Fantastic fish -- sea bass, prawns and whitebait were all outstanding! The prix fixe lunch special (two courses for 15 quid) is an amazing deal, especially considering the waterfront location.

Massive fish filled with mainly sides. Lots of chips and salad and four pieces of what we ordered as a mix grill. We ordered 7 meals costing almost £100. The meat and chicken portions were a joke! Which explains why the waiter insisted we paid for the order before we even had the food. When the food arrived and saw the size of the food and complained they said it’s too late now we u have paid nothing we can do! Don’t fall for the meal deal. It’s full of chips and salad only. Not worth the money at all

Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere, good selection of drinks and great that they offer 2 pint glasses and different types of steins too. Didn’t eat here but food looked great.

I thoroughly recommend the fillet steak which I ordered & it was cooked to perfection and bursting 💥 with flavour.
I teamed it with a pear & walnut salad, it didn't need a sauce to complete the dish because if the juices running out if the steak.

Food was good, very expensive for what you get, especially for the small plates. Chips were delicious. Cocktails were nice but not filled to the top. Customer service was excellent, very lovely and helpful. 2 cocktails, chips, and 2 small plates came to just over £50!

Totally overpriced for what you get. The pear salad was fine and the lamb starter was really yummy. We got sirloin steak as the ribeye was finished ( it was barely 6 pm so not sure why they were out of ribeye so early in the evening) my steak was okay but my husband's was chewy with lots of bits he couldn't eat. The service wasn't really helpful and the manager was borderlin-ing on being rude then she apologised and gave us 10% off.

Food was good, service excellent, however prices are too punchy. £10/100g Sirloin is way too much, especially when minimum weight is 500g. Temper expectation to increase footfall and you are on to a winner

First and Foremost the staff were outstanding, going above and beyond to cater to your needs. The food was absolutely delicious, and the salad was freshly made and everything else was mouthwatering. Not to forget the ambience of where the restaurant is placed overlooking the beach. Cocktails were on point!

I hired Escapes back area for mine and my twin brothers 21st Birthday party, and we were very impressed. The communication was excellent from the staff, and the staff on the night were on it! The space was large enough for all of our guests (Roughly 60!). We had spoken about 2 specialty cocktails for our night, and they did not disappoint, they specially crafted to drinks , perfect for me and my brother, and they were delicious! All of our guests complimented us on the drinks, the service, and the space itself! They allowed us to store our 2 cakes and cater for ourselves as well.

The only thing I would say, is the Space got rather hot, due to there not being much ventilation (it was the middle of August after all, and there was air con, and they did bring in fans for us) and our guests all dancing and enjoying themselves, but we were aloud to pop into the main bar or outside to chill out if needed, despite the wet weather that evening!

All in all, I would highly recommend this venue, as the staff and management team are brilliant, and it’s the perfect space for any occasion!

We had the best time at escape yesterday celebrating my friends birthday The food was amazing and the staff were welcoming friendly professional and patient Michael served our drinks he had a great balance between professionalism and having great banter with us and our kids the food omg fresh tasty well presented We honestly did not want to leave Highly recommend 😋

An intriguing interior, edging towards kitsch, combined with a "dive bar" atmosphere wouldn't normally be my type of place. However, the food was outstanding - very unusual to see steak sold by weight in this country but welcome. Each accompaniment had its own distinct taste from the tender-sweet pork rib to the ever-so-crispy roast potatoes and superb red peppers. Service was a little haphazard on occasion, the minimal choice of desserts was unanticipated, the lack of coffee heavily disappointing, and the bill was hefty. All faults were forgivable though, as we were heavily impressed with the main attraction - superlative steak house.

5th time visiting this restraunt since my initial review.

The steak on black rock was divine, much better then most of the other local establishments.

Michael made our visit special and engadged with my 3 year old neice making her visit fun.

Overall the escape bar I would rate higher then 5 stars if I could

Loved this 🤩. We visited Macmillans tonight and the vibe was so chil. The food was amazing. The quality of the steak was just amazing, cooked to perfection and cut like butter. The satay dish and wings were amazing. Will definitely have that again. The staff are so friendly and attentive. Thanks for a great night. 👍

I was wondering why so few people were in there. The front door was so stiff that I thought it was locked. It took ages to pour a Guinness and my companion said the the there was sick in two of the ladies cubicles and no loo paper. The gents seemed good. I was a bit embarrassed to have suggested it
