We were only a short walk from our hotel but the choice to eat here was an epic one...claire was fabulous and steered us to a truly great evening. We had oysters gumbo and jambalaya for appetizers and gulf fish and one of the best filets ever...I asked her to serve it bleeding...but there are many interpretations of rate...this was charred perfectly and so soft...truffle butter was a great addition to both the filet and the chrocettes. Side were fab...red beans great.. we loved everything but then had the bananas foster bread pudding...when I regain consciousness I'll recheck this review....honestly can't go wrong...🙂
We absolutely loved Ruby Slipper in uptown. The inside was so cute and everyone on staff was so warm and friendly. The food was top tier. I had a shrimp omelette and the shrimp were fresh and perfect and green peppers cooked perfectly in it. The cane butter and biscuits were ridiculous and fried green tomato was not greasy and had a nice crunchy lettuce on top. Adorable dog menu and pup friendly patio. Our server, Gabby, was the sweetest. She was so patient in showing the menu and talking about it and visited with us briefly before we took off. Shared some other sights for us out of towners to see and then wished us safe travels. She seems to really care for people and is a great example of customer service.
The beet salad and fried green tomato appetizers were excellent. If you like seafood gumbo, those in our group that had it enjoyed it. The pork chop was delicious, but the fresh gulf fish was not fresh and had a very strong flavor. The service at the beginning was great. Once the restaurant got busier, the wait staff had difficulty keeping up. We waited 35 minutes for our dessert. Some hits and some misses tonight! Hopefully, this was just a one off.

The shrimp and grits are off the chain! Better than a lot more expensive restaurants in the French quarter. The bottomless Bloody Mary was the real deal. Our waitress was Nora and she couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful.
The food and service were very good! We had a large group and they were able to accommodate us with a minimal wait. A good mix of breakfast and southern foods. Our server Pamela was very attentive, as well as the rest of the staff.
My first time at the Ruby Slipper and it was amazing. I ordered the catfish and grits, such a good choice. It's hard to find good catfish these days but it was good. The server was very polite and attentive. Very good place.
Phenomenal food. The biscuits are so amazing as well as the pancakes. The eggs Cochon and eggs st. Charles were also to die for. Our waitress was very sweet, Gabby was her name. Attentive so much that we never had to ask for anything. We visited the uptown location. You won’t be disappointed!
From our hostess Kaitlyn to our server Miguel, this breakfast spot was amazing! True Southern Hospitality and the food was amazing, all of it!! Highly recommend the breakfast tacos, French Toast and biscuits. Will come again when in NOLA.
Had breakfast at the Ruby Slipper. Ate outside with our dog on a Monday morning. Service was prompt and the food was good. Prices were reasonable. It’s a fair value and a great place to start your morning walk in the Garden District of New Orleans.
We were a party of 3, and was seated immediately. Our waitress was Pamela. She was pleasant . The menu had a nice verity, prices were good. The food was delicious and hot and we didn't wait long. I would definitely return and recommend this nice little spot in the French Quarter.
The food and service here was good! The flight was cute but a regular mimosa will suffice. The bacon is amazing. The bathroom could be better kept... other than that.. we'd return and eat here again and suggest this location to others
You can’t visit NOLA without stopping by Daisy Dukes for brunch on one of the days. This a charming diner with a very delicious food menu & great drinks! Do yourself a favor and have a Po boy, gumbo and definitely do not miss the Dukes Mimosa 😉
I wished I had had more time in NOLA to come back to his place. The best bloody Mary I have had in quite some time. My husband and I ordered migas and biscuits and gravy. The migas were to die for. It was flavourful and with a lot to give. Amazing crisp bacon and friendly staff.. if you like flavours, look no further.

