The best contemporary art gallery in Hobart. Fortnightly exhibitions over two spaces, ranging in medium, style and type.
There is a focus on painting and ceramics, some sculpture was seen in their stockroom.
The staff were very friendly and answered all questions asked. They didn’t have their nose turned up even when discussing the works with a prospective younger couple.

Lots of space to pull over and have a magnificent view over the Great Lake. Info board nearby with a map and fun facts.
Lots of tissues in the nearby bushes…?

Small, quant and interesting gallery space located within Salamanca Arts Centre. It shows two dimensions and three dimensions works, most of their collection is paintings. They also have some jewelry.
A space out the back appears to host workshops.

Salamanca arts Centre is the lifeblood of Salamanca and the surrounding suburbs.
It has five galleries which rotate monthly or fortnightly with new exhibitions of works, from local, regional and interstate artists. The works range from traditional, realism through to abstraction.
The building is rich with history and has many signs and traces of prior use, both tangible and from the knowledge of the friendly staff.
It is open most days and is particularly active during the week. Saturday for market day being the exception. Friday evenings they have live music in the courtyard from 5:30-7:30. Exhibition openings every second Thursday and Friday evening.
