cozy! If you're on a budget and looking for good sushi, you should definitely try this place. Naruto posters hanged on their walls were a plus for me! Hehe Will be back to rry their other selections!
I've been ordering from Naruto Sushi for years now, but after today I will be finding a new regular spot. Mushy rice for the beef teriyaki, and the salmon teriyaki. The salmon had a very sour taste, I couldn't finish it for fear that it has gone bad. They put the gyoza in the same container as the (possiblity rotten) salmon teriyaki don, covering the gyoza in teriyaki sauce, and ruining them for me. Lastly, the dynamite roll was well over half lettuce! There was so much lettuce that the roll couldn't be picked up without falling apart. It was beyond disappointing. The only thing was was okay was the California roll, but it's pretty hard to mess that up. What a waste of money.
Pretty standard non high end sushi restaurant. No complaints here. Looks like a mama papa joint here. Prices are reasonable. First time getting take out from here only cause I was in the area.

I used to love Naruto for their budget friendly sushi and I have been coming for over 3 years every week. Unfortunately the place has gone downhill as they have raised their prices and reduced their quality substantially.
I ordered spicy tuna roll which used to be outstanding but recently it has become inedible. Instead of it being tuna it has been replaced with primarily tempura bits, when asked about this they just said it’s the mixture they are using! Obviously this is an attempt to cut costs, but they have also raised the price of the rolls.
Please do yourself a favour and choose another place, there are plenty of better choices at the same or lower prices.

Love this place. Had spicy salmon, tempura and sushi. Fresh ingredients and superb service. Restaurant is clean and bright. Highly recommend!
Good food, good portions, good vibes and service and very welcoming family-run joint. Feels like a staple of the Drive. We always come here over others on Commercial serving similar food we have tried. Great if you are looking for rolls and other simple Japanese fare.

This is the best sushi in Vancouver. Price are good and quality is amazing. Also the service is always fast. 100% recommend it.
Food was great and tasted wonderful. We ordered a bunch of food to share, Oxtail Kare Kare, binagoongang baboy and crispy Pata. Bit pricey but I guess you pay for the quality.

Recently, I decided to order takeout from Yamato, looking for something quick and easy. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The sushi was absolutely delicious, a solid 10/10 and worth every penny. The customer service was also fantastic, making the entire process smooth and pleasant. When I got home and opened my takeout box, I found a small surprise waiting for me. It was such a thoughtful gesture that truly made my day a little brighter. I'm really thankful for the kindness shown by the staff. It's these little moments of care that make a big difference. Looking forward to coming back again.🍎

Exactly like Bangkok. I ordered a green curry with extra vegetables and chicken, and asked for spicy. It was proper spice level, with abundant protein and vegetables – I asked for sticky rice, and they also provided that! LOVED this meal. Reminded me of living in Thailand. ^_^
I had the most horrible Filipino food at Pin Pin. I ordered takeout (oxtail Kare Kare and 2 fresh lumpia). It was my mom’s first time trying Filipino food and after her experience at Pin Pin, she said she will never try Filipino food again. The oxtail and vegetables had no flavour and it seemed like the cook just dunked them boiled into the sauce while the fat from the oxtail went into another dish to save money. The peanut sauce also didn’t have peanut flavour, the bok choy was not cooked enough and had a bleach taste to it and the tripe was too soft and overcooked. The kare kare was ridiculously expensive — at $30 without rice (we added the spaghetti from home as pictured). It should be thrown in the trash. The fresh lumpia also tasted weird. Altogether, we spent almost $50 on the horrible food. I haven’t been to Pin Pin in years and remembered the food tasting a lot better. Either they changed the cook or I had super low expectations of Filipino food back then.
When I complained to the server on the phone, she made no compensations. What a huge disappointment. The food was pure awful and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I would give this restaurant 0 stars if I could.

Friendly and attentive service! The sushi was delicious and came out fast! The lychee grapefruit drink was sweet and tasty too
Went here because of the Plant Curious vegan coupon book and happened to be in the area. The service was friendly and quick, and they did have a separate vegan menu - but wasn’t 100% sure the appetizer we got (ohitashi) was actually vegan (tasted like the broth had dashi and contained dashi flakes). But the rolls were good, especially the green monster roll! Prices are a little higher than average.
Food exceeded expectations. I had a California roll, rainbow roll and yam/prawn tempura. The dip for the tempura was the best I've ever had!
We come here every time we visit Vancouver and get a great meal each time. Sushi rolls are delicious and the desserts are amazing. Service is very warm and friendly as well. It's definitely on the pricier side so it's more of a special occasion restaurant but you get your money's worth

Great food and vibes here. Salmon Oshi is always hit and the Brussel sprouts with beacon was perfection…we even ordered seconds. Only gripe is we came for dine out only to be told that they participate during lunch only. A little odd to us but we were already there and made the best of it.

