Loved this hike. Was better then I had originally thought. Cause I was thinking it was going to be tough, very steep and energy draining. It was Great.
I love hiking out at Rice Lake. Last time I went was 3 weeks ago. There was about 2-3in of snow. Good thing I had my crampons with me.
This is a challenging hike. A must is bear spray, a bear bell and a knife for protection. This hike is in the back country. Also a must is good hiking shoes or boots, a hiking stick for the decend and water and a snack for your break at the top. I loved this hike and the view was well worth the 4hrs it took me to get to the top.
I liked this hike. There are a few scrambles and embankments where a slip would definitely not be good. There is signage but No barriers so be careful. I would recommend Good Treads runner or hiking shoes or boots for this hike and a hiking stick if you knees are not the greatest, like mine.
