What a fantastic museum.
Really interesting and some great displays. Today was a special 40's event and it was brilliant. Some really nice volunteers and great entertainment.
Plus the park it is located in is lovely, with some good views.

Lovely new building, lots of space and a variety of exhibitions.
Despite no roof garden, there are great views from the massive windows. Could easily have spent 4 to 5 hours in there exploring everything.
And best of all it is free entry so you may as well pay a visit.

Weird little place, generally a short cut from Bloxwich to the Academy school (old Frank F Harrison)
It's nice enough on a quiet weekend, but is known for a fair amount of antisocial activities...

Nice little car park and a decent walk through the local park into the town.
Can't complain, it was free to park and well laid out.

A strange shaped bit of land between factory units.
Some fairly good paths that go round the majority of the site, but found to suddenly end, or turn into muddy quagmire.
Basically it is land that has been mined for coal and clay and then "left for nature"... I guess this was the only thing they could do to it, leave the spoil heaps and let the open mines fill with water. It is quite a big site, I was quite surprised just how far it stretches, but found the caravan park, old folks home and the school (as well as the factory units) got in the way of a decent walk.
If you want to explore, there are areas away from the main paths, but found them difficult to get around due to the amount of brambles and thorny trees (and dumped rubbish, tyres and stolen cable) ...
Might be better in the Summer, but I doubt it.
