A Night to Remember at Verona Arena

Stepping into the Verona Arena is like taking a step back in time. This ancient Roman amphitheater, standing strong since the 1st Century AD, is a sight to see all on its own. It's huge, and you can just feel the history in the air. But when night falls, and Verdi’s Aida begins, it's something else entirely.

Imagine this – hundreds of performers taking the stage in this gigantic, open-air venue. The Arena’s stone walls and the night sky are the backdrop to the epic love story unfolding before your eyes. The music is stirring, filling the entire space, making the experience even more emotional. The costumes, the sets, and the talent of the performers are top-notch, making you feel like you’ve been transported right to ancient Egypt.

Experiencing Aida at the Verona Arena is something you've got to do at least once. It's an amazing combination of history and artistry, and seeing an opera here, under the stars, is something you’ll never forget. It’s a night filled with unbelievable music, powerful performances, and a unique atmosphere that you just can’t get anywhere else. In short, it’s just incredible.

Temple of Debod

Very nice park with amazing views over the city and the Egyptian temple.

Great for a stroll during the day or sunset. Or even at night. Free of charge.

Didnt go into the temple but it looks better from afar but the views in the park are incredible.

Some cafes close by. Also connecting to another area that is worth exploring.
Higly recommended market with some great small cafes/restaurants downstairs. Super friendly staff although not everyone speaks english so a bit of spanish is good to know.

We decided to try the escargots / snails with wine and it was great. Many options for other food types to eat inside.
Its construction dates back to the fifth century AD, making it one of the oldest churches in the city.

One of the notable features of the Basilica di San Pietro in Vincoli is the use of ancient Roman columns inside the church. During the construction of the basilica, some Roman columns were indeed employed, specifically from the Baths of Diocletian, an enormous complex of public baths built during the Roman Empire. These columns were repurposed and integrated into the church's design, showcasing the blending of ancient and Christian elements.
