I believe is a little bit overrated. I mean, the food is good, but not out of this world - or matched with the price. Desert was very good.
Service is absolutely terrible. They took 1h to deliver each plate, didn’t apologize, were out of orange (also w/o any apologies)… insane!
I went there on Monday morning and the room still had plenty of space. There’s a couple of options of foods already made, but you have to be constantly asking at the desk (sandwich, cookie, cereal) - otherwise, you can scan the QR Code and order something (free of charge). They have both white and red wine. At the back there’s a nice view of airplanes. Finally, they have a “sleep” room with reclining chairs.
It’s worth the visit, that’s for sure. At least once, to see and feel the almost 500 years of history there. I enjoyed looking at the stones and stairs and imagine the place in the past.
They are renovating it and unfortunately making some slightly changes. It seems fine, but I wish they kept the total originality.
I went on a weekday, in the morning, in August 2024 and there were a good amount of people. Therefore, I wouldn’t recommend visiting on a holiday or weekend.
My 4 stars are only due to the fact that you can’t enter with shorts, only pants. Which wouldn’t be a problem in the winter, however with 36°C of summer… very unpractical.
