On entering Hotel Devaragam in Guruvayoor, one is immediately taken by the spaciousness of the venue and the tranquillity it radiates - a retreat from the bustle of the outer world. My visit, however, was purely gastronomic. Regrettably, the culinary experience was not as harmonious as the environment. Both breakfast and lunch were subpar, falling short of the flavorful extravaganza one would expect in such a setting. The chutney, which traditionally brings a delightful tang to breakfast, was rather mediocre. The lunch, specifically the fried rice, seemed a bit stale. Whether it was the rice or the oil used, the freshness expected of the dish was sorely lacking.
Despite this, Hotel Devaragam shone brightly in the realm of service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to cater to our needs. The team demonstrated remarkable proficiency and seemed to anticipate our requirements, even taking into account the youngest of our group, ensuring a baby-friendly experience.
The hotel deserves special mention for its well-organized parking facilities. Not only is there ample space, but they also cater to the growing need for charging facilities for electric vehicles - a thoughtful inclusion for the environmentally conscious traveler.
