A large aquarium in the centre of Melbourne easily reached from Flinders Treet Station. Within walking distance or two stops by tram (free). I had purchased my ticket on line ( cheaper) and on entry I was taken to front of normal queue and checked in.
On the day I visited it was not too crowded but it is easy to just wait at an exhibit and let other parties pass.
Tanks well stocked lighting low and in the tunnel tank blue. All fish etc seemed happy in their environment with plenty of room. But that is a personal opinion!
The penguins in the swimming tank never stopped whilst those in the cool area just stood around or had a waddle.
Plenty of interactive activities and interesting things to see and do.
Cafe was quick and food of good quality; with a large mixed tank to view as you ate.
A photo is taken as you enter and then superimposed on a exhibition background, I felt these were expensive, you also get a code to download photos as yet I have not done so.
A good morning out I visited as a solo traveller but Plenty for young or older visitors.

A large sandy beach with shallow safe water 30 km from Melbourne. The beach is cleaned regularly. It gets quite crowded on weekend and holiday times.
Life saving facilities exist along the beach but no regular lifeguards that I could see.
