This is a shopping mall that is at the entrance of the Grand Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
I am given to understand that the prices here are controlled at least that is what our tour guide mentioned, although I personally did not think so.
This place has several coffee shops including some well known ones. We also found a small supermarket that caters to drinks and snacks which were fairly good.
The shopping here was not so great as it's always better to go to the larger malls like Yas mall etc.
However if you intend visiting the Grand Mosque and are not in the correct attire then this is the last stop where you can pickup the same.

This place is a treasure trove for spice lovers.
There are spices from all over the world and are quite reasonably priced.
However be ready to haggle for the right price.
There is saffron all over the place starting at AED 8 to AED 35. I'm not sure but then I guess being in Dubai it must be pure.
Then there are these dates coated with chocolate (claimed Belgium chocolate) may be correct since they really tasted great
Of course you then have the cinnamon and cardamom which are also available in plenty.
Overall a great place for bargain hunters.

A quiet little cafe at the end or beginning of Gregory's Road.
It has a fairly British look as the name suggests.
The coffee was fairly good. However the cookie was not too good. More like raw chewy dough.
The snacks here are from Cinnamon Grand and therefore pricey but of good quality.
The restaurant is decided between the lower level that has the barista and the above area that is the sitting area.
It's worth a visit for a quiet conversation or a cup of coffee.

This Indian cuisine restaurant located at Taj Samudra is one of the worst Indian restaurants in Colombo.
To start with the service was pathetic. We were a group of 20 including children. And although we were specific that we would like the children's order brought first it came last.
The waiters seem to be running pillars to post and seem to be lost as if they did not know what to do.
When the food finally came they were unable to serve everyone and several of us did not get what was ordered utter chaos.
Even a simple thing like serving drinking water could not be carried out correctly as a few bottles of water were randomly placed at the table which was not in the right ratio.
When portions of Chicken Tikka were served no one bothers to check if they wanted the onion salad which was part of the dish.
The food (whatever we got) was nothing great.
The average cost per person was LKR 8000 which was exorbitant considering we never ordered anything other than the main course.
Overall a very disappointing experience and I would not like to return again.

This is a Restaurant I would definitely avoid.
We ordered the barbeque spare ribs and all we got was bones.
Ordered a watermelon juice and the watermelon was spoiled. On complaining about the same we were given an explanation on how the watermelon arrives fresh every morning.
We had a table that overlooked the kitchen counter and there were dozens of flies who were tasting our food before it was served to us.
For the kind of food served. It is overpriced and not enjoyable.
A place best avoided.
