Larry is amazing!
I was probably his most stressed out bride to deal with! He had so much patience for me. Very very accommodating. He would have bent over backwards if I had asked. I do not have one negative thing to say about my wedding ceremony and reception held at this venue. The package He gave us was absolutely amazing, included the DJ, smoke, indoor fireworks, meals, dance floor, table settings and decor etc. He did so much so that I could do less. I visited a few other venues before finding Larry and everywhere else wanted a huge amount of money just to be at the venue not including anything! If you want an amazing wedding or any function for that matter, please contact Larry! You will not be disappointed. I will recommend this venue to EVERYONE!

I think this is the best convention centre in Australia.. it's very gorgeous amd amazing.. you should really visit them!

Located at 14 Darling Drive, Darling Harbour, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺. A fantastic place to come in the centre of Sydney for conferences and to concerts. Located in Darling Harbour, easy to get to by light rail and ferry and a 15 minute walk from Town Hall Station. We visited the Disability Expo, which was really good. There’s very good toilet facilities and parking. It’s a modern looking building and a wonderful asset to Sydney. I have also been to a Home Show and a Mind, Body, Spirit Festival here. These were all examples of what shows that ICC can accommodate.

The AWS summit unveiled foundation of artificial intelligence (AI).
The exhibition was educative, well organised/wonderful infrastructures/environment.
An amazing experience.
I am glad to be part of the historical invent/innovation.

Have been here many times for different exhibitions and events. A quite decent and spacious venue having plentiful parking. Different zones for exhibits and performances. Comfortable seats. Great traffic management possibility therefore no queues or queues move super quickly. Five stars all the way. Highly recommended.

Great convention centre for adx. Large spaces for all the stall holders. Toilets are clean and accessible. Centrally located and easy to get to. The facility is clean modern and well maintained. Staff are always polite and helpful. Being in darling harbour there are heaps of restaurants when you leave the convention and public transport is easy to get to as well not sure how I would improve this place. It's great.

We had our wedding reception here and we’re so glad we did! The process and the night was extremely smooth sailing. Larry was so easy to deal with and very accomodating. The food was great and we received lots of compliments from friends.

Came here for an event. Really good.

This new build left me underwhelmed. Uncomfortable seats, which felt makeshift and too close to my seat mates. The building itself feels like a shed not a venue they charged $150 per ticket for.
Saw the Blade Runner live, which was great but not quite the giant screen I expected. Was grateful I was close to the front.
Lastly, not the venues fault, but what is it with all the ups and downs and buying more drinks through the show or toilet visits. Multiple times. Multiple people.

Attended for a conference. Very large open and clean space. Striking and beautiful exterior. Disappointed with security as when we were taking photos on the inside was very rudely told to stop. Seems like you cannot take photos inside the building.

They have 3 rooms available to support up to 1000 people if you want to go big. The food is delicious and have their own catering service. The sound system is great, drink and alco available as well. The staff accommodate our query fast and they give great service. Would definitely book again for the next event. Thank you 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Highly recommend choosing Festival Functions Findon. Larry provided excellent quality service including venue set up, food and great care throughout the night with flexibility.

All of the staff were absolutely amazing and friendly (especially security) . The food provided at the conference was very poor, I assume the organisers bought the cheap options.

I visited ICC for the Mind Body Spirit festival. Easy to get to by public transport.
When there, simply walk around, especially in the early morning, when there are fewer people. You'll not regret it.

Very organized neat place for convensions, clean toulets, food shop in the ground floor with good coffee, the convension building door is directly infront of sofitel hotel intrance which i recommend staying there for easy access to the icc

Excellent place for conducting conferences, Events etc. Huge space with air-conditioning suited for exhibitions. I attended FDI world dental conference in September 2023. Access via metro n nearby tram station or catch ferry to darling harbour as this place is close to that. Outside ICC park n harbour view adds beauty. Parking facilities are excellent. Travelator can be installed for assisting walking for elderly people as the venue is huge and tiresome walk is there for accessing different levels. Rest rooms are neatly maintained but drinking water facility can be added.

Lakeside Reception was amazing for my wedding! This place is perfect. If you want to make sure that everyone walks away, feeling full & satisfied, this is the place! Not only did we receive many compliments about the food, but also the modern aesthetic it has that many love! The wait staff were great ensuring our needs were met, the reception was put together just as we wanted it and the Victoria room just looked stunning. Thank you so much lakeside for a perfect evening

Great conference centre!
I attended the Love Israel conference there. The teaching and worship was so Holy Spirit anointed. I was blessed.

Nice reception, a bit uncomfortable chairs, the food was delicious and the service was very good 👍.

Gorgeous big venue, I appreciated the clean facilities and the artworks and natural-lit spaces.

Brad, Dom and the Lakeside team are an amazing group of people! They were professional and generous with their support and guidance. We hosted our reception at the Lakeview Ballroom with about 265 guests. The ballroom has been recently upgraded to an absolutely stunning modern function hall. The beautiful park and the lakeside trail behind the hall is a great place for a photo shoot in a natural setting. There is ample parking. Venue is clean and staff are well presented. Great experience!

