Small bar with older crowd in the middle of Byward market in an old building and always busy on Saturday nights. Unlike neighboring dance bars this one has free admission which is nice. I come in and if I like it, I buy a drink and stay for half an hour and if don't like the atmosphere (usually if it is too crowded or if there are too many guys) I leave right away without any damage to my wallet which is great.

There is a very limited space in between the tables and chairs where the patrons use that space to dance. They sometimes play popular pop music. Unlike other bars (Club 27 and City at Night) I really like the music in this dance bar.

The bartenders are polite and but very busy. It took me 15 minutes in waiting to get a drink last Saturday. The Saturday before I waited 10 minutes waiting next to bar waving my $20 bill, but I gave up after a while and left. Since the only income of this bar is from selling drinks (free admissions) then I recommend hiring more bartenders. I promise it pays off big time.

I went back Saturday Thanksgiving weekend. I tried to get a drink but gave up after 10 minutes waiting but not such luck so I gave up and left.

Looking for a good dance bar, I went to this bar first time. Expensive cover charge of $25 to start with plus coat check. Drink prices are reasonable though.

Large dance stage which is good but the place was half empty even at its busiest on a Saturday night. No wonder with such expensive cover. Halve the cover and double the crowd is my advice. You will sell more drinks while keeping your cover charge income same. The bar was only reasonably busy for less than an hour between 11:45 to 12:45.

Also disproportionate high number of gents compared to ladies. Declare Saturday nights as ladies night with free admission for ladies to address this issue.

My other advice is to put a mirror in the men's washroom. Surely with such cover charge you can afford it. It was also cold inside and it is not winter yet. After 1 am, the place became empty so I left too.

The crowd was nice and friendly, so were the bartenders.

If you know of a good dance bar in Ottawa please advise. I am having a hard time finding one,

Even though I am straight I love this bar. I like the diversity and the cool atmosphere and the very friendly staff specially the two female bartenders, very hardworking and most friendly and respectful, both my friends and of course Roxy, the best DJ. in the world and the cool friendly gent who collects cover charges at the door on most Saturday nights. I go Saturdays and this is a good opportunity for a good dancing exercise and tasteful drinks at great price as it is also a cool friendly place to dance and have fun.