This restaurant has a home-y feel to it. The food was excellent and the service even better! Pamela completely took care of my husband and I. She even showed me how to crack and eat crawfish. We got the shrimp and grits (chefs kiss) and the chicken fried steak and eggs. We highly recommend both! The bloody Mary’s are bottomless.
Wonderful across the board! Lisa our host was so friendly and inviting. She was able to accommodate my carnivore diet needs and the Hurricane was to die for! Def stop in if you're in MSY.
This is a seafood restaurant and a bar located in the downtown New Orleans. Very different and interesting interior and ambience. It served Alligator Bites, Seafood Gumbo, oysters, scallops, Fried Tomato Salad as starters. Then it served past, pudding. Very convenient location. Price is high as it serves different cuisine.
We came in for a quick bite to eat. We had Lisa help us out and she was amazing. Her customer service was top notch. Super sweet and a big smile. And the good beating so good was a huge plus. I definitely recommend this place. Oh and try the gumbo! 💯
Wasn't too busy at the time we went, although reservations are available if needed. Server was informative and friendly. Alligator was good, not chewy or fishy. Ceasar salad was large and romaine was beautifully fresh. Shrimp cocktail was ok, a bit sweet for my taste but liked that it did not have raw chunky tomatoes. Rougareaux drink was good but very sweet, about halfway through I needed to water it down a bit. Great place within walking distance to the hotel we were in, and the walk felt pretty safe.
We had a wonderful brunch at Daisy Dukes. Lisa was our server and she was phenomenal. We were seated quickly and food came quickly too. They were able to accommodate my weird no-egg, no-cheese veggie omelette request, and Lisa even got me a virgin bloody to try since I’m pregnant. The food and drink hit the spot and we would def eat here again!
The food was … mediocre to poor for New Orleans. And overpriced. The plating was poor… huge plates, tiny servings, nothing occupying the huge white space. It looked nothing like the photos. I was with a group of 8, so maybe that was the problem? the filets were dry and almost flavorless. The vegetable that came with the fish was literally 3 small slices of zucchini (nothing else occupying the rest of the massive plate), and the soup of the day was such that no one in our group finished it. The garlic soup was OK. The chicken Marsala got me a little tipsy it had so much wine in it, but the chicken was very tender. Overall, for the cost, it was not good value. present with no personality. The old fashioned was cloudy and the sweetest old fashioned I have ever had. I got a second to see if it was better and only took a sip, because it was the same candy in a glass. The group agreed. All of these are fixable things but I’d go to any of a dozen other places before I go back, considering the cost.

Food was fantastic, portions were decent. The biscuits were divine. Service was average. It was slower while we were here, and the wait staff was not very attentive or prompt. Overall, I would return and recommend to family/friends visiting New Orleans.
Good breakfast restaurant but not the best. A lot of options both- in vegetarian and seafood. Drinks are nice, Irish coffee has a good bourbon punch. Not a lot of wait time even on the weekends. You get to pick sitting inside or outside. Parking is available on the streets right in front. Wheelchair accessible.

You wish this was your local restaurant. You wish you could afford it to be your local restaurant. Nothing was surprising, but everything was really nice done. We were very casually dressed and tired and we didn't order much (two salads, gumbo & etouffee), but we were treated well and had a good meal. We've spent more for a (bigger) forgettable lunch in this town, so we went away happy.
This is the only place we go for breakfast when we’re in NOLA. If you need a hangover cure, loaded tots and 2 bloodys will do the trick. The food is consistently excellent and the drinks are amazing. The bloodys are nice and peppery. The Beni’s are all very good. Shrimp and grits are amazing. And they make the best biscuit I’ve ever had. The service is top notch and very friendly.

Great breakfast/brunch place to enjoy in New Orleans. Seevice was pretty good given this place is always busy. The Mardi Gras omlette is a great combination of Louisiana flavor for breakfast. The shrimp, crawfish and andouille are a bakanced in the omlette. The tomato hollandaise was a fresh take on omlette itslef.
This is weird, but the cornbread served prior to the meal was AMAZING, had a sweet crunchy top to die for.
The restaurant is nice, small and cozy, great ambiance, Id call it "upscale casual" we went during Mardi Gras so there were many people dressed to the nines for the Endymion Ball happening later, but all other tables people were dressed fairly casual and with carnival season festive attire.

Laura was our waitress and she was an absolute pleasure! Recommended great food and was super sweet! The food was amazing! The drinks were fantastic, bartender made my bloody Mary and for the first time ever having one it is probably my new favorite drink! Thank you for a great atmosphere, great food, and a pleasant staff!!
The Ruby Slipper was a wonderful find! It was walking distance from our hotel and there was a bit of a wait, but it was well worth it! I recommend joining the waitlist before you get there. We shared the chicken and French toast bites with strawberries and the combination of the 3 were perfection! I had the southern breakfast and my husband had the biscuits and gravy and both dishes were delightful. I also had the vanilla iced coffee and it was amazing. We sat at the bar and Andrew was amazing and super attentive!
Our food was fantastic!! The absolute BEST breakfast tacos I've ever had. My mom had the avocado toast that had a bunch of other stuff on it and she said it was great. Our server was extremely attentive. I never had to ask for a refill on my drink and even though I was really thirsty and he had to refill it at least 4 times, he ALWAYS did it with a smile. Everyone in there was super friendly and fun and always smiling. All in all, an amazing experience
What a lovely little spot! We were driving through New Orleans and stopped here for breakfast as it says they have GF options. Note that they have a GF FRIENDLY menu, but are NOT celiac safe. Worked for me in any case. I had the Bourbon banana pancakes with home made sausage rounds and eggs. Very satisfying. Hubby, who is NOT GF, had a breakfast bowl with a great big biscuit, mashed potatoes at bottom, eggs, bacon, ham and white gravy. He was very happy with his meal too.
They have alcoholic breakfast cocktails that sound really yummy but I didn't have one. They also have beautiful mugs for the tea and coffee. It's just a nice touch.