Our favourites were: champagne roll, ebi fritter, and sable fish. Would not recommend the eggplant nigiri, just got it because we were curious. The chutoro and scallop nigiri were also meh.

This cozy sushi spot may be smaller, but its flavors are big. The house jumbo roll impressed with its generous size and freshness. Friendly waitresses added a warm touch, and the tea was a delightful accompaniment. Despite the compact space, this hidden gem delivers a memorable sushi experience with great food and a charming ambiance.

It was our first time eating here and was really tasty!, when we arrived they seated us immediately, they offer us hot tea and water, the staff is very friendly and kind, we order takoyakis, mega dynamite roll and crispy roll ( all this for 34 cad) and all was delicious!, he wait around 5-10 min max for the takoyakis and 10 min max more foe the rolls, 15 min later since we arrived the place was full!, but i saw a lot of people picking food to go, the prices are good.

Authentic Filipino food. You can tell by all the Tagalog being spoken at the restaurant and the familiarity of the restaurant personnel with the patrons. We went on a Sunday for lunch and the place was packed. Luckily they had two sections of the restaurant so we were still seated quickly as we entered. We ordered the pork sisig, the squid, the garlic rice, and the Java rice. The squid came in different sizes (small, medium, large), but the sizing they give you depends on what they have at the restaurant. The food came out within 20 minutes and it looked very homey. Taste was authentic and the food was very filling. Price came out to $60 with tax and tips for 2 main dishes and 2 rice. Street parking only and beware of areas that require you to have a permit.
We arrived shortly before the kitchen was closing. Although a bit rushed to order, the food and service were wonderful. I had the tuna tartar, two half rolls, and the sable fish (omg good). The fish was so tender and flavorful - it melted in my mouth. My husband shared the tuna and had tenderloin as well. He LOVED it. High recommendation.
A small restaurant that's turning out some really good sushi, noodles and soup. The decor is somewhat dated but the food more than makes up for it. The portions are generous and the service friendly. The prices are reasonable and the quality excellent. Definitely worth a visit.
Superlative food experience, perfect friendly service, and positive atmosphere. The wagyu-truffle was *outrageously* delicious. It normally comes as 3 pc's, but they increased it to 4 so our party could each have a bite. Every roll was delicious, the unique press-and-flame style they are known for enhanced the already flawless quality. Dessert was a standout out too, we couldn't get enough! And if you need a delicious libation, you can't go wrong with their specialty unfiltered sake. Truly a wonderful culinary and social experience to share with friends, every aspect was phenomenal.

It wasn't the first time that we had dined here at Take Thai Home on Commercial. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the food here and had to come again for the 3rd time. I'm surprised there aren't many reviews for this restaurant. 😅

Being married to a Filipino for 23 years and counting, I have a good grasp on what the food should taste like. Just walk in, and it smells just right.
The food is very good and the portions are generous. They have an excellent selection of seafood and other Filipino favourites.
The building and its fittings are a little tired, but the rest of the experience is first class.
For authentic Filipino food, you be hard pressed to find anything better.

Very worth the price! Our server was Simone and she was excellent. The shiitake mushroom nigiri was a hit and delicious. The wagyu truffle oshi and the kaizen soba peperoncino are each a perfect combination of many flavours. The botan ebi nigiri had a perfect balance of seared flavour and sweetness. I have not had a better ebi fritter anywhere else. 10/10 would recommend and come back.

And don’t even get me started on the Okonomiyaki. It’s so inauthentic, not surprised tho even people who ran the restaurant wasn’t even Japanese, but I still. Expected better. The so called “pork” are hot dogs and there are BARELY any vegetables in the okonomiyaki. It’s pretty much a glorified, salty pancake. For the price we paid none of the food we got had acceptable quality.

I ordered from uber as they don’t do dine in any longer. I got the BOGO deal for yam and avocado roll. It came 12 pieces with ginger and wasabi. Overall it was great value and taste good. I like the fact that the rolls are in good size (not too big nor small) so when I picked it up using chopstick it still holds together and not falling apart.

