Such a wonderful scenic route in the heart of Edinburgh! ☀️
I always love visiting this area whenever I'm in Edinburgh. Some beautiful monuments, nature and right next to the city centre & Waverley station. Looks wonderful in the summer. Plenty of seats & fairly clean too. Great view of the historic architecture here too!🌱

We thought we had booked a restaurant. We entered through the hotel and took the lift downstairs. We were not greeted and not seated.
The waitress was a very pleasant young lady rugby player who had clearly not been trained.
The table wasn’t set properly, we had to ask for napkins. The entire experience will never be repeated.

The gardens are glorious. In mid March, the new trees were beginning to blossom and the gardeners had completed a few colorful beds. Other gardeners busy tidying up and repairing winters aftermath. Find a spot on one of the commemorative benches with a cup of coffee and watch tourists and locals stroll past. If you are lucky, there will be a piper busking nearby. Decidedly, one of my favorite locations in Edinburgh.
We went here while staying at The Bruntsfield Hotel and we was pleasantly surprised! The food was really good and tasty , the portions big and the staff very freindly and helpful. The drinks are also good and the prices fair. It's definitely worth a visit! :)
One of my favourite easily accessible outdoor places. Any season, any weather. People-watching, having a coffee or a sandwich, or a short stroll - a wonderful view of the castle and the old town skyline. A nice breakaway spot from the noise and traffic.
Beautiful and simply stunning. The views from the gardens of the castle and nearby architecture made it a very special experience.

I was up in Edinburgh for the hogmanay. The event was well organised and controlled. The queue which was initially massive moved very quickly. I would highly recommend trying to get enclosure tickets. I was feet from the front and had room to move. Awesome way to see the new year in.
Everyone was amazing, the service was lovely and the two guys serving us were fantastic. Loved everything about this, definitely one of the best place I went to in Edinburgh :)
Visited Edinburgh for the Christmas markets. Stayed at the Village club hotel .which is a short bus ride into town . Parking is free from friday to sunday then £5 pounds each night . Hotel has a pool and a gym, decent food and prices. Staff are very friendly & helpful. The markets are ok they are not as big as they used to be.
A lovely place to stroll in any season but particularly wonderful at Christmas. Cutbacks have seen many activities curtailed but the fairground at Christmas benefits from the huge open space and the traditional carousel with beautiful hobby horses harks back to a bygone age. The old fountain looked spectacular tonight bathed in different glowing colours.It is quite a distance to walk the full garden circuit and at some points there are many steps which are problematic to those of us elderly people no longer in the full flush of fitness but taken slowly or possibly in part, still a
wonderful experience .🎄😊

Beautiful gardens and we had so much fun in the xmas market. Great place to be at this time of the year. A bit cold but not even that much in November. Super recommended for anyone.
I visited today for the first time to see my friend in a scottish violin performance. There were many families with children in halloween outfits doing treasyre hunts. The cafe is lovely and airy with nice sandwiches and cakes. Everyone was so happy and friendly. The gardens are glorious with their autumn colour. I shall be back. It is as nice as the Botanics

Poor slow service. No one came to take our order after being seated so we had to go to the bar after 20 mins. Same experience through out our time there, poor table service, had to continually go to the bar for drinks, extras etc. Menu prices are much higher than the "chain pub" standard of food they serve, and the service does not live up to the price point also. Save your money and go to a Greenw King instead!
Lovely walled gardens and conservatory. Huge park and playing fields and clean public toilets.

Although the garden doesn’t have a big surface but has beautiful spaces to seat, wild flowers in exterior spaces but also flowers planted every year and cared by the gardeners.
Apart of that the around the park there is a special space for skateboarders, basketball area, football area and playground area for the little kids.
It’s family and pet friendly.

Lovely gardens and park, especially in summer. Well maintained and has toilets, places to eat and drink, play park, skate park and other facilities. Well worth a visit.
Absolutely love this hidden gem! Spring is the best time of year, as it lasts about 2 months here, the flowers and trees all bloom at different times so each visit is completely different. The winter gardens are also great to sit in a warm place 🌷
Ordered chicken curry, steak, toffee caramel pudding. Everything tasted really great, love the gravy sauce of the steak. the chicken curry was the one that really stood out, very tasty not in a typical curry way.
I recently visited Saughton Rose Gardens in Edinburgh and was so impressed. The gardens are well maintained and beautifully landscaped. There is a wide variety of roses, shrubs and trees to enjoy. The pathways are easy to navigate and there are plenty of benches to take a break and enjoy the view. I highly recommend a visit to these beautiful gardens.
I love this place, somehow simply stepping behind a single row of trees makes this place so serene. I like nothing better than a (julianos) chippy and a bench there.(and maybe a beer to wash it down 🤔)
I had the orzo pasta with sundried tomato, gorgonzola and pine nuts and the apple ginger and pecan crumble with creme anglaise. Beautiful food with good portion sizes. The orzo was delicious and filled me up but I just had to taste the desert. Staff were so helpful and attentive. Would definitely be back.
Absolutely lovely park, incredibly clean and well kept. There are free public toilets, a nice coffee shop and plenty of small walks. The play area is really good, even our 10 month old crawling son could enjoy it - there’s baby swings, a sandpit, an area for toddlers, slightly older kids then heading more towards teens. It really is an amazing free space, Scotland does such a good job of parks compared to England.

We were seated in the bar and ordered 2 portions of fish and chips and a plain pizza, nothing complicated, or so you would of thought.
Service was very slow, looked as though there was only a young lad on duty.
Food arrived fairly quickly, the fish was extremely greasy and the batter was soggy and it was so so salty, the chips were almost at the point of being burnt, and the pizza was swimming in grease, daughter could only eat 2 slices of it. The young lad serving was very busy as we couldn’t get his attention, the hotel restaurant manager just ignored us and walked passed several times. Rather than make a fuss my daughter just wanted to leave.

A nice little playground for kids
Very poor quality pizza. Hard to chew the dough, and I am not an old lady. Even difficult to cut it using the pizza cutter. But the staff was super nice. And the garden was good vibe. Wish they could improve the food !
A great wooded park within easy reach of the city centre and worth a wonder before we head up to Carlton Hill. Local residents always friendly to talk to and happy to chat about what is worth seeing, visiting in the area. A great place to visit if you like dogs and like a friendly hello from a furry friend! 🐶

It's very nice. Wee park and a big park for older kids. Room to play football, nice trees, well kept but can get very muddy. Just beside cramond Kirk hall and has been used for outside kids classes during the covid years

Out of the way so not overrun, plenty of space and sheltered from the wind. What's not to like.
This seems like a nice area to walk your dogs. it is fairly quite, not many other people, and enough space to walk a dog. when it rains the paths can get very muddy but if your ok with that then this place is ideal.
Nice park but loud planes. Guess you will be able to know when your flight arrives
Nice gardens in the city centre, a wee escape up top or a nice alternative to the concrete of London rd
