I would leave 10 stars if possible! This is the best restaurant we could have stumbled upon! We haven't had better food, including in India itself! Be sure you come here!

Good quality of food & service in reasonable prices. Since it wasn’t crowded so got our food quickly. Location is also good.
Recommended dishes :- Aloo Paratha & Aloo Gobhi

Excellent, authentic Indian/Pakistani flavors. No artificial color or taste. We wanted spicy and hot and it was made perfect. If you are craving for Indian food then this is the place. Btw we had vegetarian - I am sure the non veg would be good as well.😊

I made an online order. I called the restaurant to confirm because I had not ordered before and found the website unclear to use. When they answered they were rude over the phone and hung up on me without antler sort of clarification. They then called me back, to which I asked if my order went through which they said it had. Then an hour later they called me to tell me my order had in fact not come through to which they asked me to make an order over the phone and continue to wait upwards of an hour.

Was a very good lunch menue.
We both enjoyed it.
Waitress was very kind and friendly.
Will come back soon 🥰

The dinner was really great. The platter for 32 GBP really worth every penny for three of us highly recommend whoever visiting this place to have platter as it comes with starters, curry and Nan. We had egg fried rice post this which was average. This is very near to the Edinburgh castle hence the location is great. Hari who served us the food was polite and recommended us the good options.

Visited Roti with my family and had a mixed experience.
The food was decent—we tried the Tawa, but the portion sizes were smaller than expected for the price. Unfortunately, the falooda was disappointing and didn’t meet our expectations. Additionally, the owner was a bit rude when we called ahead, which left a negative impression. Overall, it was an okay visit, but there are definitely areas for improvement.

As a British Pakistani I can say the food was spot on and authentic. The Haleem was delicious and flavoursome - would highly recommend, as was the chicken karahi and pillou rice. We also ordered mango lassi, the fish pakoras, aloo chat, garlic naan and mixed grill. The mixed grill was the only food that was slightly disappointing, it wasn’t as well flavoured as the other dishes and the meat was a bit dry. The karaq chai we ordered at the end was also very well done. The overall atmosphere was very nice - decor and seating very elegant and service was fast and staff attentive. A place I would recommend for authentic Pakistani/Indian cuisine.

Been there 2wice and loved the food as it’s perfect nice and spicy well cooked and ofcourse quick service, HIGHLY recommend this restaurant 🤩ordered Tawa for 2 and ate it all lol 😂 was too good 👍🏻

Taste wise its good, but the starter is not my preferences. Service was top notch! Only in the ground floor the signal was really bad, there’s wifi but cant be connected.

It’s a simple little restaurant. We went on a Tuesday so not a lot of staff or customers so atmosphere was quiet. However, the food was amazing. Well cooked, flavoursome and authentic. The Tawa for 2 was amazing topped of my an amazing mango lassi. Very very reasonable price. Definitely recommend if you want good food. (P.S. it is not clearly advertised that there is no alcohol)

Amazing food and amazing service.
Very nice and respectful service from MR Euro.
Every time I'm in Edinburgh I only eat here.
Definitely recommend the Tawa.

The food was very yummmm and the portion was right too... Loved the food 💕

Had dinner with friends last night and it was btilliant. Food was delicious and options on the menu were so many. Girl who tended our table was super polite and friendly giving us suggestion and helping us pick from the menu. One of the starters was chicken tikka and it was chargrilled to perfection paired with mint sauce I was blown away. I have no idea exactly how many dishes we ordered to share between 8 of us but all of them were so tasty I'm ready to go for round 2 today.😅 Truly amazing dinner experience.

One of the best place to visit for Mutton Kheema rice. Affordable prices and tastes yummy. Complete worth for the money, the only thing is there’s a seating constraint.

I absolutely loved this place. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent! We visited this restaurant twice while exploring the city. The staff is extremely well mannered and accommodative. They managed to tweak the flavour according to our preferences and choice. Special thanks to Mr. Prashant and Mr. Ajit who served us both days, they not only welcomed us but all our luggage. We ordered Dahi Bhalla, Dal Makhani, Aloo Chaat, and Sindhi Biryani and Mango Lassi. Chef's kiss well deserved! Keep it up!

Very good indian food and substantial portions! Good Mango Lassi too.

Its delicious.. the samosas.. curry.. cakes.. and all menu i think its very fair price.. if you visit the edinburgh central mosque, i think u must try this restaurant.. beside the mosque.. and last the owner is humble..

