Cineplex Cinemas is a huge movie theatre complex conveniently located by Hwy 7 and 400. It has nearly 20 theatre rooms including UltraAVX experience.
The audio visuals are better than most small time theatres and tend not to be overly crowded with plenty of parking. The outside appearance is that of a UFO saucer and the inside features a spaceship feel.
While the movie prices have gone up, there are still specials on some off hours including weekend morning.

Imagine Cinemas offers the same big screen showings at a smaller independent venue. This theatre has been around and the most unique aspect is its comfortable recliner seats. Be sure to reserve & sit near the front rows for the big screen experience.
The theatre visitors are sparse and tickets can be ordered online ahead of time, before pickup at the gates. The screen is bright although it has a slight reflection during bright scenes. We do enjoy the convenience of coming to this theatre.

McMichael Canadian Art Collection is a unique art museum stowed away in Vaughan in a beautiful estate property that also hosts weddings and events.
The gems here are Canadian art pieces from the famed Group of Seven and an artist Tom Thomson who influenced the group. In addition to the galleries they also host art classes.

Ho Ho BBQ is one of my favorite stops when we venture to Scarborough. It’s one of those OG places for Chinese BBQ meat. There’s always a lineup, but when you move swiftly inside you can see why! The shop is literally standing room only, with a quick serve counter but friendly staff.
The meal deal is BBQ pork on rice. But we go for roast pork, BBQ pork and sausage on rice which also comes with veggies & soup. The roast pork skin is crispy & crackly as expected. Chinese sausage is delicious too. Value here is hard to beat and it’s what keeps us lining up again!

This popular Alain Ducasse restaurant in Le Meurice hotel in Paris is located within a short walking distance from the Louvre Museum. We arrived at our reservation time and they kindly provided me a jacket in order to meet their strict dress code. The classy setting is inspired by Versailles Palace and the service is truly impeccable.
For this past experience, we ordered the prix fixe menu which started with an interesting oyster plating wrapped in butter crisp for a nice texture. The amuse-bouche came in a surprising iron pot but the root vegetables were perfectly cooked and highlighted the regional produce. The asparagus appetizer was the best that we've had. The chicken main course was tender with skin that was nicely crisp. All-in-all a good highlight of French cuisine.
Dessert sorbet was prepared in front of us in an impressive fruit cart. The meal ended with coffee and walnut crisps along with a box of local chocolates. We left happy with our Michelin experience.