Good location hotel in CBD, the size of the rooms also not too bad but, the lobby looks a bit dull. Need some touch up or renew the look but not bad. The signboard of hotel is a bit dirty, or the wording looks faded. Rooms are great. Newly renovated. Recommended if looking for budget hotel in CBD.

Best venue for large scale events like SMASHCon. Facilities were up to standard with a innovative and refreshing exterior at Darling Harbour. Very spacious for running setting up market stalls and activities within the 4 lower halls during SMASH. Front desk counters were also kept simple to use.

Great location and awesome buffet breakfast. Service was warm and welcoming. The power point in the bathroom did not work and informed front desk and was informed it would be taken care of but did not get fixed.

A Nightmare at Chancellor Hotel: A Masterclass in Disappointment

I recently had the displeasure of staying at the Chancellor Hotel, and I can confidently say that it was one of the most disastrous hotel experiences of my life. From the moment I stepped foot into this establishment, I was greeted with disappointment at every turn.

Let's start with the staff. Incompetence seemed to be their specialty, as they consistently failed to provide even the most basic level of customer service. The receptionists were uninterested, rude, and seemed to possess zero knowledge about the hotel's amenities or local recommendations. It was as if they were doing me a favor by allowing me to stay there.

Next, let's discuss the rooms. Dingy, outdated, and lacking even a semblance of cleanliness, they were an absolute horror show. The bed was uncomfortable, the linens were threadbare, and the furniture seemed to have been salvaged from a thrift store reject pile. The bathroom was a whole other level of revulsion, with moldy tiles, leaking faucets, and a distinct odor that made me question whether the housekeeping staff had ever heard of cleaning products.

Now, let's move on to the noise. If you enjoy the soothing sounds of construction machinery and street traffic throughout the night, then this is the perfect hotel for you. The noise insulation was nonexistent, making it virtually impossible to get a decent night's sleep. It felt as if the hotel was situated right in the middle of an active construction site.

Oh, and let's not forget about the "amenities" promised on their website. The fitness center was a joke, consisting of a single rusty treadmill and some outdated dumbbells. The so-called "high-speed" Wi-Fi was slower than a snail on tranquilizers, making it impossible to even load a simple webpage. And good luck trying to find a parking spot in their cramped and poorly maintained parking garage.

To top it all off, the location of the Chancellor Hotel was less than desirable. Situated in a shady part of town, I constantly felt unsafe venturing outside after dark. The surrounding area lacked any decent dining options or attractions, leaving me stranded with limited choices.

In conclusion, the Chancellor Hotel is a disgraceful excuse for a lodging establishment. From the abysmal staff to the decrepit rooms and nonexistent amenities, it is a place that embodies disappointment in every aspect. Save yourself the anguish and find another hotel that actually values its guests.

The service was disgusting.
Meals were taken away while people still hadn't even seat on the table to eat them.
They were rushing to take away all our meals and most of my guests complained about not having food.
It was too warm in there.
Most of my guests were sweating asking for ac to the staff but they didn't care at all, I don't think our requests were too high, especially after paying more than $115 per person (with entree).
I have been to cheaper receptions and the service was absolutely perfect. In addition to that they overcharged me saying that I had 3 people extra on that night when I actually had 2 people who didn't show up, and they still keep insisting about that, PATHETIC. We will never recommend this reception to anyone.
Stay away from them.

Stayed at this hotel last Friday for one night before flying out to Vietnam. Over all it was a very pleasant stay. The staff were extremely polite & helpful. However one thing we were very confused about? We booked for breakfast & were given complentary tickets we assumed it was complentary but, when we went to check out we were told we had to pay???? Please do not give false promises & just avoid using the tickets. Also the shower in our room was very slippery & dangerous as we are an elderly couple we really didn't find it very user friendly.

Very outdated and probably was 4 star hotel in the 1980s. For the price we had higher expectations. Firstly, we cannot fault the customer service, all staff were great to deal with. Upon entering the room though they are very dated and small. The shower had no pressure and is either scorching hot or cold. The room service menu is redeeming but after 10pm you cannot access any of the drinks - how is it possible to have some butter chicken but not a simple milkshake for a midnight snack?
We had high hopes particularly because of the price but have stayed at properties that are cheaper and have better amenities. The location to the theatres and other major Melbourne highlights is attractive but we feel that there would be other locations within the area that are of higher quality for the same or even cheaper.

A Memorable Celebration at Lakeside Banquet and Convention Centre!

Lakeside Banquet and Convention Centre proved to be the perfect venue for our silver wedding anniversary celebration. The combination of the beautiful location and delicious food made our special day truly memorable. The person in charge of our event did a fantastic job, from helping us select the menu to ensuring that everything ran smoothly during the party. We received nothing but compliments from our guests who came from all over the world.

