Missing the baking delights of this family at your pearl. An artisan bakery who decided to knock down the garage of their family home to open this cafe. We are all the benefactors of this labour of love❣️ The sitting area is an outside wooden gazebo with 'curtains' and kept warm with wall heaters. Blankets are provided on every seat during the winter. We just had drinks and pastries but the light lunch items looked amazing. Parking is a bit limited outside the local Primary School but the Balmoral Castle car park is nearby and costs £5. High recommend. 😋👍
Linn of Dee Car Park

Two beautiful forest trails managed by the National Trust For Scotland start here. From Braemar Village (on A93 Glenshee Road) take Mar Road, signposts for 'Linn of Dee' and 'Mar Lodge Estate'. Drive around 7 miles until you reach the car park. The two trails are only 1km and 3kms long with a suggested time taken to walk them as 15mins and 75mins but these are worst cases. The paths are trails so not perfectly smooth but very good and well maintained. There are beautiful views of hills but the main feature of the river is a stunning waterfall with salmon stair which is not to be missed. Highly recommend 😁
Brown Sugar Cafe

Lovely wee cafe with excellent food. A small basic snack lunch menu (see attached pics) but interesting surprise items such as mars bar scones. There is only 10 tables including some comfy chairs. Next time you are in Ballater pop in for a coffee and cake or haggis pannini.