Amazing! I had the biscuits & gravy, my wife had fried chicken & french toast which had both sweet and heat. We paired those with candy bacon and mimosas and it made for a great brunch. Just beware, the long got long but that's how you know it's good.

If you’re in town and staying near the French Quarter, you MUST come here! The food and people are absolutely divine. The bread pudding pancakes will ruin you for all food from now until forever. And get the brandy milk punch - you won’t regret it!! This place was a highlight of our trip and we were soon regulars.
Very good brunch spot. A lil hiccup by bringing out the wrong food and incomplete food, which probably led to a rushed food order and probably not the top quality they are capable of, but it got corrected and the food was still very good.
This restaurant could not be more perfect. It's only getting 5 stars because a 6th isn't available. The food is so delicious, I was left speechless. Things this yummy shouldn't even be legal. I will be adding this gem to places I will return to again and again. Our server was perfect, too. Fantastic experience. Use the online waiting list. As there is usually ALWAYS a line to get in.
Unimpressed. Service was mid. Food was cold and stale. My French toast should’ve had a crucial topping and it was bare. Didn’t even offer syrup. I had to ask and wait 10 or more minutes while my food got colder. The biscuit beignets were delicious, thankfully warm. Sausage tasted weird to me, but I’m not from here. Potatoes were tasty, however got hard and stale fast so they’re not obviously not fresh. The eggs were cold, when my mom mentioned it they took our eggs, brought back the same ones still cold a few minutes later. They also told my mom they were out of WATER. Luckily I brought my own hot sauce which saved the food just slightly.
Amazing venue right next to the convention center and great for organizing events with large groups. If you’re organizing an event you need to go here, they really cater to your needs and know exactly what you need to fit your budget.
Two nights ago, I had dinner at Annunciation Restaurant. My gulf fish and shrimp were so tasty. Shot out to the bartender, Mike, who was my MVP! He kept my two drinks flowing. I have been pretty much tired of cheesecake for several years. However, I tried it this time because it was made on site. It was good. Had a very nice conversation with Dr William Wright, Sumpter SD Superintendent of South Carolina. Stay tuned! Just the beginning! Wait and see! #WhyGOMO
Cozy atmosphere for good modern Creole food. The service was great, and we enjoyed seafood gumbo (really good, dark roux), crab ravioli, crab dip and oyster appetizers. For our mains, we had lamb, duck and Gulf fish (black drum). It was all very good.
Amazing service, Patrick was amazing and was always around to get drinks and food. The food was an unbelievable mix of Cajun and modern. The atmosphere was great with a nice rustic style. I had the escargot which was in mushrooms. I also had the soft shell crab which was great. It came with pasta, and crawfish. The bill came out to about $42 per person 10/10 would recommend.
Amazing!!! You would be doing yourself a huge favor by visiting this place. All the food in New Orleans is great but this place is a step above that. Absolutely delicious and affordable. Highly recommend.
We went two days in a row to two different locations. Delicious food!! Sweet the first day, savory the second. Spices vanilla latte both days. I was so excited about my Bennie, I forget to take pics. Just go!!
Our waitress I believe her name was Jeanette or Jennifer was amazing. There was an issue with the rude disrespectful nasty attitude hostess and she was able to turn our experience around because I was going to leave my party there. I ordered the chicken & the French toast. The French toast was very dry, I don't think the French toast was dipped in any better so it definitely was a different type of toast. We also got a pumpkin beignet spice dish and that was absolutely delicious as well. The mimosas were okay
The service was great. I was not so impressed with the food for the price. The wait to be seated was pretty long (not recommended to come without reservation if you're hungry), the wait for the food was also long but they served fluffy bread as an appetizer which helped a lot 👍
We sat at the bar. It was a busy Saturday and we still had fantastic service and everybody is very happy and friendly who works there. Our food was outstanding! If you can't decide between the biscuits and gravy and the shrimp and grits, do yourself a favor and get the shrimp and grits with a side of gravy 🙂 Husband's benedict trio was delicious and so generous that he was defeated and couldn't finish his meal which never happens. This location is a little more laid back because it's over by Frenchman and we highly recommend it.
Close quarters so you'll be friendly with your neighbor. Hard to have a conversation at time because the place was so busy and our waiter was sometimes difficult to find.
Okay that was all the negative out of the way... The food is incredible. The free rolls and butter were to die for. The fish and rabbit were highlights. The rabbit dish was like a stew.
Surprising star was the cracklin!!! Wow. Never thought to dip them in syrup before but it was YUM.

