PROS: •One of the few places you can visit to convince yourself not to dump NYC and move to Florida.
•Fantastic views. The One World Observatory elevator ride is mind blowing.
CONS: Can't afford any of the NYbits rental listings I can see from One World Observatory..
Soundscape Park

PROS: Free outdoor movies every Wednesday at 8pm. Check their website for what's on. Huge screen. Free public restrooms on site in a trailer but they're not open late. Buses (free/paid) stop right outside. No dogs.
CONS: Bring a blanket/chair/mat as there may be a few ants if you sit on the concrete wall/grass.

Two miles up the road and you'll find another, smaller beachfront called Louie Valentino Park, that ALWAYS has free street parking 24/7 and during weekdays is virtually empty. It doesn't though have a kiddy park or space for ball games but if you're just looking for a more peaceful place to picnic, go fishing, take your date or hang out go there instead. It has a bar and eateries nearby.
This park though is larger, is great for picturesque views of Manhattan (very similar to the stunning views from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade and Park) and areas for the kids to play. Finding street parking is terrible. There's a ferry to Queens/Manhattan on location.
Took 2 stars off for lack of parking.
