It's a pretty decent subway station. It's well maintained and it's always clean. However, it's not accessible.
It's the only connection between the D Line and the E line, I believe. The E line runs more frequently than the D. Although, the D Line is express from 59th Street Columbus Circle to 125th Street in Harlem, which is super convenient. It goes extremely fast on that stretch of track, too.
The view when you walk out of this station is quite NYC.
I happened into this space to cry where there weren't too many people. It's a great place for that. I am glad this place exists.
It's a hell of a walk up the broken escalator transferring from the E Line! Whew, I was about three quarters of the way up when I thought I was going to have to stop to take a break because my legs were so jell-o and I was only still moving up the stairs solely because my arms were pulling me up. I would have stopped had there not been people behind me pressuring me to keep moving and no way for them to pass because the stairs on the escalator are so damn narrow.