Awesome place! Delish for breakfast/brunch! I had the fried green tomato eggs Benedict and was not disappointed! The side salad that came with it was a nice healthy touch. If you are there for brunch on a lazy day, I recommend the flight of mimosas…all very tasty! I sat at the counter and talked with the bartender the entire time I was there. Great guy! Next time I’m in New Orleans, I know where I’m going go for a fantastic brunch!!
We decided to go with the menu option which provided great value. The uploaded pictures give a good impression of what we got. Overall, the food was very good. Go to The Pelican Club and have a great time.
This is my favorite restaurant in New Orleans. I went back for the first time in over 10 years and was reminded why that’s still true. Service was quick, friendly, and impeccable. The food was all delicious, from the amusement bouche of shrimp remoulade to the pork belly to my main course of catfish courtbouillon and wrapping up with an amazing apple pie. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough and can’t wait to go back sooner than later!

Loved the broiled Oysters in a really clever tray, made it easy to get all the delicious juices.

First meal in New Orleans and we could not have asked for a better experience. From the moment we walked in, we were totally impressed with the ambiance and size of Cochon. There's two main dining areas with additional space upstairs and outside on the patio. With such a large space, Cochon remains well staffed and multiple servers were always checking on us to make sure we were well attended.
The food was absolutely top notch, with a perfect balance for every dish. We started with the fried gator bites - perfectly fried and seasoned with a bright citric sauce to compliment it. This and the complimentary bread (so fluffy) really got my appetite going. For mains, we had the redfish and the pork neck (with trumpet mushrooms). The pork neck was extremely tender and cooked flawlessly, with a lovely sauce on top to provide acidity.
All in all the meal was amazing and unforgettable, with great service to compliment it. I'd absolutely recommend a visit for a date, occasion, or night out.

Only one pelican in the entire club and it was a wooden statue. Not sure how to feel about a club for these majestic birds and the only living animals you see inside are humans, no real pelicans in sight. The food is good though.

