First time trying after recommend by a friend. Old trusted name for traditional handmade biscuits in Penang. Near to St Giles and cititel express.
Tried their hazelnut flavor moon biscuit. Generous of hazelnut inside and tasty moon cake.
Next time will try their signature tambun biscuit.

Very traditional and delicious tambum biscuits , the staffs are very friendly to introduce me a variety of different flavours.
I bought those in boxes, the biscuits are sealed in packets of 2 or 4. They are really fresh. My favourite is the Sambal Shrimp Tambun!

I suggest that you all go and have a look. This shop is very clean, and it has air conditioning, tables and chairs for you to take a break. You can buy their herbal tea, which is highly recommended. They also have a wide variety of souvenirs. I hope you all can go and have a look.

Unfortunately, I'm uable to get my favourite coffee-flavoured 'moon-cake biscuits'.
Juz bought 2 packets of the normal one & couples of boxes, packets & paper-roll 'thau sar pheah' (tambun biscuits).
Also, a 'spicy-shrimp-flavour' tambun biscuit.

Old and authentic, traditional handmade biscuits. I come here every year to buy coconut-filled mooncakes for the Mid-Autumn Festival and white cake (goh wah) during Nine Emperor prayers. I strongly recommend you trying the 公仔饼 (kongzai pang), tau sar peah with sambal shrimp filling, and beh teh saw.

First time saw those staff so work hard and polite. All wearing formal or theme suits and recommend or asking what thing you're looking. All the products packing is so adorable and eye-catching. Somemore the price won't expensive.
They sell plenty of Chinese pastries, cookies and sweets. The packagings are quite modern and up to date, nice to buy as souvenirs. The sizes and the tastes also have changed quite alot over the years.
The shop also quite clean and well kept but you can feel the heat wave from the sun and traffic, as it is opened to street air.

one of the best curry puffs i have eaten. the filing is so satisfying, runny and flavorful. eat it while it is hot. the staff are very patient to serve you even when you don't show interest to buy. they introduce you the items available. they have a cafe area too, so you can dine in.
Some unique handmade traditional biscuits can be found here(coconut mooncake). Most of the common assorted biscuit price are slightly below average compare in the same town. Abit crowded during weekends.
On 18 Oct 23, I visited Toh Soon Cafe and brought bread and drink to Ban Heang seating area. As the back door of Ban Heang have a notice stated Toh Soon customers are welcome to seat inside Ban Heang. Pls refer to the picture attached. Besides Ban Heang seating area have a Toh Soon Cafe poster. Interestingly yesterday (17 oct 23), I was at Ban Heang. The lady staff mentioned that we can seat inside and order Toh Soon as long as we also order Ban Heang cookie. Why Ban Heang have double standard? Why there is a welcome notice at backdoor? We tasted Ban Heang salt egg yolk it tasted dry.
This place is fantastic. Very fresh cookies and pastries. The staff is very polite and professional. Lots of samples.
Recommended by friend and went for their original flavour and sambal. Tasty 😊 Reasonable price and others choice of childhood biscuit can be found it here too! Parking is limited so expecting some traffic in the area.
One of the best place in Penang to buy Tambun Biscuit and other snacks/dishes of Penang. Located side by side with Toh Soon Kopitiam in Campbel Street area. The staffs are so nice and helpful, the place also comfortable for shopping with full AC. The price also good and nice packaging.
Lots of selection from their house specialty Tau Sar Pneah or also known as Tambun Biscuit. Staff very friendly and explains all the variety that they are selling.
The filling is moist and tasty, sweetness just right and a hint of saltines, the combination works very well. Has the freshness as well as I think they have good turnover.

A must get item every time I visit. Their pineapple biscuits are super packed with flavor and the texture is just perfect. Its thin crust is light and buttery... always fresh from the oven.
