Impressive number of trails around sport fields are packed into relatively small acreage of the park.
Great walk on the peninsula of the park. Too much garbage strewn around although it is mid-winter. Other reviewers mentioned radioactive finds at the site of park that is cordoned away.
That said, it is certainly very picturesque shore walk.

In my view best time to visit is winter and early spring due to swampy terrain in some places (bugs would be an issue). Great variety of trails and visitor center open all winter. Clay pit pond trail CPP is my favorite one (lots of pines).
One of my favorite Pine Barrens parks to visit. Large variety of trails, marked and unmarked. Cedar Creek crossings are most picturesque spots.
As of beginning of March 2024, yellow trail is flooded in few places, had to backtrack.

Pleasant short stop experience in winter at the beach.