A friend of mine saw my status and recommended Rustam to us . So we went there to have some Pakistani food in Edinburgh. We ordered Pokora plate, mix grilled Platter, Daal fry ,Lamb karahi, puneer karahi, and grilled prawns. Each and every dish was full of flavor and delicious 😋 . If you are craving for Desi Pakistani food head to Rustam

Had a chance to visit Rustom on a friend's recommendation as I am fond of food very much. It was a good place to eat. It's a bit pricey, I would say, but lively ambience and staff. Met the owner as well, and he asked chef to prepare the food true Pakistani style.
Loved the Karahi 10/10
Biryani was good, but too spicy, so 7.5/10
Rasmalai 7/10
Nuggets 8/10
Garlic naan 9/10
I would go again, as well as there are fewer good options to eat out in the UK 🇬🇧 for Pakistani and Indian food.

Good food but slow service. Enjoyed some good authentic Indian food. Chicken apalak was great. Not enough place to sit but should be fine if you are there for a take away.

The mosque kitchen is one of my favourite places to eat in Edinburgh. Great affordable food, friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

Quick service with very affordable options.
No table service.
Their curries are very tasty along with fresh naan or pilau rice. I have also tried their Falooda is sometimes very refreshing after a meal.
Good place for students who crave for desi food and want a fulfilling meal for a good price.
I haven’t tried much vegetarian options but their lamb curry is very good. We also like their samosas when they are fresh.

Had a great meal at Rustom. It was recommend to me several times and the recommendations were spot on.
First of all the decor was lovely, had a high class vibe, ideal for a date or a special occasion.
The service was fantastic, especially considering we were in at 9.30 towards the end of the shift. All the staff were friendly and the service was fast given that we had a table of 20.
I can't find any fault with the food. My butter chicken extremely tasty. And all the rest of the dishes I tried were amazing too.
The only thing negative I could find is that the portion of rice was very small considering the price.
Overall I would highly recommend visiting this place.

Food quality is very bad as we got food poisoning after eating biriyani.. Customer service is also very poor.

For what it's worth, it's a decent place for it's price. You don't get service but it's not an overcrowded business. Which I like. The food is nice and it's community based, rather than another corporate machine.
For travellers, local minorities and students it is perfect. They also serve chai which is nice.

Don’t ask questions just come eat here. Don’t let your eyes deceive you. It might not look like much from the outside but this place is an absolute banger. Go for the chicken biryani, try the sauces, and love life.

My first visit:
It was an absolute nightmare, the lady at the reception/ till was very rude to me, and forgot to ask me if I wanted to eat in or take it away, once food was ready I brought my family in and she was upset that I didn’t tell her we were eating in. So after a good argument lasting 15 mins we agreed to eat in but with no plates and cutlery, straight from the takeaway boxes.
Food was a little extra spicy but still tasted great.
Second visit:
This time we were greeted by a young gentleman, very polite but too talkative and over friendly. He was all about gossiping and didn’t pay attention to our order and get it slightly wrong also we asked that we get medium to less spicy food but he was too busy in his gossips that he forgot to pass the message to master chef and got it all wrong.
The all over quality of food was still much better.
Third visit:
Regardless of the bad experience on the customer service we did liked the taste of the food produced so decided to visit again, I did finally managed to speak to the gentleman who looked like he was the son of the owner and highlighted all these concerns and requested him if he could look Into it and see if they can improve at all. He assured me that he will try his best to tackle these issues for a better customer service experience…
Simple things like providing enough cutlery, plates proportionate to number of customers eating.
Providing water jug / glasses for customer to have a sip of water drink while eating, so far they don’t offer any water with food.
I can certainly assure if they paid a little extra attention towards the customer service they offer, undoubtedly they will have much better reputation in the town…
All over food experience has been ok.

Delicious, authentic food and great price. It reminds us of the food that being served at our masajid ❤️

Disappointing. I use to love this place 3yrs back but from the time they reopened after closing for 4months, the quality, taste of food have got down drastically. Their trademark biryani dish is no.more the best in Edinburgh. The flavours is dry and tasteless. I have tried many times thinking it could be one bad day but i have ended up having many days of bad food in last 2years. The shop survive only by good name gained over yrs and no better restaurant near by, but now is fast diminishing its value and trust.

Been eating here since I was 5 and I still do. The food is really good and fresh and the workers are lovely. In my opinion they make the best chicken tikka pizza in Edinburgh and would 100% recommend this takeaway to anyone.

This place must be a popular stop for the uni goers in Edinburgh because you can get a big plate of curry served buffet style for under £10 . There are no waiters to pay for , just a cook and server , serving from containers in a glass cabinet so you pick whatever takes your fancy . In my case I opted for lamb curry with spinach potato and rice , which was heaped on a plate and devoured with committed fervour. So many pieces of soft succulent lamb ! Beautiful! It’s clean and basic inside the shop with wooden floors , tables and chairs . It’s a big place with plenty of room if you are disabled or have small children unlike most Indian restaurants. Lastly , I didn’t try the ice cream which is served from a different counter by somebody else but it looked equally delicious and inexpensive. Top quality fast food on the go
