The aquarium was lovely. Very busy, but well set out. I do feel the Sydney aquarium is a lot better, but I did enjoy myself here.
The cafe area was packed, and tables and chairs were dirty.
The penguin exhibit was confusing, as in, how I felt about it, and I'm no expert in running a penguin exhibit.
There are so many penguins in a smallish area, and I know it can't be helped, but penguin poo absolutely everywhere. It was really gross.
Some of the penguins looked extremely sad, and it was difficult to stand there and watch them.
I wouldn't rush back there to visit again, but that's just me.
Everyone has their own opinions and feelings.

Great place to visit. For adults and children of all ages.

Very impressed with the quality and size of the aquarium. It took us a good 2 hours to go through with so much variety. The huge tank with the tunnels is impressive, and we also loved the jellyfish area. In many places you could literally be nose-to-nose with the animals - including sharks, lionfish, eels and huge rays.

Near the entrance was a display with starfish and shark eggs (all for touching), and the lady there was just fantastic - answering questions for our daughter such as "can fish eat chocolate" and "why don't octopus have bones".

I've visited a few aquariums before and really feel that the tanks/enclosures were very well maintained and good sizes for the animals. Of course they have almost infinite space in the wild, but this seemed very respectful to the animals.

A large aquarium in the centre of Melbourne easily reached from Flinders Treet Station. Within walking distance or two stops by tram (free). I had purchased my ticket on line ( cheaper) and on entry I was taken to front of normal queue and checked in.
On the day I visited it was not too crowded but it is easy to just wait at an exhibit and let other parties pass.
Tanks well stocked lighting low and in the tunnel tank blue. All fish etc seemed happy in their environment with plenty of room. But that is a personal opinion!
The penguins in the swimming tank never stopped whilst those in the cool area just stood around or had a waddle.
Plenty of interactive activities and interesting things to see and do.
Cafe was quick and food of good quality; with a large mixed tank to view as you ate.
A photo is taken as you enter and then superimposed on a exhibition background, I felt these were expensive, you also get a code to download photos as yet I have not done so.
A good morning out I visited as a solo traveller but Plenty for young or older visitors.

Even though it was a public holiday (around easter) and it was super busy we were able to get in no worries at all and no wait time as well. It was super busy but it's so big it was no hassle at all. Tickets are a tad pricey but we spend well over 2 hours in there so it was worth it. This was my second time visiting and I'd happily do it again. Such an amazing experience, so worth it!!

The big underwater tank has just reopened. It's still pretty young and new, the fish will still grow I think as some of the sharks are fairly small compared to what used to be there before the renovations.
The croc looks bigger! Is it the same one from last year?
Overall, always fun for the children. After 3 laps of the place though, the adults were done but the kids could've gone around another few times 🤪🤪🤪

Beautifully set out in 15 different areas. Lots to see and explore. I really like how the exhibits are interactive with kids and adults which adds to the experience. The exhibits are well maintained and I interesting. The help of the computer screen also adds to the overall experience as it highlights the Marie life you are looking in at each exhibit. Really enjoyed the 4D movie as well. Would highly recommend anyone to visit one off the best aquariums I see.