However, I have to deduct a star due to some challenges we faced with the owner. Specifically, when it came to reimbursement for an overpayment. Dealing with the owner was difficult, and it took longer than expected to resolve the issue. This was disappointing, considering the otherwise outstanding service we received.

Despite this setback, Lakeside Banquet and Convention Centre provided us with an unforgettable celebration. The beautiful venue, delicious food, and the efforts of the event coordinator made our anniversary truly special. We would highly recommend this venue for any special occasion, just be sure to clarify any financial matters upfront to avoid any potential inconvenience.

Our son and his wife where married here. The best night best service best food out of this world very professional business overall fantastic job everyone who came to the wedding was super impressed still raving to everyone about it all. Amazing job would recommend this place to everyone could not fault anything 💜

Pros: #1. spacious room, with a desk; #2. in a central location; #3. a great rooftop pool; #4. Restaurant food is yum and not too pricey. Cons: #1. there was construction going on that had not been mentioned when booking, or on the website, or on check-in - instead I woke to the loud sound of drilling, which was awful after a flight when needing a sleep-in to get over time differences. There was no apology or any attempt to do anything when I raised this with reception. #2. The bathrooms have been renovated & look modern, but are impractical and risky: there was a big step up into the shower (which has a very low ceiling) with no handrail to help when stepping back down with a wet floor (& nothing to stop water dripping everywhere). I have a leg impairment and found it very scary & difficult each time I needed to step up, but especially down, from the shower. Would not have booked here had I known of this setup (I’m fine with normal bathrooms but this was inaccessible even for my needs). #3. negligible signage to help you find the pool (or the right door when you need to come back down), and the pool only has a narrow ladder style entry - needs steps.

Good conference facilities. I have been here for a few different conferences and presented in a few different rooms. In general, the staff have been helpful and the events seem to have run smoothly. The catering is quite good and the location is close to lots of accommodation. I appreciate the speakers preparation room and tea and coffee being readily available.

Service was fantastic, and location was great. Short walk into China town for food and easy access to most areas.

Room was slightly dated though, older TV which would not let me change hdmi inputs.

Roof top pool was nice, and the night view was great.

Attended a friends wedding here recently. Venue is tasteful and very clean. Room presented immaculately on arrival. The food was amazing! So tasty and plenty of it. The bride and groom should be very pleased with their choice as it seemed like great value for money. On the flip side, Service staff could do with some improvement/further training. Asked for Peroni beer, received a Corona. Asked for a glass of sparkling (wine) got water. Asked for a glass of Champagne (thinking if I re word my order I’ll get what I originally asked for) received a bottle with no cooler to place it in. Wait staff then removed my glass of half drunk sparking without asking if I was finished.
Plates also not cleared as the evening went on. Antipasto was not removed until well after we had eaten mains. Plenty of glassware left and not cleared throughout the evening.

Room was comfortable and clean if not a little small. The step out of the shower was a little high which could cause a slip. Loved the bed though. Comfortable and big.
What let the hotel down was the dinner service. The staff serving were very pleasant. However the problem was they seem to get things wrong. Only poured one glass of wine instead of two, served only one starter and we ordered dessert which we had to cancel as it didn't arrive after 20 minutes and had to go see a show.
When we got back we ordered cappuccinos and got lukewarm coffee with no chocolate sprinkle.
My thoughts were inexperienced staff in the restaurant.
We had breakfast in the morning which was discounted and had no issue with the quality.
Understand mistakes might happen if they were really busy but the restaurant was very quiet so no real excuse getting the sort of things already stated wrong.

We had our wedding reception at Festival Functions on 25.2.2023 and it was everything we could have asked for and more.

For the year leading up, Larry was always a pleasure to deal with. He was transparent, organised and accommodated every single one of our requests. On the night, he was completely across everything - to the point where even our guests noticed.

The room looked absolutely spectacular and the food was sensational (especially the calamari and gnocchi). We could not recommend this venue any more.

This is a beautiful auditorium with the best lighting & sound equipment operated by true professionals. It's a pleasure working with them when I video record a conference here.

You couldn't pick a better place to have a big conference or a small meeting and everything in between!!
It has more than adequate facilities the seating is comfortable the sound system is perfect the staff are friendly there's plenty of room for advertisers to put up a little stand, the toilet facilities are clean and plentiful, there is wheelchair access and disabled access.
A cafe is brilliant, serving teas and coffees and the usual range of cakes and yummy snacks!!
I couldn't recommend the venue more highly!!!

Its not only great for a confrence, but also in a concert !... I attend an convert in last friday. Ot has a good lighting, sound system, and comfortable chair.

Work sent us here for an afternoon session to learn about homelessness and how common it is in today's society. We were shown people's struggles and how people can easily become homeless. We did a supermarket challenge in purchasing things on a budget for each case study. I found the experience rewarding. The conference centre was a tad bit hot if you're in there all day, they probably need to up the air-conditioner but other than that, the place is clean and comfortable.
