The Colonnade is excellent in every way; food, drinks, service and atmosphere. This restaurant is an Atlanta institution. I had the broiled scalps which were perfect. Everything was excellent! My waiter also made sure I had plenty to drink. I'm glad the bridge is fixed on Cheshire Bridge Rd. so I can start going more often.
Two of my favorite things together, Georgia Institute of Technology (GA Tech) and Waffle House. One of the best Waffle Houses I’ve ever eaten at. Food came out just the way I ordered and in a very timely manner. Service was wonderful.
Excellent gallery! I enjoyed the Cy Twombly Gallery very much. It’s a must see if you’re in Houston. There was no admission fee and the Menil Collection Museum is across the street. The Rothko Chapel is also near by. Twombly is best known for his large scale calligraphic paintings. Beautiful art, building and grounds! No pictures allowed inside gallery.
The Lillie and Hugh Cullen Sculpture Garden is a free outdoor sculpture garden with beautiful works located at the Museum of Fine Arts. Not especially big, and it won't take you long to view the whole thing, but there are some really nice items. It’s a must see if you are in the Huston area. Designed by artist and landscape architect Isamu Noguchi, the garden consists of 25 works of the MFAH, including sculptures by Henri Matisse, Alexander Calder, David Smith, Frank Stella, and Louise Bourgeois.
The Rothko Chapel is a beautiful and calm space. The chapel and garden admission is free. The interior serves not only as a chapel, but also as a major work of modern art: on its walls are fourteen paintings by Mark Rothko in varying hues of black. The non-denominational chapel has several religious books form different religions such as Christianity, Islam, Buddhism and Taoism. The garden outside is beautiful, calm and serene. You can’t take pictures inside the chapel.