We had a good time and enjoyed our meals. I ordered the Tri-fecta Benedict and it was delicious. I gave 4 stars for atmosphère because it was very loud. Other than that I’d recommend it. Tricia did an amazing job!
Everything 5+ stars. Food was incredible (really up to the amazing NOLA standards you hear about). The venue was beautiful both outside and inside. The pre select dinner option is very much worth it. Each dish our group had was insanely amazing. Our waiter was also friendly and professional. I highly recommend this location for your night out in NOLA.
Came to NO with this place on my list to try and the service and food did not disappoint. There was a short wait but they had a wait list u could join. The hostess was great and organized. Our server was Andrew and he was personable and really helpful. He checked on us our entire time there.Our food came out quickly. The atmosphere was great the workers and servers were all in good spirits all had smiles. Would definitely recommend having brunch there.
We came here for dinner with the family, party of 7. The service was absolutely wonderful. They spaced out appetizers, dinner, and dessert very well. The server was knowledgeable about the food being served and was very confident in her knowledge and overall just conducted herself very well. She was attentive to our needs and checked on us to ensure we wanted for nothing while we were there. The wine was excellent, and the coffee was excellent. I had the calamari, filet mignon and crème brûlée, all of which had gluten free options. I was so excited that they had gluten free calamari, as I have not had it in so long, it was a lovely fresh breath of air for me!
This is my breakfast spot for my birthday every year. I love the biscuit beignets with honey marmalade! The staff was wonderful, working positively, and were actually short on staff that morning! I ordered the apple fritter french toast breakfast and my husband ordered the Mardi Gras omelet. Never a disappointment eating here. This restaurant actually makes me look forward to getting older! It's a delicious birthday treat!
Read lots of great things about this place prior to coming to New Orleans, and really wanted to come eat here. Was excited that it was only a couple blocks from my hotel, and decided to just try my luck without a reservation. Ended up sitting at the bar with a couple of friends, which turned out to be an amazing experience. The service was exceptional, and the food was fantastic. I had the Fried Alligator, the Wood Fired Oysters, and the Peach Crisp; and would highly recommend all of it. I also really enjoyed the Golden Stout that I got to drink. If you're in New Orleans, this restaurant should definitely be on your list of must eat at places.
My family and I were in New Orleans over the Labor Day weekend and we went 3 days straight. Each and every time was like the first time. Food was always excellent, atmosphere and customer service was top tier. 10 out of 10. I'm definitely going back and will always recommend this place. The Ruby Slipper on Burgundy St has a customer for life. Thank you Leisha, Ronnie and Charles for making our experiences exceptional!!!
Excellent service and the best tasting food! We started with the fried gator and shishito peppers. I strongly recommend the fried gator! For dinner, we had the swordfish and beef short ribs. Incredible flavors in all the food. I strongly recommend both the restaurant and the butcher next door for a more casual meal
If I say anything on this review, is commending the chef for the delicious cornbread! They brought it out complimentary before any of the other food came and wow it was so good! I ate mine and my daughter’s 😅 the gumbo and chargrilled oysters was also very good. Great experience overall, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was pretty chill
We arrived and was greeted promptly and sat. After 5-10 of being sat, a waiter never greeted us. The 5 top seated after us was greeted. I asked the host if we could sit at the bar because we didn't have a waiter, she agreed. The bar service was good. I had the shrimp and grits, which was ok. I feel that it would have tasted better if the dish came out hot. My husband had the omelet. He loved it. I honestly would explore other breakfast/brunch spots.
Amazing menu. We had a large group of people and the staff was excellent. All the courses were amazing and very had to choose what to order. Very thankful my wife was willing to share hers with me, she was not as lucky. The short rib was very tender.

Dinner reservation made for 6pm, and I was seated quickly but waited 15 min for the waiter to notice me. There were only 4 tables at the time, and all the others were getting good service. He did mention they didn't let him know I was there, and he provided good service after that. I went for the Coolinary, and although I was impressed with the food for that last year, this time not so much. The oysters were overcooked (I know the taste is also my fault since they're not in season, I should've known better). I upgraded to the 1lb lobster and shrimp. The shrimp were very good, as were the green beans and potatoes, but the lobster itself was cold, waterlogged, and lacking in flavor. They had a cold, strange butter sauce for it that was also not good. Also, it's mainly just a small size tail and claws, so you don't really get much, and it's not worth the upgrade. The best part of the bread pudding was the whipped cream and fruit, but it wasn't terrible, just average. I was hoping for the high-quality meal and service that I got last time. They definitely fell short, but I'd still go back and try something different.
We enjoyed a really nice dinner at this restaurant on a Thursday night. Our waiter was friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the menu details. We enjoyed the Gumbo, which could easily be described as some of the best in town. The fried green tomatoes were tart and perfectly crisp and topped with shrimp. The boudin balls were also perfectly baked and flavorful. The mussels in a spicy tomato sauce were perfect! The wedge salad with blue cheese was freshly tasty and generous in proportion. For our entrees we had a seafood dish with crab and a crawfish sauce with pasta. The veal dish was tender and delicious. The other two fish dishes were both light, filled with yumminess and so good! For desert, we shared the bread pudding, chocolate pecan pie and the cheesecake. So So good!! We will return to try the other didhes! Highly recommend!!
Really great restaurant with an extensive menu. We had the cop salads, the chicken burger and of course the homemade biscuits. It was delicious and the service was extraordinary. Very polite and kind!! Would love to go back!! There is a great story behind the history of the building!! Go check it out!
We have eaten at The Pelican club many times over the years and have never had anything but good food and great service. Tonight was no exception. The dining rooms are very nice but we prefer eating in the bar area. This is a restaurant that I have never seen disappoint. Very much worth a try.
First time in New Orleans & thought I’d give this place a try based on reviews. There weren’t any tables but we gladly sat at the bar where Fabian took great care of us. I had the vegetarian omelet with potatoes, order of beignets, & coffee. It all came out to $25.00 give or take. I hadn’t received my beignets by the time I paid so they took them off. I did end up getting them but didn’t get to eat them until way later. By then they were hard as rocks. The service was great regardless, it was busy. My food was good, not anything to make me want to return. The eggs were dry, yet the potatoes, perfect. The coffee was the best part of the breakfast, that and Fabian.
