This is the place where Italian troops breached the Aurelian walls to finally enter the Papal State and unite all of Italia, yet the monument and its surrounding area is not maintained/cleaned (like most Roman streets) and is dotted with rubbish and human feces. I wish Roma would one day spend a portion of its city budget on public infrastructure maintenance.
My previous favourite Vietnamese place in KW closed down and luckily I found Pho Tran. It is now my new favourite as it serves all the signature Viet dishes properly and generously. The pho dac biet (special mixed beef pho) was on point here with tender beef slices, tripe, and soft beef tendon, and everything was fresh. Prices were typical for local Vietnamese restaurants.
Food was good, quite authentic and in big portions. Prices were okay (not cheap) and service was fast and friendly. Overall a very good spot in Praha to fill up with comfort food.
We ordered some Portuguese staples - robalo, picanha, gambas d'alho. The food was excellent and the Spanish owner who served us was friendly and efficient. I am a big fan of these small local style restaurants and this is one of the best ones I have been to in the Lisbon metropolitan area.
Simple neighbourhood cafe with basic pastry and sandwiches. Nice people.
