There's an AC space upstairs, but we chose to sit in the open downstairs part which was humming at lunchtime, with people sharing the occasional table.
Good wholesome fare, decent portions, friendly and efficient waiters.
Located on busy Colaba Causeway, it's an old established, well known venue.

Great place for a sundowner and quick snack, which was our need for this visit.
Arriving around 6:30 pm, we were treated to sea-nic (sic) Bombay. Really, you couldn't ask for better views of our beautiful bay on one side and the sun's crepuscular rays streaming through light clouds on the other.
Reasonably priced food and drinks. Best of all, clean loos - at least the ladies was.

A wonderful space dedicated to art in the heart of Fort, the building itself is lovely to look at, let alone the substantial permanent collection.
My first post pandemic visit on the last day of an extensive exhibition entitled Sutr Santati featuring some clever works showcasing the versatility of textiles. Tucked away in between floors, an installation of embroidered "bricks" with its poignant history as part of the artist's childhood home and stories caught my eye. Rabindranath Tagore's Kabuliwala rendered in kantha was a thing of beauty.

The restaurant bit in the title is slightly misleading, as there is no hot (or cold) food served on the premises - currently at least. This tucked-away heritage property has been undergoing renovations since some time, but that does not make it less appealing to the neighbourhood office-goers. The glass cases are filled with puff pastry biscuits (khara) and other baked goods.
I was allowed to take as many photos as I wanted, the manager proudly informing me that customers may partake of bun-maska to their heart's content on the steps. Apparently, there is no connection with a bakery of the same name in Girgaon.
When I visited at lunchtime, I could only longingly look at the fat raisin buns, so will have to return for breakfast or at tea time some other day. The Shrewsbury biscuits, waiting to be eaten, look fresh and crunchy.

I liked the attention to detail on the tag. Great everyday wear in good quality cotton. As teenagers in the late 1980s, we used to visit the flagship shop in Colaba and happy to keep supporting them.
