One of the trails in Bartley Ranch County Park
Just a segment of our usual loop of park. Follows a canal through a brushy hillside. Connected to a trail that goes to top of hill with great views of the Truckee Meadows. Part of my regular hike rotation. Can be very hot in summer and early fall due to large exposed areas. Usually hike it in late fall, winter and spring, the sun is warming in these seasons.

Interesting botanical garden that specializes in plants that live in marine influenced dry climates, like coastal California, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand etc. Lots of very unusual and unique plants and trees, some of which are for sale. We visited midweek and it was uncrowded. Hear it can be a zoo on weekends. This garden, like others, needs to be seen several times a year due to different bloom times and leaf color variations. I will definitely return.
Weather was perfect, between storms. Very low tide. Cliff top path is well maintained and offers great views. There are several nice stairways along path to small beaches that are only accessible at low tides. Watch out for random large waves!
