Oily Goughs Local Nature Reserve

Weird little place, generally a short cut from Bloxwich to the Academy school (old Frank F Harrison)
It's nice enough on a quiet weekend, but is known for a fair amount of antisocial activities...

Under rated small nature reserve, with some water and lots of wildlife. No facilities or toilets, no fairground. Worth a look.

Lovely quiet place to take the dog for an early morning walk. Leads onto the canal for a longer ramble..

Not the most picturesque Nature reserve. Some quieter routes have fly-tipping and run right along side the M6 so no complete peace from traffic. However, some areas are perfect for walking, dog walkers, runners and bikers. Some nice greenery that links to the canal system. Care should be taken with small children due waterways here. Some areas boarder right next to fenced off Business that ruin the natural aspects of the walks. Would not recommend after dark.

Nice walk along the canal hoping to spot the elusive kingfisher that's been sighted there.

There is no parking for this park, so you have to park in the street or access along the canal towpath.
There is a big field where dogs are free to run wild though.

Apparently Oily Goughs takes its name after a man named Gough who used to sell scrap oil on the site many years ago!
