Franks is a very upscale yet relaxed wine bar with a focus on Italian wines. Their cocktail list looks great but I haven’t tried any either. One of the few places that has actual Champagne by the glass. The place is on the corner and has a great outside and inside. Great date spot or dinner & wine spot.
Very relaxed place to grab a glass or two of wine. The ambiance is very basic and not a talking point, but they have several wine flights which is fun and the prices are very reasonable, especially for this neighborhood. The Brie with honey was decent but the bread was a little dry. Overall I would recommend for a chill pre-dinner drink.
This is the second time I’ve been here and I’ve been disappointed both times. The place is set up so great, everything from the number of sandwiches (over 30!) to a pickup window where you can see if your food is ready with post it’s on the window if you missed the guy calling your name. However, the food continues to be disappointing. My Flip Flop (play on an Italian sub) had bread that was extremely dry, at least a day old if not older. There was barely any meat on it, so it was not a great balance. The B+C (breakfast sandwich with chorizo) was a hash texture (all mixed together) and very wet. It’s served on a roll which gets a little soggy but otherwise was good. Overall just expect more from a place that serves exclusively sandwiches. Also not a great chip or drink selection so recommend stopping at a bodega.
Exactly what you want and expect from a NY diner. Very relaxed and chill, a huge menu and everything exactly as you expect. It’s right next to the subway station so it’s super convenient to get to, right by all the large shops on 6th (container store, Michaels, tj maxx, bb&b, etc) so you can fuel up here before or after you shop. The Reuben was the best one I’ve had in the city so far— the corned beef melts in your mouth and the bread was perfectly toasted. AND served with a huge side of Russian dressing so you can indulge. The burger was also good and juicy and cooked perfectly as ordered. The fries were good and the only thing that could have made them better was if they were crinkle cut!! :) All in all great diner and can’t wait to go back.
Great spot for brunch. Everything baked there is delicious, they bring a little cornbread type dish as a complimentary appetizer and the bread is so sweet it tastes like cake. The whole wheat bread on the chicken sandwich was the best thing we ate. Overall good food and the atmosphere is cute with really small rooms and inside & outside options.
