What a lovely place to have a children's birthday party. We managed to get undercover tables near the BBQ and play area. Everything was lovely and clean. Great views of the lake and public parking and toilets close. 10 out of 10.
If you also have a toddler obsessed with trains I recommend going here for the one day a month they open! Lovely little places with mini trains going around a long loop with tunnels and bridges!
Amazing place. The trains are real small copies. Good experience for your children.

Easy booking system, just a few things to note:
- tell your guests to put in Rhodes Parkrun in their Google maps, otherwise they will get lost
- it is the furthest Pavilion from the car park and toilet facilities, but it's not that far
- not too far from the play area
- it's a little bit more private than the other pavilion in the area
Amazing place kids and adults loved it. Great staff lots trains take a picnic
A great place fantastic day staff are great. A must
The Lake is beautiful in autumn.
Perfect weather for a late afternoon stroll. Lots of pooches today.

This lake in in the Sydney Olympic Park is breathtaking! There's a beautiful lake with ducks and birds, which make it super peaceful. You can have a great picnic with electric BBQs, and there are fun playgrounds for kids. The wide walking areas are perfect for a relaxing stroll, and there's plenty of parking. Plus, they have a special lane for bikes. It's a fantastic place to take a breath and enjoy nature by your self or with your family 👍🏻.
Quiet and joyful

As a park it has walking tracks a few BBQ a playground area and grass with a nice pond / lake but each section is small but for the area it is very nice and is right for the area
This area is right next door to Stockroute Park steps from the park and on top of the Ribs and Rumps Restaurant. It's mainly used by lunchtime office workers as there are no benches inside the park. I like it because I can just look at Stockroute Park while having take-out. It has shades along the entire structure.

A popular playground on the lake circuit, adjacent to the path and with beautiful views of the lake. There a huge climbing rope equipment, different swings and some small climbing equipment for younger kids. A good stopping point when walking around the lake with kids. The area is reasonably sheltered in places and there’s plenty of seating nearby.
Great walk up hill water 🌊 spelling down from the mountain, waterfall, enjoy this👍🙌
Nice place for long walk, great picnic place in forest and a waterfall. A distant view of Perth city.

good for birthday parties or small events for around 20peole, can be booked in advance on Bicentennial park site. Good photos backdrops.
Such a great morning for our family. We all enjoyed our train experience. The club runs an open day once a month for the public to come along and get enjoyment out of their cool trains. There are quite a fee different types of trains and you can have as many rides as you can fit it in.
The central grassed area is also perfect for setting up your picnic and you can watch the trains go around and around.
You go through a tunnel, over a bridge under a bridge and stop at the Baker street station.
The club runs it all and it's so wonderful to be able to see their passion for community and their love of trains.
Thank you.

Great park for bbq
Nice playgrounds at different points around the lake for the kids.Very popular for joggers and bikes, but good just for a nice gentle walk..Good walkways which are wheelchair and pram friendly.
There are clean toilets in a couple of areas and plenty of parking.
You will see all sorts of birdlife, turtles and lizards.
There are spots all around the lake to just sit and watch,or have a picnic.

Well maintained and great views! Not that close to bathrooms and subject to windy conditions though.
What a fantastic little place hidden away in Balcatta. I never knew it existed and I'm glad we found it. Really enjoyed the simplicity of sitting on a little train and going for a ride. Kids loved it, I loved it and can't wait to go again.

Highly recommended place to visit
Brisbane City Council is making a major upgrade to Forest Lake Park. The water is cleaner and more water fowls are coming back. I spend some time taking photos on the water's edge as well as take a daily afternoon walk around the lake.

Beautiful BBQ spot with tables, overlooking the lake, away from everyone else. Nearest toilets are over at the Watershed.

Great little Pavillion with BBQ/Seating right in front of the Lake, just near where people are free to sit by the water.

I took my 2 year old boy and he loved it. We went on the train for 45 minutes with no stops. He loved it.

We went in summer so it got quite hot with limited shade. The area could be better maintained but I think it's because it is volunteer based. Staff there love their trains and what they do.

Will definitely go back in the cooler weather.
Visited a few days back. Such an awesome outing for my family. My 4yo loved walking the trail, over the rocks, around the stream and waterfall. The main lookout down from the top car park is spectacular. Was quite windy and rained a bit too. We climbed further down the trail from the lookout and had beautifully scented wildflower carpets all around us. Best part it's so near the city and is free!
A great place for exercise, fresh air and great views of the city. The water fall is very impressive in winter and the area is generally a great place to conect with nature within the boundaries of our lovely city.

Nice place to escape from the busy surroundings and have a BBQ and spend time with family or friends. Parking on weekends is relatively easy if you go in the morning.

Lovely, secure and safe place for family events. There plenty of free parking, walking distance from the station and has wheelchair access, barbecue spots and toilets. Pavilions can be pre-booked for events through the council.
I love this lake, though in some parts it stinks and also its not barricaded off by anything so if you have kids watch they don't fall in (to the very contaminated water as advertised). It is nice to sit in a place where it doesn't smell to have food though. Its great to walk around too.

Nice spot to relax, never too busy
This is a nice play area on the banks of the Forest Lake. There are few activities for children. They can play while having a nice walk around the lake. Also you can see some birds and reptiles. This area is said to have free WiFi although I didn't use. There are some parking spaces which can easily fill up on the weekend evenings.
Still good flow during late November early december. Lovely walk. Signage could use an update
Great place to walk and enjoy the scenery
Its not a pivnic area
It doesnt have barbecue
It has disability parking bay but there is no ramp for a pram or disable person
Shades are so funny because it doesnt protect from any shade, wind or rain
Its a montain climbing area please consider for what you are going there