The food however was not the best. The udon was probably the best dish but the sushi was not that great unfortunately. The rice was very stale for all 5 dishes we ordered. Maybe just an off day? Giving them the benefit of the doubt here since the staff were friendly and attentive but I didn’t want to send the food back. If it was one dish I would have but all 4 dishes were like that.
Maybe I will give them a shot again next time hoping quality will be better next time.

Really top notch sushi. I’ve lived in Japan and this place is legit. The sashimi pieces are huge! It’s a great value as well. Lot of food for your money and they have lunch specials, which I highly recommend. My only suggestion is to add more tofu and seaweed to the miso soup. Customer service is excellent and I believe they are bilingual with Japanese and English.
First time trying the restaurant and was surprised how good everything was. Very authentic and the flavors were on point. Love that you can choose the spice level. Their prices were very reasonable as well. Definitely going back when I am craving for Thai food!
Tried couple times, despite they mentioned 3-5 happy hours, I haven’t received any happy hour menu or offer by the waitress. I tried Launch Box B, the misso soup wasn’t good and the salad was too small, other than was good. $16 before tax and tip.
Uber order. The Saba was a bit dry but tasty. It wasn’t fishy at all, had a really nice grilled flavour. The Oshi has a ton of rice, and the rice is a bit undercooked and definitely under seasoned. The Oshi topping was done well. Flavourful. The spinach gomaae had a good sauce. But the spinach itself was very chewy. Overall the food was good. But there are definitely things that could be improved. The rice being a bit undercooked has been repeated in other reviews. So far it seems like this issue hasn’t been corrected.
The freshest and most beautifully presented sashimi that I've had outside a fine dining restaurant. We stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around on a quest for dinner and it seemed like a place where locals frequent and it was an absolute gem of a find. Would definitely come back as all the food was delicious and the services was super friendly and attentive.
This place was just across from our hotel and we were craving sushi. Such a wonderful little restaurant! Very glad that we stopped in.

Unfortunately this was not the most exciting flavor, lacking depth of strong Oyster sauce and Thai seasoning, but pretty yummy overall at low fare. The noodles were not authentic wide rice noodles that are traditionally served with Pad See Ew ผัดซีอิ๊ว and they were quite moist and congealed. I got the 'hottest/spiciest' option of level 5 which was a letdown in terms of any kind of heat and would have loved some fresh Thai Birdseye chillis in there.
A good strong menu with plenty of Thai classics suitable for veggies with plenty of Tofu options.

Rolls are huge with lots of sauce; flavours were matched well and sauces went along well with each dish. Each roll was topped accordingly and full of flavour. Tempura was made well.
Staff were super nice, fast, and friendly.
Great atmosphere - relaxed.

Really enjoyed our meal here. Tempura veggies, Ocean Roll, Dragon roll and the Hawaii Roll were all excellent choices! Angela was a 10/10 as our server. She was friendly, attentive and knew her menu. Thanks again for a great meal.
Awesome food and great prices too! Got take out from this cute place (they have dine in as well), ordered online, super easy. Loved that the auto tip is set at 10% and not 15 or 18 like other restaurants.
Ordered the green curry for 2, pork jowl (the dipping sauce was amazing 🤤🤤) and pad thai. Everything was delicious. You can tell they use quality ingredients in their dishes. Super friendly staff as well.

Update: ordered again to give it a second shot. Rice was dry and hard. Soy sauce spilled all over the boxes and the sushi all fell apart! Would never buy from here again

Attentive service, tasty + reasonably priced food. Lots of options on the menu. Some of the rolls were quite dry. Comfortable booths, and quiet atmosphere. The interior is bit old, and could be cleaner. Washrooms are wheelchair accessible.

Quality and quantity have been reduced over the years. I got only 4 small peices of ginger in my $18 dollar sushi combo and the Spicy Tuna/Salmon Rolls are now more tempura then fish.
You have to wonder what else they are cutting costs on. Is it worth losing long time clients?

Excellent sushi place. Good price, good service, clean place, fresh sushi. Popeye's roll was INCREDIBLE. You have to try it. It's freaking amazing. Awesome cream cheese roll really was awesome. That is the measure against which all other cream cheese roll should be measured. The box pressed sushi was underwhelming. Double dragon was a decent dragon roll. Burns roll with jalapeno was good, but don't eat it with the pepper; it could be too spicy.
We have been coming to Kojima for years. The staff are very friendly and are genuinely happy to see us each time we come. The food is consistently good and always tastes fresh. The menu selection is quite large so there should be something to suit everyone's taste. Their special rolls are especially good! Be sure to order the Dragon Roll! Great neighbourhood gem!
